MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The creator of the presidential campaign for Deez Nuts, a candidate polling at nearly double digits against Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, is a 15-year-old boy from Iowa.
His name is Brady Olson, and he’s making national headlines after filing the paperwork to run for president last month.
Public Policy Polling recently added the Nuts name to its surveys, asking if voters would support the independent candidate in a general election with Trump and Clinton. Nuts snagged 7-percent support in Minnesota, and when the survey was done in Iowa and North Carolina his numbers rose even higher: to 8 percent and 9 percent, respectively. Olson, a high school sophomore from a town of less than 200 people, told The Daily Beast he got the idea to create the campaign after he heard about another high school student in Louisville who filed the candidacy paperwork for his friend’s cat, Limberbutt McCubbins.
Olson said he’d like McCubbins to be his vice president on a ticket, because “the Nuts/McCubbins ticket sounds amazing.” While the teenager wouldn’t be able to take office in the event Nuts somehow won the election – one has to be 35 to become president – he has nevertheless produced a detailed and diverse running platform.
According to the website Deez Nuts For President 2016, Nuts wants to deport all illegal immigrants and slash the salaries of politicians if they fail to balance the federal budget. On the other hand, he also supports same-sex marriage, tax incentives for green energy and the recent Iran nuclear deal.
To get on the ballot in Minnesota, Nuts would need 2,000 signatures from eligible voters. On the Nuts campaign website, it says the candidate is open to running for a number of parties, including The American Populist Party, The Independence Party, The Marijuana Party and The Rent is Too Damn High Party.

I'll truly enjoy revisiting this thread after President Sanders is in office. Trump is the BEST thing that could have happened this year for Democrats! I especially like all these guys that are rooting for him to keep the lead; forgetting that women and minorities vote! LMBO

Politics has become a side show. Now we have a carnival barker, barking. He's entertaining. He's never going to make it out of the primary's so just enjoy the ride.
