There is no leadership. There is no desire. There is no toughness. There is very little talent. The coach shows nothing. The players show nothing. Nobody cares but they ALL got paid for today's "effort". Keep laughing all the way to the bank guys. And someone PLEASE tell me why Dwayne Bowe is STILL on this roster? But by all means...please continue to support this team by going to the games and buying their garbage. Keep Ray Farmer? Keep Mike Pettine? Please. Keep dreaming. This team SUCKS.

McCown wont be cleared until probably after the bye and by then we should know a lot more about Johnny.

CFRS15 and OldCold, a lot of the dinking and dunking is just due to a lot of checking down. I think we will see a lot more deep throws the next couple of weeks with Manziel. its his strength.

I agree IF Johnny plays. I'm not sure McCown was pulled for the head shot so much as an arm injury, although I think he got concussed again too.

I don't want McCown to be injured. He has played well. But it is probably best for the future of the team if he can't play. Pettine will not bench McCown if he is healthy.

The 2015 Browns are a losing team not because of QB play, but because they have lost the run battle in every loss.

Turbin/Duke/Crowell = 19 runs for 56yds

Gurley/Cunningham = 23 runs for 139yds

Go look up the RB stats in every loss this season. This is why we lose.

Shelton pick was a catastrophe. I saw Meder in for Shelton in back to back crucial run situations in the 4th Qtr. Shelton has not recorded a tackle today, he makes ZERO impact and is barely in on 30-40% of the plays.

Passing up on playmakers at WR and RB in back to back drafts hurt just as much. Benjamin is not a starting WR in the NFL. Duke and Crowell aren't workhorse starting RBs. The genius Farmer took West and Mayle, who aren't even on the team anymore, passing up on the likes of Devonta Freeman, TJ Yeldon, Jordan Matthews, O.Beckham, M.Bryant, A.Robinson and many more

That's why they fully deserve to be fired whe this mess of a season is finally over.

Pettine: 2-10 (his record in last 12 games coaching the Browns)

McCown: 2-16 (his record in his last 18 starts)

The ineptitude from the top down is simply astonishing.

I'm having flashbacks to the Shurmur era.

Zero leadership. No plan or direction. Players going through the motions.

The '99 reincarnation of the Browns is a 16 year long nightmare and counting.

Agreed, he has played well. And likely best for McCown's health if he doesn't play. Pet: please show some mercy.

Actually the center and the QB call the protections. And if the WRs cannot get open, that will make the QB hold the ball waiting on them.

Right. You were blaming the entire offensive line for the problems. How are they responsible for the wide receivers?

Plain and simply, Josh McCown doesn't know how to win. His record indicates he is a perennial loser at this level.

Why anyone would expect THAT to change because he came to Cleveland, well, must be kidding themselves.

Just saying...time to see what Manziel can do before the draft.

Farmer should have drafted receivers these last two years. The draft was deep with WRs but Farmer passed on them. Just look at Julio Jones in ATL.

Both Farmer and O'Neil must be replaced after this season. Out D has not improved at all, and Farmer seriously hurt this franchise in his first two drafts and FA transactions. It is obvious at this point.

IF you cannot block the D-lineman in front of you and your WRs are not getting open = a QB that will appear to hold the ball too long but get killed. The offense work as a unit. If O-line and WRs are not doing their job, then we will have the results of today.

How does a QB hold the ball too long AND the offensive line can't block? Those two things don't add up.

That was the gut punch. Time to look forward. I will be irritated if Manziel doesn't get the rest of the season.

Some called for it a game or two ago, a bit premature IMO, but now I am on board. Time to see what we have in him as we have some serious decisions to make this off season. We don't need to be in the fog about what we might have, or not have in Mr. Manziel.

Also, my son texted me that we need to sign Barnidge to a contract and let Benji walk....but Farmer will do the opposite....I agree....Barnidge is money in the bank, Benji is a flash in the pan who costs more games then he wins.

My hope is Farmer isn't making those decisions.

Once again, it is like a broken record with the Browns this season. Tons of Penalties, Turnovers, Can't run the ball and can't stop the run. Lack of imagination in the offense and lack of pass rush in the defense. Lack of coaching ability.

