I don't understand why many keep suggesting Pryor as a QB. He was not brought here for that, and is not learning the offense as a QB.
I just think some thing he could save us from keeping an emergency QB on the roster ... I mean he could at least step in, take snaps, hand off, run a few basic plays

Shaw is horrible. While it stinks to see a guy get injured, if he played for us we would be in a disastrous situation.

I don't understand why many keep suggesting Pryor as a QB. He was not brought here for that, and is not learning the offense as a QB. I think the suggestion is just as a Roster Spot thinking we will carry only so many WRs. Definitely they would put in some sort of Pryor package I think he already through a TD pass in practice although the throw sucked it caught all off guard. Just a roster justification. They could always just carry 2 QBs and add another WR spot.
But that is why it is being suggested. I'm sure there my be a rare few who actually think he would be a good QB some suggested better than Manziel which I think is a ridiculous notion. Now Slash stuff that I believe could be in his future.

'Justin Gilbert suffers hip flexor, Terrelle Pryor reinjures hamstring as Cleveland Browns plagued by muscle injuries' http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2015/08/post_201.htmlBy Mary Kay Cabot, Northeast Ohio Media Group on August 18, 2015 at 9:48 PM, updated August 18, 2015 at 11:51 PM PITTSFORD, N.Y. --- Any more soft-tissue injuries like this, and someone's going to have to hand coach Mike Pettine a soft tissue. The Browns are in the midst of horrible muscle-injury epidemic, and two more players fell victim to it during joint practices Monday and Tuesday against the Bills: cornerback Justin Gilbert and receiver Terrelle Pryor. Gilbert, who struggled mightily in practice on Monday, went down early on in practice Tuesday night with a hip flexor in a one-on-one drill, and Pryor reinjured the hamstring on Monday that kept him out the previous six practices and the preseason opener against the Redskins. He was idle on Tuesday, hanging out in in his bucket hat, and will most likely sit out the second preseason game Thursday night against the Bills. The Browns' secondary has been particularly hard hit, with seven defensive backs ailing: Joe Haden (hamstring), Tashaun Gipson (calf), Pierre Desir (hamstring), K'Waun Williams (abdominal), De'Ante Saunders (calf), Robert Nelson Jr. (hamstring) and Gilbert. Five of them are corners, and the Browns are holding their defensive backfield together with smoke and mirrors right now. Pettine seemed almost exasperated when trying to explain the injuries. "Some of our guys we're holding out,'' he said. "Joe (Haden) could have gone but that's more of a precautionary thing. It's tough. I think everybody in the league is trying to solve the soft-tissue riddle. We feel like that our protocol is tried and true and unfortunately we're still ending up with some pulls. It's just something we're constantly in a state of evaluation, but we stress to our guys you've got to eat right, sleep well and make sure we're hydrated. "But it is a source of frustration. Sometimes you have it where you want guys to push through but you don't want to worsen it so usually you err on the side of caution and you end up holding guys out." The soft-tissue injuries now stand at 10 heading into Thursday's night preseason game against the Bills. The current tally is: six hamstrings, two calf injuries, one abdominal and one hip flexor. 10 other players sat out Tuesday night with other injuries or to rest for a total of 20 out of 90. And these aren't undrafted free agents who are longshots to the make the team. Key players such as Dwayne Bowe and Duke Johnson have been standing around in their bucket hats, which have become a sign of the times this summer. But Pettine stressed that the Browns aren't the only team hit hard by the soft-tissue problem. In fact, Bills running back LeSean McCoy pulled up lame Tuesday night with a hamstring injury and could be out an extended period of time. "I don't know the league numbers but from what I've been told the