Many years ago, we had a thread that popped up in the "Gameday/Looking Back" forum. It was entitled: "It's My Fault...."
Posters took turns sharing how each were to blame for CLE's most recent Sunday afternoon debacle. It was one of the funniest, cleverest exchanges I'd read in a long time. On ANY of my message boards of the time. Went on for more than a page, if I recall. Laffs aplenty, with some scathing Browns gallows humor. Everyone was on-board. We were all of like mind- and we managed to have a great time, wallowing in our shared misery. At the time, I thought it was the perfect antidote to how dark the season had been, and actually made me feel a touch closer to the board... misery loves company, and all.
When I read
bone's first post, I thought, "This could go somewhere, and maybe be like that thread years ago-" I was ready to jump on.
I think the passing years have stripped some of our camaraderie from us. Or maybe I'm remembering a time when I was unaware of thread/interposter subtexts. At any rate, it's been a long time since we've been able to enjoy a thread like that. Those pun-heavy threads that popped up spontaneously are fewer and farther apart, as well. A little something has been lost from this place over time, and I miss it. We had a s# ier team, but were better fans/friends.
I'm no one to preach; over the years, I've dropped my fair share of turds into the punch bowl as well.
This one just hit me, because I felt like there was potential for some Olde-Schoole freestyle creative flexing. We got some smart, funny people here. We just seem to be in a rut that keeps us from letting our funny out.

I feel mostly responsible as for the past 23 years I have failed to find a true Lucky Cleveland Browns shirt.
I feel mostly responsible because
I washed my lucky Quincy Morgan 81 jersey (for the first time) the day before the 'Dwayne Rudd Helmet Toss Game.' S#'s been wrong, ever since-
