It will be interesting when Mayle makes the team lol Jeremy Fowler (ESPN) just tweeted that Pryor/Mayle look to be safe https://twitter.com/JFowlerESPN
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I get the feeling that a bunch of the Browns players are not happy with Bowe being retained and Lenz being cut. I know they realize the financial situation of the entire thing with Bowe's 9m guaranteed, but it really seems like they weren't happy with Bowe half-assing the entire training camp. That dude better show up this season. No one has been cut yet. (that I know of) The article is really misleading, because he cut his hand, not that he was released. As far as players, they are more concerned with their own jobs. Unless a guy is a troublemaker, most don't pay that much attention once a guy is gone.

according to Grossi pat Devlin just got the axe That leaves 2 QB's with Shaw in IR. I'd say Pryor is safe at this point because of this.

Gotta ... admit, I thought Lewis was a lock to make the club with Manziel not being 100%. Guess I was wrong.

As far as players, they are more concerned with their own jobs. Unless a guy is a troublemaker, most don't pay that much attention once a guy is gone. Lenz is gone. Donte Whitner, Brian Hartline, and others have been pretty vocal about this situation on twitter. They didn't bring up Bowe's name, but I thnk it's a bit of a shot at him when they talk about how hard these guys are working. I can't say for sure it's a shot at Bowe, but it's just the feeling I've got. Hartline and Whitner have been in the game a while, they both work insanely hard, especially in the offseason, and you see Bowe not playing in the preseason or really doing anything and it just seems like they're pointing out the harsh reality of the league. I think Lenz stays and Bowe is gone if not for the money.

Him or Mayle, but it's not good to have this type of open mutiny before the season even starts.

J/C If Mayle makes the roster then cutting Lenz was a bad decision. Lenz size shouldn't matter, he really isn't that small he's listed at 6ft, 195 lbs. Mayle has shown less against 1's, 2's and 3's, IMO. I'd have to check but I believe he did line up on the outside at times so he's shown something besides slot play. Can't recall Mayle doing anything on ST that would deserve consideration.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000...7750-sf12827750Just saw that Cassel was released. I'd have always preferred him to Josh McCown. Maybe he's a good option?

I'm definitely 100% into looking at RB Jonas Gray who was just released by the pats...the kid still looked superb in the preseason too

But who knows, maybe he learned his lesson. Skip a Patriots practice and you get sent to the Browns. What's the next step after skipping a Browns practice? NM: Guess he skipped a practice in 2014, lol. Either way, it seems like there's a surplus of RBs on the block/cut. I doubt there's much of a market for West

No ty Average QB play gets us a winning season and possibly post season action. Even at this point Cassel is better than McCown. I'd bring him in as a 3rd QB behind McCown and Manziel initially, having him as a safety net in case of a late season melt down.

I think Flip was partial to McCown because of his history with him. But if our running game is reliant on Crow and Duke Johnson (who missed most/all camp), I think we're going to have to pass the ball more than people realize. And forcing McCown to get a bunch of first downs just doesn't sit well with me. Hopefully I'm surprised. But I just am nervous that he'll be throwing nothing but a bunch of short passes. That, mixed with a weak running game, is a recipe for another enemic Browns offense

Patriots released RB Jonas Gray. I guess that means former Brown, Dion Lewis, is Vereens replacement. Dion was another get Banner got in a trade. I forget the LB's name, but he was released earlier this week.

Best we can hope for is if Lenz, Mayle, and Pullard can make it to the practice squad. I'm a bit disappointed about Pullard and Lenz. Encouraged that Mayle got cut. You got a 4th rounder wrong. The undrafted competition was better. Own up to it. We did that.
Bowe better be ready to produce and really ramp it up after healing. How much of a disaster would the WR corp have been if all we did was sign Bowe and draft Mayle, and neither were good enough to make the team. Reality is this group is the absolute worst in the NFL.
I see people keep mentioning Pryor's versatility as what may have been the sticking point; but has there been anything on him being ready at QB "in a pinch" if needed? I don't recall anything of the sort in regards to him transitioning to WR.
It will be interesting to see who gets picked up (looking at you, Lenz. Best of luck.)

Reality is this group is the absolute worst in the NFL. Really? Simply Hartline, Hawkins, Gabriel are worse than whatever Carolina is fielding?

I'd say our WR group is one of the bottom 3 of the league ... Carolina is about the only team who I'd say would be worse

I think we are gonna be more than fine with Gabriel and Hartline. Then you add bibbs, Housler and Duke Johnson to the mix and we are gonna see some big plays. Housler has really improved since his time in AZ. We have some good coaches.

Douche vs. turd sandwich. At least in their defense, they lost their #1 stud to a freaking pre-season practice injury. Going forward, they have a lot less to do to make that a top half unit than we do.
Adding to this, I think it's possible to get by without a top half unit at receiver. But you need great QB play- which we likely won't have. Because for every Rich Gannon, there's nineteen Jason Campbells.

I sure hope that Flip can get this running game going the way Shannahan did at the beginning of last year (before the loss of Mack). When we were 7-4, our WR group was no better than we what we have now.... And if Bowe shows up, all the better

I havent lost confidence in our rushing attack. Against the Bills, their first team was showing signs of wearing down mid 2nd quarter. I saw the same near half of the Bucs game. I dont know how we will be week 1, especially against the jets but I like our chances and believe we will be really good in the run game.

SO much for me thinking Lenz was going to make it This is one of the few times I'm really upset with this FO. Whatever happened to Play Like A Brown? Someone needs to ask Pet that question. I guess if you ride your bike hard in camp it doesn't matter what you do on the field. Can't believe it.
