I knew that, Dawg wink... I was just joining the joke.

You know, I've never 'slapped a gag order' on anyone here (I understand this is your first time, right?). Even the trolls.

Rarely does anything I read here make me truly angry. Most of the POV's that I disagree with in here are the same ones I've disagreed with for years before I came here... so there's no real anger left. Anger's for young men. Now is that time of life for dispassionate observation and rational thought. Time is shorter. Shouting didn't work. Time to try something different. It's what keeps me coming back, without getting pssd.

Now, Trolls?

Trolls get I.D'ed and profiled early... and then I just scroll past them. Some, I recognize from their sigs/avatars, and some from the infantile and excessive use of rofl ...every time they poke some other poster's 'hornet's nest.' I leave them active so that I don't have to guess who's just being 'put on blast' in the active thread. Saves time, and satisfies casual curiosity. In all, this is a pretty good board... and the list of trolls is pretty small (makes it easier to predict which bridges they'll be hanging 'round, you know?).

So, tonight at the football game, I saw the girls dad. (the girl that asked my daughter if it was her dad or grandpa that walked the dog)

He laughed, and we talked. And then he got all "hey, it's dumb for both of us to go up town to get our girls after practice. Let's work something out."

Again, my daughter plays on the freshman team, his daughter is actually 10, and a manager for the varsity team.

That seemed cool to me. Plus, he has 2 other, younger kids, and he wondered if Sooga would be interested in "sitting" for them. I won't use the term "baby sitting", because the ages of his kids are 10, 8, and 3.

As we were talking, Sooga walked by and I said "hey, come here. Would you be interested in watching his kids on occasion?"

Sooga was all over that, although it will be after volleyball is over. The dad is a basketball coach at a different school The mom is an assistant softball coach here.

So, walking Dummy the dog, and stopping in at my neighbors to chat has translated into: laughs, and a job for my daughter, only 3 houses away. Can't get much better than that.

i'm not sure.

my boy said if you mix up the strains throughout the day then it's possible.

but say if i smoke white widow all day, then eventually it's not gonna do anything.

i had made hash oil this week to make some cookies and such. so it's gonna be a very different kick to it.

oh and we killed what little liquor we had yesterday. i don't like smoking and drinking. i dunno how or why people do it. i just stick to weed now solo dolo.

Alcohol makes you feel the weed more. I find a few (3-5) gravity bong hits every hour can keep me high all day.

I remember only ignoring A2D. He was a good dude though. His opinions on the forums, like many of us, were overstated. That said, I've had more than a handful of pleasant talks with him about a video game we played. He's a p. good guy. I wonder how he's doing.

Just sold a TON of crap at the fall addition of this bi-annual consignment sale. Can't wait to see what our total amount was. It's a little extra cash PLUS a little less clutter.

Also, my wife just got home w/ our new kitten & we're surprising our daughters with it when my in-laws bring them home.

BONUS, we will have got 5 or so hours kid-free. So quiet. Soooo peaceful.

Had an excellent work day in my old college town. Had time to stop and see a college classmate at his business. It's going very well for him. Anyone in Northern Indiana needs a tombstone, message me. This guy does the whole deal: Sells them, sandblasts them, custom designs them, sets them, etc.

Took a cruise to the college, to the hospital where my son was born, to the bar we used to frequent, to the place I lived with 9 other guys, to the place I got for myself when I was out of college. Hadn't been back there in over 20 years. Probably 23-24 years.

Stopped at my brother's place of business to see him and my sis in law. Got introduced to the employees.........as "this is my brother, the one I talk about so much, read you his e-mails......the brother that likes the Browns . Has shot a tree to death.", etc.

They all knew me.

Avoided a wreck.

Got home, and headed straight to our Athletic Boosters meeting, got home from that, finished up work, took Dummy the dog on a walk, was informed by my daughter she needs to be up early for a meeting at school. Almost had my leg broken by my 17 lb. dog while playing "pillow fight" with him. I throw the pillows, he avoids them (mom was gone already) But the little son of a gun rammed my leg, and it hurt. How it didn't break something on his body I don't know.

Living the dream. Busy, making enough to get by. Just enjoying life, even the tough parts.

Positive:

First Classics gig this weekend.

Our guest soloists arrived today. The Önder Piano Duo: Ferhan and Ferzan. Yup. Twins. Lemme repeat that: Twins. And yeah, these Turkish girls are fiiiine. Play they butts off, too.

