You mean like your calling the Browns "Clowns" in your signature .... after you lambasted people for calling Banner, Lombardi, and Haslem "Bozos"?

It seems to me that's the very definition of hypocrisy.

Why on earth would he go out to a club/bar last night? If this is true, perhaps he's trying to get released

Or maybe he can't stop drinking.

I hate to label people, but he sure is "quacking like a duck" with regards to his drinking. If he is an alcoholic, then he's on a quick, downward spiral.

I saw some good things in this thread, things to build on. I'm enjoying the process.

Is Gruden making a play for the coaching or GM job? Because that would be a nice development.

If he were to come here, he would be both. That is not a good thing if you ask me.

He never met a quarterback he didn't like. He and Mary Kay would get along great.

just a for what its worth comment. Jon is from Sandusky and spends the vast majority of his time in Ohio. I think this would be a very inticing position for him as he could probably get whatever he wanted. Whether or not he would want Manziel as his QB is another story but he certainly is no fan of the offensive weapons on this team.

there are a few vocal antiManziel folks on here but the vast majority believe the kid has talent and needs a shot but he is just a bit of a dumbass. I have been one of his biggest supporters and believe the kid can be a stud for the next 10 plus in the league but he has got to stop being a dumbass lol.

The coach doesnt want to play him but is giving him his shot and does the one thing he was told not to do. He knew pet was just looking for any excuse to go back to McCown and he gave it to him.

95% of this he brought upon himself. He fed the media train and didnt want to go out unless there was someone there to take his photo and post it on instagram. Now he cant go out without someone posting his pic on instagram or selling the photo to TMZ. Its not right, its not fair but he fed the monster that is devouring his career.

You got that right, the only losers are the fans. Pet and farmer will walk away with millions for half assing it. Johnny's contract is guaranteed and when he goes he has the arm talent to land another job.

Agree with every word of this.

On a side note and just a general observation on Gruden...I think he unfairly gets a reputation for "praising everyone". He may be guarded in his comments sometimes, but he's brutally honest even if it's in a veiled type of way. I found his comments about Manziel to be encouraging. But I am starting to question how bad Manziel really wants this. It's almost seems he's self destructing on purpose.

I've never been so adamant before that a regime has to go.

There is no way Pett and Farmer can dig themselves out of this hole.

They are two highly incompetent individuals.

I get more and more angry every time I think of how Farmer has treated our own players.

There's PLENTY of reasons to criticize Pettine. Things that most likely will get him fired in spite of the desire to avoid blowing it all up again and the fact that nobody proven to be better would ever come here.

But I will NEVER criticize him for how he's handled friggin' Manziel. The fact that what's going on with this idiot seems to be the last straw for people and the disgrace that this franchise has become is beyond me.

For whatever reason I'm still dense enough to hope it will get better and ride it all out. I rank Farmer's exit as #1 priority with Johnny's exit being a close #2. No pun intended...

I somewhat agree with you. The way he handled this latest Manziel incident was appropriate, but his overall handling of Manziel has been piss poor at best. All across the league teams are preparing and developing their young QBs, and ours is taking scout team reps in favor of a 36 year old journeyman perennial loser QB. I think part of Manziel's recent behavior is a big eff you to Pettine.

This team is filled with a bunch of loser, choir boys...just the way Pettine likes it. If you're not a choir boy, he has little use for you.

Here is what kills me about you. Your hate for me started [at least in print] during the debates we had about Gordon. You defended the guy w/zeal. I said the Browns couldn't trust him due to the fact that he had been "caught" so many times for breaking the rules. Real suspensions. Real arrests. You went off on me.

And now you have a completely different take on Manziel who does not have any suspensions or arrests in college or the pros.

You are the biggest freaking hypocrite on the board!!!

I am associating with myself. If anyone associates himself with my question, that is beyond my control.

Once more, I ask you how that is not hypocrisy. You were relentless in your rebuke of those who would adopt the title "Bozo", given to a few members of the front office by a disgusted media for their behavior. However, now, because it's you, it's fine to call the Browns "Clowns"? Why is that acceptable? It has nothing to do with anyone but you, yourself. Why is that acceptable?

Oh, and there is nothing "un-Christian-like" about calling attention to hypocrisy. You going in that direction was merely an attempt to distract and evade the issue, but it didn't accomplish that.

I would ask that you refrain from calling others hypocrites, if you are unwilling to follow the same standards that you want to set for them.

I can't pull for an AFC team very easily. I do usually pick an NFC team a bit later in the season and follow them through the playoffs/etc.

Last year it was Seattle, this year I think I'm going with Carolina.

Just the facts ma'am. - Sgt. Joe Friday

Me personally, hand him a flask before he runs through that tunnel and let him go get 'em. We're drafting a QB with the first pick next year anyway and Farmer and Pettine are toast.

I was thinking about all the sniping that goes on on this board among decent and highly knowledgeable guys who should be united by their fandom of the Browns. But of course with this team, there is so much to argue about. I wonder what it would be like if we had 3-4 12-win seasons, maybe even won a Super Bowl. Would there still be reason to nitpick and call each other names?

The Steelers and Hawks was also a great game. Man those teams never take their foot off the gas, they try and bury you till the last whistle. Coach cupcake always goes into a shell when he gets a lead, he will never succeed as HC.

I do understand the critical nature of draft position, but that is an emotional tug-of-war...
