Good luck finding a Luck or Manning type. You're gonna be waiting 10-15 years. Sometimes you need to just look for a tier below. Even Luck has turnover problems.

When people say that they're going to wait for a Manning / Luck prospect it's like saying I'm going to wait for the next Lebron James.

Cam newton is no luck.

But guess who's doing better. Neither was Carr or bridge water, but both have their teams hunting for a playoff spot, while luck is throwing g TO's and riding the bench from injuries

So yea, I definitely agree with you. We don't need a luck or manning. We need a guy who can simply get the job done.

Just put this in my last post:

When people say that they're going to wait for a Manning / Luck prospect it's like saying I'm going to wait for the next Lebron James. Well yeah, I'd like arguably the GOAT type of prospect too.

pfft... Newton was the clear #1 draft pick. it wasn't even close.

Newton is the only player in the modern era to, within a one-year span, be awarded the Heisman Trophy, win a national championship, and become the first overall pick in an NFL draft.

But he was luck or manning prospect as you were talking about.

Winston was the clear #1, but nobody called him or mariota a luck or manning prospect.

That's what you said you wanted. I'm simply responding.

I'm saying there is no one QB in this draft that is worthy of a top 15 pick.

I just used two players as examples.

Once the team reached 9 losses, then you can have that conversation.

Forgive me for not throwing in the towel after just 3 games..it's not my nature to quit and give up..ever!

It's not in my nature to quit and give up either when it's something I can control.. then i can fight and I can make a difference. I have no impact on what this debacle does... no amount of belief, fight, or resilience on MY PART, amounts to anything with improving this team.

True of all of us, DC. This contributes to our frustration...

DC... All of us are fans...some give up at the first sign of adversity..some never give up.

Being a Browns fan is not easy..I have a hard time understanding those fans who give up easily.

I wonder what others think of when they see someone wearing Browns gear?

I don't think anyone's giving up easily.

And most are somewhere in between. We are 11 games into our 7th season in 8 years in which we will win less than 6 games.. I'd hardly call this the "first sign of adversity"..

A lot of things are not easy, training for combat, raising kids, sustaining a marriage, starting a business... You see the reward for your hard work, you have a certain amount of control over the outcome... rooting for a football team isn't supposed to be miserable all the time, it's supposed to be a fun distraction from the other miseries of life.

We have 1... count them, ONE... double digit win season since 1995... that's 20 years ago... .we also have 1... count them, ONE playoff game during that same period. For you to say that somebody who is fed up is "giving up easily" is a bit disingenuous to fans who have been loyal through it all... and are just fed up. How long would you expect somebody to stay in a marriage where the bad times outweighed the good times 3:1 for 20 years? Would they be giving up easily?

A combination of humor and pity. If you think they see some kind of nobility in the suffering, you are wrong.

Some people do. I've heard the "I don't know how you do it" line a bunch of times.

The lyrics to Offspring's "Self Esteem" keep coming to mind....

Now I know I'm being used
That's okay, man, 'cause I like the abuse

Browns is the Browns

... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.
