BILOXI, Miss. — A Mississippi man is accused of biting off the nose of another man after the two had a running argument stemming from a round of golf, authorities said

Mark Curtis Wells, 51, of Biloxi was charged with felony mayhem, WXXV-TV reported.

According to a news release from the Bay St. Louis Police Department, officers responded to a report of an assault at about 9:30 p.m. CST on Monday.

Authorities determined that Wells, the victim and others had been arguing about a round of golf that had been played at the Bridges Golf Course at the Hollywood Casino resort in Biloxi, The Sun-Herald reported.

The argument ended in the parking lot of the casino, where police found the victim with a “disfiguring facial injury,” according to the police news release.

“The investigation determined that suspect, Mark Curtis Wells, bit the nose off of the victim,” Bay St. Louis police Chief Toby Schwartz said.

After allegedly biting the victim, Wells fled the casino parking lot in a dark-colored Tesla, the release stated.

Wells was booked into the Hancock County Jail at 11:46 p.m. Wednesday and released from custody less than an hour later after posting bail of $50,000, according to online booking records.

Wells is facing a maximum prison sentence of up to seven years if he is convicted, the Sun-Herald reported. Mississippi state law defines felony mayhem as a premeditated felony crime committed with the intent to kill in which the suspect mutilates, disfigures, disables or destroys someone’s tongue, eye, lip, nose, limb or another body part, according to the newspaper.

Don't blame them for sniffing out their next story.
It's what they're trained to do- have a 'nose for news.'

Nose for the news, my asthma! Nearly every hack acts like nostrildamus when the majority of them don't know snot.
Even when they have something to really run with, they usually bugger it up!
