Cause he's waiting for back-up:
"TEACHER'S UNION ASSEMBLE!"
Are you telling me he's a teacher? I haven't seen him mention it in 3 posts now, so I thought he was finished with teaching... Damn shame. I was really looking forward to how he ties his new career in a trite and cliche way to his posts.

I am simply calling you, Swish, and a few others out as being extremely prejudiced. You are as bad as 40, or whatever his name is.
40 doesn't hate Black People, 40 doesn't get Black People.

Do you think babies are born prejudiced? Black, white, brown, yellow toddlers will all play together. Prejudice is a learned trait. Emphasizing only the negatives of the another race will only fuel the fire.
Actually babies have been shown to be prejudiced: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/science/...tudy-finds.htmlThey also display schaudenfreude in potentially racist ways: http://www.popsci.com/science/article/2013-03/being-mean-girl-starts-cribIt is tricky to parse the difference between racism and in-group bias. I don't have an answer at the moment outside of philosophical non-violence.

I wonder if I could request only large breasted women to make deliveries to my house. What can Brown do for you?

A lot of parts. I might start ordering some parts every day. Gotta start stocking up on parts. Right now.

Just curious...
How is the possibility of fearing a person of a certain skin color/race, because of a traumatic event from the past, any different than certain people hating police due to certain treatment in the past?
One is racist while the other is justified?

Because they're not the same at all???? Police aren't a race???????? No one is afraid of the person, but the power, badge and corruption is the cause of the fear. I fear the police, but not a police(wo)man. The same way I'm afraid of driving next to semi-truck drivers, but not the people themselves. It's the occupation, not the person that people are afraid of.

Some on here say they hate all police because of past encounters, and that is justified. But if this woman had a past encounter with a black man that scared her, she is still a racist for being afraid?

Yes, it is psychologically based. You said it yourself, he "hates" water. Doesn't matter if he doesn't want to, he still does. But, this is a false analogy. Dealing with water isn't the same as dealing with a black person. It turns out all water is identical to each other. They each have one hydrogen atom and two hydrogen atoms. Unlike water, Black people are not all the same and have different atoms composing them. Dealing with a black person who assaulted you is not the same as dealing with the black person at the Pier. It's not the same. Stop equating it. No, I will not stop equating it because it is not that dissimilar. It is an irrational fear whether it is all black people or all water. While every water molecule may be the same, I could understand him not wanting to surf or jump in a lake, he won't get in water that's 3' high to play water volleyball even though he's over 6' tall. He gets extremely high anxiety flying over water, even though the crash would kill him long before the water ever could. Some people grow up with a serious distrust of all men because they were sexually assaulted by a man as a child, people grow up having trouble with intimacy for various reasons based on things that happened it he past with OTHER people. Yes I get that the black guy on the street may not be the black guy that assaulted you, but in the human mind, connections are made that we don't fully understand. Stop trying to oversimplify it to fit your agenda.

hating the cops and hating a race is completely different things.
cops come in all colors. it's the power they have and how they abuse it. i get just as much crap from a black or hispanic cop as i do whites. but once again, a cop isn't a race.
good try though.

JC.. Eve is right. The customer is not always right. I like being a bartender.. I can refuse to serve you for just about any reason I can think of. And trust me, I've told people to get the BLEEP outta my bar right now, and don't come back, you're banned.

The funny thing that wasn't mentioned was that the blackman's coworker, the man who was going to deliver this appliance to this lady, said he wasn't going on the job because they took his partner off. Guess who didn't get fired!

good try though. First, I apologize for using the word hate when referring to the relationship with the cops, but in my defense I did only use the word fear when discussing a race. Which is what I was trying to understand. How can one fear a group, due to past encounters and be justified, but just because the group happens to be a race, that person then is racist. One can fear something or someone, without hating it. fear != hate

What do you mean? You're telling me water and humans are similar and you're telling me to stop oversimplifying? Rich. No, I'm telling you that the psychology behind irrational fear is similar whether that fear is of water, people, spiders, or clowns... irrational fear is irrational fear. You're also the one who said we (The United States) shouldn't want poor latin@s coming to their country? You know you never disowned that comment, right? That's not exactly what I said.. what I said was that we are complaining about low paying jobs and unemployment especially among minorities at the bottom end of the socio-economic structure... why would we want 10 million more people competing for those jobs. I've also said that if you want to improve, you recruit the best talent, not the least educated, least talented.. yea, I said that. Why would I back away from the truth? Sometimes looking into a mirror is hard. Sometimes admitting the truth is even harder.

good try though. I don't see where it is all that different. Hating a large group of people (whether it's based on race, religion, occupation, shoe size, whatever) due to the actions of a few seems very similar to me. I hate all Christians because a subset joins the KKK... I hate all black people because a subset are violent.... I hate all cops because a subset abuse their power.... I hate all college kids because a subset act entitled... I hate all women because a subset wouldn't go out with me... Pick a group, pick a reason.. hating a large group of people because of the actions of some fraction of that group is the same.

well then we will agree to disagree.
because it's completely different, in my opinion.