numbers are up,'' said Pettine. "I'm sure people will be doing studies on post-new CBA, how those rules have affected injuries. I don't have that data, but I'd be interested to see it." Pettine said he didn't think the Browns could do much differently than what they're doing to keep their guys healthy. "No, it's a two-way street,'' he said. "We have a protocol and our guys have got to be professional and handle their business and stick to it. You don't want to try to just panic and jump off and do something radically different and then it gets worse. We believe in what we do and we've got to make sure that we're all compliant with it as well." Gilbert suffered the injury about 15 minutes into practice during a one-on-one red-zone drill when he was covering receiver Tobais Palmer in the slot. Gilbert dove to break up the low throw and immediately reached for his right hip and then pounded the ground in frustration. A trainer checked him on the field and then he limped off and had the right leg wrapped heavily with ice. Later, after the ice was removed, he still walked with a noticeable limp. It marked the end of practice for Gilbert, who was widely criticized for giving up 11 passes and not breaking up any during the joint session on Monday. "I don't think it's significant,'' said Pettine. "It's a hip flexor, so it'll just be some little bit of time, I think.'' Problem is, the Browns hardly have any defensive backs left to face the Bills on Thursday night. After Gilbert went out, first-year cornerback Kendall James, sixth-round pick Charles Gaines and newcomer Aaron Ross, the former first-round pick and eight-year veteran who sat out all least year with an Achilles, alternated opposite starter Tramon Williams. And it will probably be more of the same Thursday night against the Bills. Pettine indicated he'll rest most of the injured starters and try to get guys healthy for the "dress rehearsal'' in Tampa on Aug. 29, the third preseason game. "Yeah, I doubt Joe (Haden) will go,'' said Pettine. "I think what we'd like to do is time it up so that for Tampa that we can have as many of our ones and key backups out there and get some quality work then. But we're looking to get some solid work done Thursday night.'' Pryor back on the sidelines is unfortunate for the Browns, considering the promise he showed in his first four practices of camp. He tested the hamstring Monday morning against the Bills, and looked rusty. He couldn't run full-go, and dropped his first few passes of camp in one-on-one drills. "I think he felt his hammy grab again a little bit yesterday,'' said Pettine, who stressed over the weekend that he couldn't guarantee Pryor a roster spot. "Same one.'' The site of the almost 6-5 wideout standing amongst the 20 or so idle players is rough on the quarterbacks, who failed to punch it into the end zone Tuesday against the Bills -- in any of the periods, including red zone and two-minute drills. "It's tough,'' said Johnny Manziel, who completed a 46-yard pass to Shane Wynn in the two-minute drill but was then picked off in the front of the end zone by Ron Brooks. "He was having a hard time yesterday and to see him go down again after he's been working so hard to get back, it's tough. "Terrelle's a guy that wants to be out there with us. He wants to work on these little intricacies of things he's trying to pick up as far as the receiver position. He wants the reps, he wants the attempt to get better and I think he's been doing a good job but for him to work all the way up to get back, the only thing we can hope is it's not that bad and we can get him back him out there soon.'' The other Browns not practicing Tuesday are as follows: LB Karlos Dansby (rest), RB Shaun Draughn (hand), DB Ifo Ekpre-Olomu (knee), LB Paul Kruger (rest), RB Luke Lundy (concussion), LB Barkevious Mingo (knee), WR Marlon Moore (ribs), QB Connor Shaw (right thumb), TE Randall Telfer (foot), OL Joe Thomas (rest), RB Glenn Winston (knee). Pryor may be on the cut line now. I thought he was a near lock 2 weeks ago. But did he show enough the first week of TC to warrant a roster spot/gamble? I don't know.