Recipe for disaster.

Along the same line of starting Manziel. Gilbert and Erving need to be playing too. Get the growing pains out of the way and/or see if these guys sink or swim.

Really, Dwayne Bowe should be cut without pay and settle it in the courts. Thanks Farmer for blowing 9 million on this bum.

I was at the bar with a St. Louis fan. They said the rams have the number one defense. If so, no shock that we couldn't get a drive going. Also, the refs sucked!!!!

Every time I looked, Erving was playing at RG. What's with Greco?

This team lacks difference makers. Some of this can be out on Farmer, but a lot of it is the roster of players that was already in place prior to him becoming GM.

We need players who make teams prepare for them. Right now we lack those players. We have a roster full of competent guys, but no guys who really worry other teams. That is what we need. Anyone can build a "competent" roster in the NFL. We need those guys who can flip the field, and who take a 1st down play and turn it into a TD.

there was so much bad playing today .. but one thing REALLY stood out to me

Mack/Bitonio have REALLY regressed ... they look AWFUL

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

This was always going to be a problem. It's even more of a problem when you are facing one of the best defensive lines in the league.

but that's what i've been saying for a while now.

if our line is only good against bad teams, then we weren't really good in the first place.

Any bona-fide franchise QB would be looking just fine behind our line. Not saying this means McCown is completely TERRIBLE considering his age and body of work, just think the line is pretty close to being as solid as advertised in the pre-season.

Minus the penalties . . . tsktsk

I'm not arguing a point. The information is clear. I don't understand your comment.

McCown has been on some bad teams but he simply doesnt make plays that will win u games. I believe Johnny will make those plays. Only one way to find out. Apparently Josh does have a shoulder injury but man his eyes were glazed over and he was wobbly the last 10 mins he was on the field.

His holding onto the ball isn't a line or receiver problem. The real issue is his inability feel pressure. Good qb's feel the pressure and either move or get rid of the ball. He just stands there. I don't know how many times I have seen him get sacked when he could have thrown the ball at someone's feet and live to play another down. There is a reason he is a career backup, he's just not that good. Even his big game he was very mediocre.

I wish it was right, just as you say. I don't know how when so many things we can control like tackling, penalties, tackling and fumbles devastate us so much.

Was taught a lot of that is mental. Seems worse now than earlier this year. Might be wrong, but these should be the first to improve. Can't happen without them in my experience.

Mourg, that's because Barron speared him helmet to helmet and of course no call. If that was Romo, Brady, Manning, etc. that would have been 15 yards and possible targeting. Barron lowered his helmet and hit him right under the facemask... horrible refs today. Not that would have made a difference in the game they still would have lost but man that's hard to watch as a fan.

And has locked in more. Concussion today after that helmet to helmet hit?

Why can't the Browns sign both? Other than being a cheap franchise, I don't get the comment. Cleveland folks routinely rag on the Dolans for being cheap, but it seems the Browns consistently are one of the cheapest teams in the NFL.

I'm not a football genius but if you are going to run a WR screen why not put Bowe out there to block instead of 5'10" 165 pound Benjamin? He might make an effort to block but man I'm 40 years old and I think I could run right through his poor blocking. 9 million a year he could at least be on the field to block on screens and sweeps...

Now that we can pretty much say the season is over, play Johnny so you know what to do with him next year - year 3 of 4 contract wise - will he be resigned, traded or released next year?. We'd better know what to do with the first pick and Josh does not seem to be the answer next year.

Even if they try for a FA QB, play Johnny for trade value if nothing else and maybe Davis is the answer...With the hits our QBs take, Davis may be out there soon enough.

I hope Josh is o.k. I don't want to see him or any other Browns player get hurt. I still love the Browns as much as I ever did but what is really sad is I never expect them to win anymore. If they do it is a surprise. I live in Patriots territory and it is just the opposite; they are never expected to lose. The losses don't even bother me like they used to. I expect them and have gotten immune to them, sad. Well it's almost Halloween and we are pretty much out of it. That's a normal season for us. Last year was an aberration. frown

If the owner is really serious about winning then he will fire Pettine and Farmer this off season. Browns fans deserve better than this!
