I don't think Vick should have ever done any time at all, not for that. Heck we have people killing babies and druggies running around with having to serve no time. Vick got raped on that one. For dogs no less.

Vambo, you can continue to post horrific pictures of dog fighting if you think it's serving a purpose like winning emotional support. However, I have not once argued the goodness (which there is none) or the evilness of dog fighting.

My point was, and continues to be, that once a person is involved in a criminal proceeding, whether they are found guilty and pay for their crime or are found not guilty and are let go, either way, at the end of it, they deserve to re-enter society, get a job, and make the most of their life, and if that allows them to keep whatever wealth they had or get a high paying job, so be it...... you seem to think that they should continue to pay a price through stripping them of their wealth and limiting their earning potential or relegating them to obscure low paying jobs only....

If that is correct, then I assume we are done here.

If Vick had to do time, then every farmer in the country would have to do time also. Ask any farmer what they do with stray cats and dogs. Most get rid of them.

There is a significant difference between putting down a stray cat or dog that has no home and making two animals fight to the death for sport....

I understand that. A fine would be in order. I don't think jail time for dog fights make sense.

Wow. I know a lot of farmers. A lot.

It's nothing to see 10-15 cats around most barns. Farmers kinda like them because they help with the mice and rats - at least the farmers I know.

And, I guess we don't have a stray dog problem around here. We must be lucky.

Now, if you're talking URBANITES, yeah, the cities kill dogs and cats daily.

My grandpa had a big farm in KY. Just going by what he told me yrs. ago about strays. The whole point of my posts was this: Human life seems to be compared to that of animals. I don't think that's right. There's more value in human life than an animals Imo.

Some humans are worse than animals IMHO. I know I have owned several dogs who I would hold their life infinitely more dear than the scum of this earth like Vick.

Second don't compare farming and slaughter house to dog fighting because it just shows how ignorant you are. Yes, animals are killed in slaughterhouses for FOOD. They are given as quick a death as possible if for no other reason than to make the meat taste better. They don't suffer that much. If you eat meat then you deal with the fact that something had to die for you to eat it. Even if your a hunter you don't want what you're hunting to suffer. You pride yourself on a clean and quick kill and you're upset if you make the suffer from a bad shot.

Dog fighting is horrendously brutal and these animal often die a very slow, brutal, and extremely painful death. Even when they win they are mauled, crippled, and if they can't fight are cruelly put to death or sent out to be a training fight for a new dog learning the ropes so it can murder a crippled up dog. The sickos that watch it or participate in it do just as much for the gruesome pain the animals suffer as to win a bet gambling. IMHO these kind of scum don't deserve to be called humans.
