Minnesota is just a mess right now. I'm not too worried. Minnesota has a nice defense, but that offense is a train wreck.
In advanced stats, OSU has the best secondary in college football. Minnesotans QB is just trying to survive.

We don't run a very CB friendly scheme. They're forced to play 1 on 1. It puts a lot of stress on them as a unit, but they've done a phenomenal job for the most part. They don't usually give up big plays.

Cardale looking rusty and that was a fumble...how do you review that and not give it to OSU?

WE DON'T NEED A QB BEFORE WE GET A LINE THAT CAN PROTECT HIM my two cents...

nice reversal on the targeting call...I thought for sure they would keep it just because it was a hard hit on the QB!

At least we won.
--I realized I wasn't as excited for this week's game as I was for the game that JT started. Not long into the game, I realized I was correct to feel that way.
--The tempo of our offense is so much slower w/Cardale in there. The clock is constantly running down towards zero and we have to blow timeouts, take a penalty, or run a play where we out of kilter. Cardale just doesn't appear to be a smart football player.
--I will give him credit for making a couple of big runs for us.
--The defense had a pretty good game. We dominated the LOS for most of the game. What's 59s name again? Lewis? He is improving.
--I hold my breath w/a few guys on this team. Let me explain:
--Marshall: I feel he is either going to break a long run or fumble.
--Braxton: I feel he is either going to do something sensational and/or get hurt.
--Zeke: I feel he can take it to the house on any play.
--Cardale: Please don't turn it over or do something stupid, like turn the wrong way on a hand-off.
Not sure I am justified in all of those, but seriously, I actually find myself holding my breath in anticipation when those guys are involved in the play.
We won. We should remain in the top 4. It's kind of a bummer that Sparty lost, though. Beating an undefeated team would have helped.

you're right.
for me, it seems like Cardale's pocket presence is almost non existent. the offense really does look sluggish when he's under center.
and then he put the ball in places that will get our players killed. some of those passes that were high, i was actually glad the WR didn't catch them.

Geez why does Cardale look totally out of rhythm?
If he needs to play again, I say dial up some deep bombs, what I feel Cardale is best throwing, to help him with his shorter passing game which was hideous.
Cardale also needs to get better at feeling pressure. Thankfully he's a big guy, cause they corner blitz him and that dude wasn't even touch and had every bit of steam built up as possible.
I will say, once he squares those shoulders up - Cardale becomes a wrecking ball on them scrambles!

The short answer to what's wrong with is Cardale is "no Devin Smith". But it true that he doesn't even look like the same guy who was so calm and collected in the pocket last season for 3 games. Earlier in the season, he almost seemed to be playing like he was waiting to get pulled for JT, but that wasn't going to happen last night. Only thing I can figure is that teams watched his film and figured out how to confuse him. He's still got the howitzer and he's still fun to watch run, but its sure looking like he cost himself a lot of $$ by not entering the 2015 NFL draft. I would have guessed late 1st round, early 2nd if he had done that. Now, he's probably a 3rd-4th-5th round project, depending on who else comes out. I'm still a Cardale fan, but JT should start vs Illinois.

watching last night, he seemed to personify 'holding the ball too long'...it is almost like he would see the receiver and wait an extra second for them to be 'more open' and then the ball would be late or behind. Almost like he was thinking too much - if that makes sense?? One announcer made the comment that he was tying put place the ball to much instead of just making the throw and then allowing the receiver to run under it.
Good news is that we won and I'm splitting hairs on being 9-0...I think most of my life OSU has always played games close more often that naught so nothing new there.
Kudos to Meyer and the Buckeyes for continuing to just win baby!