I think that his best bet right now is if they keep him as the 3rd QB/Gadget Player/WR project.

I do think Shaw's injury improves his chances to stick actually

Shaw out for the year most likely. I definitely think we keep just 2 QBs now ... and Grossi believes this enhances Pryor's chances to make it as well Hopefully, they'll see if the great Rex Grossman is available and willing to leave his vacation to join the team and be their savior QB.

If a lingering Hammy I can see him going on the pup list...no harm in it right? Rather than just cut him. Unless we feel that he will return rather quick and want him on the roster.

Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin appears to seriously injure his left knee while cutting at practice. That's a tough loss. https://twitter.com/BleacherReport

PUP list is only available to players who were injured outside/before practice. If you've practiced, you're ineligible for PUP.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Can't remember anyone saying that...elite WRs are not a necessity. Good WRs are.
Losing Benjamin is not good - he's a good ball player but it should not change their record much unless they got guys who just cannot catch.
Anyways Some tough injuries...so far so good for the Browns.

JMO I work out frequently, and I'm not the youngest guy around, so I tend to get very tight. I have tried some yoga postures to help stretch my leg muscles, and they are great. Simple stretches, that keep me from waking up tight as a drum. My job is pretty physical, and these stretches have helped me enormously.

Yeah, I am older and have had to resort to stretching a lot, too. I lift light weights and do sit-ups each day, but what started to kill me was running. I usually run 4 or 5 times a week....3.5 miles each of those days.
I developed really painful heel spurs and my achilles was killing me, as well as knots in my calves. I researched it, got shoes for my high arches, heel pads, and inserts to help w/the high arches. Those all helped, but the best thing are a set of specific calf, hamstring, and arch stretches that I do daily.

Bummer that we're still not seeing any of Malcolm Johnson or Luke Lundy. Would be interesting to see this offense with a fullback. If neither can go, I wonder if they'll keep all four TEs and make Bibbs the de facto FB.

I'm guessing Suggs isn't going to make it on Bradfords Christmas list this year. Note to Suggs: he doesn't have the ball, going that low isn't nice.

Suggs is a dirty player, I remember last year I think it was Blount running for the steelers was wrapped by a couple defenders and Suggs speared him in the back of the knees.

Yeah, I don't like Suggs. Never have. I hate that he's in our division. I remember one play awhile ago where Joe Thomas mowed him down, just shoved him as if it were a fly on his shoulder, and asked Suggs if he was okay lol.
It was on one of his sound clips on that NFL Sound Off or whatever show on NFL Network.
Anyway, pretty cheap and dirty hit. I am mega surprised Bradford was able to take that. Cheap though...

I think so. PFT Eagles think “dirty” Terrell Suggs tried to hurt Sam Bradford Posted by Michael David Smith on August 23, 2015, 6:52 AM EDT Baltimore Ravens v Tampa Bay Buccaneers Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford saw his first game action in a year on Saturday when he faced the Ravens, and it didn’t take long for Bradford to receive a brutal hit to his surgically repaired knee. Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs was penalized for hitting Bradford in the knee, and afterward the Eagles ripped him for it. “He hit him low and tried to hit him around his knees,” Eagles left tackle Jason Peters said. “He’s that type of player who is dirty and will take shots on the quarterback. . . . He’s trying to take a cheap shot at the quarterback. I’m pretty sure he planned it. We practiced against them all week. I’m pretty sure he was thinking about it.” Bradford confirmed that he thought Suggs was intentionally going at his injured knee, and he had words with Suggs about it. “I was a little upset,” Bradford said. “I’m not sure I could probably repeat what I said to him. But it’s part of the game and I’m sure it’s not the last time that something like that’s going to happen this year. But hopefully it doesn’t.” Suggs, however, says the Eagles’ use of the read-option means that the quarterback is a runner and can be hit like a runner. “When you run the read-option, you have to know the rules,” Suggs said. “If you want to run the read-option with your starting quarterback that’s had two knee surgeries, that’s on you. That’s not my responsibility to update you on the rule. I could’ve hit him harder on that. I didn’t. I eased up.” Suggs is right that quarterbacks can be hit like runners when they’re running the ball on read-option plays, and the penalty was confusing because the referee announced the penalty as “roughing the passer” even though it wasn’t on a passing play — Suggs hit Bradford after Bradford handed off to Darren Sproles. Roughing the passer was clearly the wrong call, but Suggs still could have been flagged for unnecessary roughness. The league office will likely have more to say about the hit this week.

Freaking sucks getting old. My best friend is 65 years old. He's always been a tough ass oil rig worker. Strong as a bull and tougher than a $3 steak. He claims he's every bit as tough as he used to be... for about 12 seconds. hahaha He says in a fight he'd have to make the best of that 12 seconds because after that he's done. hahaha

In that link the photo looks like Suggs hit him with his shoulder slightly above the knee. In the video it looks like he hit him not with the shoulder but only with his arm.

If you take a look at the video, you'll see that Suggs lowers his head and either ignores the RB or doesn't see him. Suggs was going for the hit on the QB, no matter what, as he never made a move for the RB when the hand off was obvious. He gave up a 7 yard loss for a hit on an empty handed QB.

I wonder how Suggs would react if, say, I don't know, maybe an o lineman went after his knees?
Truthfully, I wouldn't mind it. Let's see how these "big, bad, tough cheapshots react when it's done to them.

It was obviously intentional. You can tell from the video and from Suggs own words about easing up.
It doesn't matter. If the Ravens have a winning record this year, Suggs will get tons of praise from analysts and broadcasters alike. Just the way it is.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...