CHS, mind explaining how this little girl is now an evil, bigoted, racist?
*** Here is a written rundown of what was said:
Published on Apr 12, 2015
A Kentucky judge blamed two parents for their young girl's "constant fear of black men" after an armed robbery she witnessed, local reports said.
The parents argued for a tougher sentence for the man convicted of busting into their Louisville home at gunpoint while their daughter watched "Spongebob Square Pants," according to the Courier-Journal.
Judge Olu Stevens blasted Jordan and Tommy Gray's victim impact statement at a court hearing in February and again recently in a Facebook post he later deleted.
"Whenever we are running errands, if we come across a black male, she holds me tight and begs me to leave," Gray wrote in February of her daughter. "It has affected her friendships at school and our relationships with African-American friends."Stevens, who is a black man, was "deeply offended."
"This little girl certainly has been victimized, and she can't help the way she feels," Stevens said, according to video obtained by the Courier-Journal. "My exception is more with her parents and their accepting that kind of mentality and fostering those type of stereotypes."
Stevens contends the statement played no role in his decision to sentence the robber, 27-year-old Gregory Wallace, who pleaded guilty to the March 21, 2013, crime, to only five years' probation. He defended his actions, grounded with five years on the bench, with a statement early Saturday that said he "will not be intimidated" by negative backlash.
"As for my "wrath", I had none. I leave wrath to the Commonwealth's Attorney and others disgruntled by the ultimate decision. I did not criticize the child. I cautioned the parents against racial stereotyping," Stevens wrote on Facebook. "If necessary, I will stand alone. I have no animus toward anyone. I have consistently been here for over five years. I look forward to continuing to see you on this medium and in court."
Supporters of the parents are reportedly calling for Stevens to be removed from office. ---------------------------------------------------------
Now, you have a guy who busts in to a home, at gunpoint while a 3 yr old child is watching cartoons. That is inarguably a highly traumatic event for an adult, try to imagine how it is for a small child. In many cases such as these, victims prepare whats called a 'Victim Impact" statement. This is used often in sentencing to give the court a sense of just how much their life has been effected by the crime. This family described their 3yr old's reactions and fears around other black men. No where does it say that the parents actually foster this fear, or encourage it. But the judge is 'offended' that she be 'allowed' to feel that way??? She's 3 frikkin years old!
BTW, notice how the defendant was found guilty and given 5 years probation... no active jail time. For holding a family at gunpoint.
I think this probably better illustrates the points trying to be made vs. water or a spider.

Make no mistake......I am looking for a fight on this one. I have read your crap for years and you are one of the most prejudiced people on the board.
Victim? What are you talking about? I am no one's victim.
I am simply calling you, Swish, and a few others out as being extremely prejudiced. You are as bad as 40, or whatever his name is.
None of you are really getting my point, though.
I am not really trying to bad-mouth you. I am trying to get your young, disturbed, self-pitying selves to understand that hate doesn't solve anything. Try working to solve the problem rather than pointing out............."he did it first."
How am I prejudice? Stop avoiding this question. I even reminded you about it. Vers, you're one of the most prejudice people I know and your link proves it. You think because a black person shoots a white person that it's racially motivated. It's not. You're looking for imaginary slights like always. It's part of your victim complex. I believe what motivated the guy to shoot the cop is that he is a felon, owns a gun and doing drug deals. That means life in prison. If that Policeman was black instead of white, he would have still been killed. This wasn't a racially motivated shooting. How am I prejudice though? Not trying to pick a fight, but actually YOUR prejudice and racism are clearly on display here. It shows in your ease of dismissing the fact that it was a black person shooting a white cop. On many of the past threads about white cops shooting black suspects, YOU are one of the quickest people to have called it a racially motivated incident, or try to point out how it indicative of racially biased institutional practices. I'd even wager that had this cop shot and killed the black suspect instead, you'd be one of the first to claim it was racially motivated. Sorry, but I don't buy this backpedaling you and (respectfully) Swish have done NOW claiming that when a black person kills a white cop, its not racially motivated, the fear is of what the cop represents and race has nothing to do with it. The stereotype that cops are all white is just as strong if not stronger than the stereotype that all blacks are 'thugs'. There is no other relationship that is being put out there that is used to illustrate bad race relations between blacks vs. whites than blacks vs. cops. Again, not trying to pick a fight, but you gotta be more consistent.