They're doing this big work by their fellow countryman/composer , Fazil Say- and dude writes some of the coolest, most accessible Art Music today. This piece we're doing has all kinds of exotic percussion instruments, and parts of it are louder than a rock concert. Some of it is so intimate and longing, it raises the hairs on my arms.

It uses two Steinway grand pianos, arranged like this, at the front of the stage:

...but they always play an encore sitting together at one piano. That's always... um- 'special.' wink

Here they are, playing a different piece by the same composer I mentioned earlier, followed by a Tango, written by Astor Piazzola:

Yeah.... some weeks at work don't suck.

Last week, a neighbor girl thought I might be a grandpa. Today, a customer was amazed that I have a 27 year old son. She said I looked like I was in my late 20's.

Perspective: The girl that thought I was a grandpa is about 10. The lady that thought I was in my late 20's is 90.

Add to that this week of work was phenomenal! If every week could be like this one, I'd work part time.

On top of that, the weather is absolutely unbelievable. I love it.

And lastly, Sooga had practice after school, then went to a friends house. Then went to the football game, and is spending the night at another friends house. So, my wife and I went out to eat with another couple.

I am working tomorrow, but I can decide when. I'll sleep in, then go to work when it suits me. (sadly, since I can sleep in, I'll be awake at 6:30 ) Afternoon to myself, until a friend and I head out to meet our wives and kids in Toledo to go out to eat.

Life is good. I'm enjoying it now, because it could change in a heart beat.

I went to a training class for church tonight, and I was in a group with a man whose name I recognized as being the same as a man who was my area supervisor when I worked for Wendy's back in the early 1980s. We were paired off for an exercise. I asked him if he worked for Wendy's way back then, and he was shocked, but his face lit up and he said that he was. We were supposed to find out about one another as much information as we could in 2 minutes, and when the exercise ended, he said "We have everyone here beat!". lol

I can only really remember 4 or 5 people from that job ...... the manager, who we (crew) were all pretty sure was cheating on his wife with this cute little 18 year old girl. (who was also crew) She had this huge conversion van, with a bed in the back, and the manager would pop in at the end of her shift ..... they would take off for a while ..... and then she would drop him off and he would leave without stopping into the store at all. That was always kind of suspicious. Then there was this other really cute 16 year old girl, who had a kid who was 2 years old. (which was kind of shocking in those days) She had become pregnant when she was only 13 or 14. I used to give her a ride to or from work on occasion, and we became friends. She was too young for me. However, there was this really stocky kid I worked with, and he really liked her a lot, and he kept asking me, "Do you think that she'd go out with me if I asked her?" I told him to ask her and find out. She kept asking me, "Do you think that he wants to go out with me?". lol Finally he asked her, and I kept trying to extricate myself from their dating life, but after like 4 dates he still hadn't kissed her, and she asked me if I thought that he really liked her, and he asked me if i thought he should kiss her .... and then about 3 or 4 weeks later, she asked me how you know if it's love, or "just a thing". Heck, some 30+ years later and I'm still trying to figure that one out. crazy rofl

Anyway, just kind of cool, and it really brought back this flood of memories.

Wife, daughter, sis in law and 2 nephews and another lady and her 2 kids were going to go to Toledo yesterday to go shopping. I, bro in law, and the other lady's husband were going to meet them to eat, later in the day.

Bro in law had to work, so he was out. The other guy decided (he likes shopping) "Hey, why don't we all go at 1:00. He threw me under the bus.

So, I went at 1. The 5 guys (me, him, and 3 male kids) rode in my vehicle, and the 5 women went in a different vehicle.

Left at 1, got home at 10:30. Take away the "eat out" time (just over an hour), and the 90 minute drive time (there and back, combined) that's 6 hours of "shopping". I hate shopping.

But, I made it. That is my positive from yesterday. I survived.

When we got home my daughter asked if I had a good time. I said "Yeah. Let's make sure to do it again in a year."

Sounds good.

My eating for today consisted of a left over ham and cheese sub my wife made for her and Sooga. (well, she made 3. I ate mine after the game). But, I put one of the left over chicken breasts on it.

My condolences to you, their families, and your family.

Man, you just never know when the Lord will call us.

I pray for you, and the families involved, for comfort in what has to be a time of incredible pain and suffering.