General thought.
Ohio State, hmm. This playoff system, was designed, it was instituted to find a way to make sure that Ohio state isn't in it, and we can get a matchup of two southeren schools in the National championship game.
The selection committee is not unbiased, because they are human, and no human can be completely unbiased, over a long period of time.
The Fact that Ohio state got in and won it last year, is an incentive for the committee to find ANY WAY to keep Ohio State or another Big 10 team out of it this year.
The fact that its, 4 slots, and Notre Dame + 4 big conferences, + the lesser conferences, would mean that the selection committee would want to include
everybody.
Somebodys got to be out. All last year they tried and tried to condition fans to inevitability that the big 10 champ would be out.
Somebody's got to be out, Ohio St, won it, so nobody owes them anything.
Alabama, barely got beat by Ohio St, so somebody owes them a 2nd chance
Oregon, won 1 game , so the Pac 12 champ, somebody owes them a 2nd chance.
FSU, if I recall correctly, got beat by a lot., so if they are in the same conf, as Clemson, then nobody owes Clemson anything.
Whatever, the first 4 years I expect the committee to spread the available slots around, to the top 5 conf's, + notre dame, + someone from the lesser conf's
And Ohio State, having a trophe, isn't owed any 2nd chance.
So, With Mich st. losing, and Cardale Jones authoring the WORST OHIO STATE OFFENSE IN THE LAST SEVERAL YEARS. If Cardale plays even a half against any of their remaining opponents, OSU will LOSE.
So, since Mich St lost, Iowa is the shoe in for the opponent in the big 10 champ game. So all Ohio st has to do, is not lose to +-at Illinois, (look up the history , Illinois has zero respect for the bucks, and its deserved) +- Mich St. ( Fine, the refs can assure this one, as they assured the MSU victory 2 years ago in the big 10 champ game.
+- Michigaan, ( first year with Harbaugh)
+- The Big 10 champ game, ( vs probably Iowa)
Stage is set for Ohio St to lose one of the first 3 and win the big 10 champ game and not be in the four team playoff.
( last night I remembered these guys names) Powell had a missed int, late in the Minnesota game last night. And somebody had a missed int, that he looked into his hands, , man I feel I could have caught that one 4 out of 5 times. And the buckeyes missed a 35 yd field goal.
No way, the Bucks, the way they are playing right now, are even getting IN, let alone repeating.
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Hopefully, because MSU will be tough, and Michigan is gonna be a real upset alert.
crazy how TCU and LSU got exposed though. hell Clemson almost got caught sleeping.

yep - next week is the final tuneup before basically the playoffs...MSU / Mich...Iowa has Min / Purdue / Nebraska so even if they go 2/3 they will win since Wis has 2 losses. 2 games + B1G championship game then BCS Bowl then Championship game! only 6 games to win before we are repeat championships!

The Michigan St game will be either a 3:30 game or a Noon kick
Ohio State has preferred that the game before Michigan is not a night game and this goes along with that notion.

Cardale is really off. Not prepared. Wooden. Hard to watch this punchless offense.

J/C .....(I didn't see this posted, so just in case .... if it was, then just ignore it) Barrett reinstated as the starter: Ohio State football: Back to J.T. Barrett, Buckeyes hope offense gets rolling again | cleveland.com http://www.cleveland.com/osu/index.ssf/2015/11/ohio_state_football_back_to_jt.html#incart_riverCOLUMBUS, Ohio -- J.T. Barrett was in the press box on Saturday night as Ohio State struggled to put away Minnesota. He watched the offense, which had looked so good just two weeks prior, struggle some with Cardale Jones at quarterback. If anything it was reassurance of what everyone already knew, the offense moves better, looks better with Barrett. The weapons in this offense mesh better with Barrett's skills than they do with those of Jones. And Ohio State gets that back this week. Barrett will start on Saturday against Illinois, Urban Meyer said Monday. "He'll be the starter unless he does not have a good week of practice or something," Meyer said. You can read between the lines there. It would take something drastic for Jones to get another start at quarterback. Ohio State has one week to get its offense back clicking before Michigan State comes to Ohio Stadium, and the Buckeyes close the season at Michigan. The question is whether or not they'll pick up right where they left off against Rutgers. This isn't exactly a normal week for Barrett. He missed Saturday's game because of a drunk-driving charge incurred during Ohio State's bye week. Barrett is scheduled to have a court date in Columbus on Tuesday morning. So he'll have that to balance with trying to get this offense back on track against Illinois. Jones didn't play poorly against Minnesota. He completed 12 of 22 passes for 187 yards and a touchdown. He ran 12 times for 65 yards and a touchdown. More than at any other point this season, Jones looked like a real running threat -- which was supposed to be the biggest distinction between Jones and Barrett. "Much different rusher," Meyer said of Jones. "Cardale did nice job on quarterback draws, more slower, developing plays. Then J.T., as you look back, his history of the more quick hitting and a little more Braxton (Miller) style. It's just a much different style of offense, but we have the ability to do both." Barrett's style is what Ohio State needs with some receivers injured. So it's back to Barrett, who had five touchdowns and 324 total yards against Rutgers. "I think the big thing is he's a legitimate threat running the ball," offensive tackle Taylor Decker said. "He has an incredibly high football IQ. He understands what to check to, and the offense is just faster."
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

This playoff system, was designed, it was instituted to find a way to make sure that Ohio state isn't in it, You really need to seek help dude.. What was OSU after about week 7? 15 or 16? and as a 1-loss team they still played their way back into it leapfrogging a bunch of teams along the way, edging out other 1-loss teams... like TCU and Baylor.. if it was really designed to keep OSU out, allowing either of the 1-loss Big 12 teams in would have made sense... but they didn't. If OSU wins out and still doesn't get in, let me know... then you will have an argument.
