#Browns news: WR Josh Lenz hs been cut. So have nose tackle Jacobbi McDaniel, defensive end Dylan Wynn and CB Joe Rankin.

So we've cut Lenz, Dylan Wynn, Rankin, and McDaniel

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

Forget how I feel about cutting the kid ///// Look at the reaction from team mates ! This will all pass for sure ,but right now a couple of team leaders aren't real keen on the cut !

Who would you like them to keep at WR?

I need to see the rest of the cuts before I disagree with this one just yet.

first, let me say I think we should have kept Lenz over Mayle and Pryor. I agree that it's hard to get people to buy into your message about hard work and toughness keeping either of those other two over him.

That being said, the stats should not be a factor. The preseason's leading rusher (DET - Zenner) and receiver (WAS - Ross) were both cut by their teams.

I would claim Zenner.

devlin was cut too, so manziel must be fine..I'd have no problem adding Rice or P. Thomas as a vet back..I think both would be better than what we have.

He was pretty injured that year IIRC. That said, I still do not want him at all.

Browns preliminary trade discussions with Cowboys included talks about Terrance West, but no deal. Cleveland asked for too much, sources say

It is pretty clear that something is going on with West. Either he is being floated in trade rumors to try and send a message or he's actually getting traded. If he's cut it tells you what we (and the rest of the league) think of him.

Intriguing. Are they trying to make a roster spot available?

So pettine had this to say about Lenz and still he cuts him:

"We think a lot of Josh," coach Mike Pettine said. "All he's done is come in and done everything we've asked of him. He gets open. He catches the football. He's very productive. He's made the most of his opportunity."

Wow. seriously and we keep mayle?

This kind of reminds me of the hoopla over CJ Jones a few years ago. Had big preseason games against other team's scrubs. We let him go and he never made the big time.

I wish we would have kept Lenz over Mayle, but I keep going back to the preseason game against Buffalo. For some reason Buff's slot CB, who gets a lot of PT according to the announcers, was in the game late covering Lenz. Lenz could not get open.

Mayle seems terrible though. I would have gone with the guy who can actually catch.

I'll say this...I'm sure this is an agonizing time for coaches and GMs. They have to consider a multitude of factors and have to make moves that they aren't sure about. But you got to get to 53.

One thing that will make me pretty unhappy, though, is if Pett wanted Lenz and Farmer wanted Mayle and that wasn't a consensus decision.

RE: Manziel...read his arm is still a problem despite the cuts of Lewis and Devlin, and it has put the Browns in a precarious position.

What is the rule about practice squad designation? Listening to ESPN New York, they keep talking about Tebow going on to the Philly practice squad and now with the mention of Devlin going to our PS I though both would be ineligible for practice squad designation.

I believe that Tebow would have too many active games ..... but Devlin should be eligible.

Looks like I was right except for Poyer making the team instead of Draughn. We did keep 4 TE and a FB. (so far, anyway)

Oh, and I had the team keeping OL MIller. It looks like Seymour is on the roster? (I thought he was cut)

Pullard gone too ... all the STs aces make it

so we kept bademosi, carder and moore. We must be anticipating tons of punting with our best player: Andy Lee ... Our STs better be the best in the league

Yes we do.

One of the cut OL was said to be going to be signed to the PS, and back on the 53 "soon".

Odd that we have 27 on defense and only 23 on offense.

yes only 6 OL right now.

McDonald's agent tweeted that he'll be back on the 53 in a short time though. So we'll be fluctuating the numbers of WRs/RBs/DBs I'd assume
