Long time reader here, first time poster. I've recently become interested in what fellow Browns fans think of the coverage that the Browns receive locally. So I thought it'd be a good idea to do a "Browns Media Power Rankings" to see who your favorite local beat writers are.

The 10 leading choices (that I can think of) are as follows. If you have any more that I'm missing (being out of town I rely on their tweets/posts/stories quite a bit, so let me know if I'm missing out on someone) feel free to post them. I did not include team employees.

Mary Kay Cabot (NEOMG)
Steve Doerschuk (Canton Repository)
Tony Grossi (ESPN Cleveland)
Pat McManamon (ESPN)
Scott Petrak (Elyria Chronicle-Telegram)
Terry Pluto (NEOMG)
Tom Reed (NEOMG)
Daryl Ruiter (92.3 The Fan)
Nate Ulrich (Akron Beacon Journal)
Tom Withers (AP)

------------------------

My Media Power Rankings:

1. Terry Pluto (NEOMG)
2. Nate Ulrich (ABJ)
3. Tom Withers (AP)
4. Scott Petrak (ECT)
5. Tony Grossi (ESPN CLE)
6. Daryl Ruiter (92.3)
7. Steve Doerschuk (CR)
8. Tom Reed (NEOMG)
9. Mary Kay Cabot (NEOMG)
10. Pat McManamon (ESPN CLE)

10. Tony Grossi (ESPN CLE)

I think Grossi is worse than McManamon because he is a muckraker, who literally just makes things up.

I actually tend to agree with you on Grossi. He's been brutal lately and it's almost like he enjoys trolling. I rated him higher because of past work, but ever since he's moved to ESPN Cleveland he's really taken a dive. He doesn't ever break any news either - other than, as you said, stuff that's totally false and instantly denied by the team.

I like Ulrich, Ruiter, Pluto, and Doerschuk

Do not like Grossi or Mary Kay

I'm indifferent on the rest

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Anyone who doesn't have Ulrich one or two needs to have their head checked.

I've heard of Kay and Grossi. I Believe I have a Browns book by Pluto.

Nope. The book is "Tales From the Browns Sideline" by Tony Grossi

It has about 30 short chapters. Each one is about a famous Browns player.

Thanks, Rocky. I'm more south of Buffalo, but was just up in your old stomping grounds on Monday. Really enjoy Rochester.
