Oh no. Again. Instead of taking the sack and forcing Alabama to use a timeout, the QB threw it away at the last second. How did this team win its division? Saban is such a turd. I bet it feels really good airing that kid out on national TV.

What a tortuous exercise. You Ohio State fans need Florida to somehow win this game, but their QB looks like this is the first time ever playing the position.

Verne Lundquist is straight up rooting for Alabama at this point.
To be fair, I would distance myself from that Florida QB as well.

A Florida player just started complaining about a non-call on a pass interference before the ball even landed.

Hate to say it but this is going like I thought it would. At this point all I do is google the standouts to see if they might be coming out in ththe draft.
Well, Clemson might lose...

Iowa Schmiowa, If Iowa wins, then I argue that no team from the Big10 should be allowed into the final 4 playoff.
And this would be the best thing for the Big10 going forward. Because next year, Iowa, MSU, and Ohio State, could all say that they were railroaded and need an easy door into next years final 4.
But if Iowa wins, they don't deserve in, because they didn't play Ohio State, and Ohio State won it all last year.
If the Natl. champion is from your conference, (i.e. iowa.) and you don't play them, (i.e. ohio state next year)... and if Ohio State goes undefeated, but Iowa's only loss next year is to an 11-1 Mich St. then next year, Ohio State won't deserve in, because they didn't even play the reigning Natl champion, and they were in the same blasted CONFERENCE!.
So, this year. Ohio State doesn't deserve in, they lost late Iowa doesn't deserve in, they didn't play Ohio State.
And Mich St. won't deserve in , if they lose to Iowa.
So in my opinion, only Mich St, should make it in, if they beat Iowa, but if they don't , then some other conference should be in.
The same reason , TCU and Baylor got left out last year. Is the same reason this year, because, Iowa and Ohio ST. did not play each other.
I think it's all going to work out. I think it's likely to be, MSU vs BAmmmmama and Clemson vs Oklaaahoma.
I just have one question? Where in the depths of hades, is Auburn? Where is Arkansas?, Where is Gerogia? If all ya'll thought ya'll could have 12 that would beat ohio state, and this playoff was supposed to put 2, or3, or 4 SEC teams in the championship tournament, then where the flip are ya! Huh? looking from afar off? out of the loop? taking half a decade off?

Too many good games on at one time. They need to find away to spread this out a bit.
Should have had say the PAC 12 Championship game last night and then played the Big Ten or ACC today at noon. I am channel surfing back and forth like crazy.

Let me strengthen my argument.
It's the big 10's fault as a conf, that they are about to have their , (if Iowa wins), their conf. champion be a team that shouldn't even be the higest ranked team in national polls. And because they mucked that up, they don't deserve a team in the playoff.
Now... In week5,6, or 7 of this college football season, who was the overwhelhming #1 Ap voted on team. It was Ohio State.
If Big ten, can't find way for their conf champ, to play them, then Iowa is a paper champion.
This is my arugment, and I'm willing to stick to it in the future, for any conference, as long as were talking about the defending Natl champions, and #1 ranked team, in your own conference... then then yes, an undefeated power 5 conference champion, who never played that other team, doesn't deserve in. Because it's like this. If your conf champ is ranked lower than another team in your conf, nationaly, at the end, then that's how your conf messed it up.
And Ohio State beats Iowa 20 out of 21 years anyways. So does Michigan. Iowa is the little sister of the conf. the backup qb. the 2nd station. the replacement truck. I can't understand any way Iowa could win a Natl title without Ohio State ever getting the chance to knock em down a peg. That title would have to come with an astericks.
It's not going to change the outcome. But its a fun way for me to think.

I get what you are saying. I agree Ohio State could easily be the best team in the country. But, if Iowa wins they deserve to be in the final 4. They are the Big Ten West Champions and Michigan State is the Big Ten East Champions. So in a way beating the champions of the division that Ohio State finished 2nd in would make them legit. Unless you play in the Big 12 no conference has every team play each other. New age in college football.

If Iowa cannot stop MSU's running back, how are they going to stop Alabama's. They can earn the right to go and lose by a lot. It's now a 19 point lead for Clemson in the ACC game.

So are these 2 Big Ten teams. I don't think any of teams will find Iowa or Mich State a picnic. They both can hit and play defense.

Little doubt in my mind, Connor Cook is not 100% healthy. They only tried 2 passes on that long drive.

If MSU wins the national championship, you could argue that the B1G has the top 3 teams in the country. Especially if they dominantly win both games.

What an effort from Scott to reach it over for the TD Absolutely unreal! Dead to rights spins out, reaches out and even had the wherewithal to lift the ball over the dude flying in from the side on the reach. I thought it was soon gonna get knocked loose as he stretched for it. Dang! What a game!

College Football does have a serious problem with bad calls this season.
1) The Miami 8 lateral return vs Duke was atrocious.
2) The Nebraska WR going out of bounds and then comes back in on his own to beat Michigan State. The official threw the hat but not the flag. Very bad.
3) Now the phantom off sides on side kick by North Carolina. Don't know if it cost North Carolina the game because they only had 1 minute to score a Touchdown then they had to convert a 2 pt conversion and still would have had to beat Clemson in OT but it did cost them a chance to win the game.
Not a good season by the stripes to say the least.

I still will be watching closely where the committee ranks Ohio State and Stanford.
If Stanford is ranked higher than OSU it will show just how important winning Conference Championships are to the new ranking process.
If Ohio State stays ahead of Stanford then we will know that it is possible to be considered a better team than a conference champion and in the future a great team without a conference championship can get in even if they do not win their conference.
There is no exact science how teams are selected all we can go by is past presidence so what they do tomorrow will revel insight how they will rank teams next year.
Last season SOS and Conference Championships were the deciding factors.
OSU had the worst lost opposed to TCU. Virginia Tech 6-6 vs Baylor 11-1. Why? Ohio State had a better SOS and won an outright Conference Championship.
The committe seemed to follow that same logic this year when Oklahoma who had a bad loss but was rewarded more for the stregnth of their quality wins Ok State, TCU, Baylor and Conference Championship.
The reason I will be watching OSU and Stanford so close is Stanford has 2 losses but a higher strength of schedule, more quality wins, and a conference championship. OSU has the better record. What the rankings will tell us tomorrow is going forward record matters more than SOS and conference championship or vice versa.

The only way that helps is if they rank Stanford ahead of OSU, they liked OSUs SOS and Conf Title last year, and that would put Stanford over OSU this year..
If OSU is ahead of Stanford, then they are showing that the criteria isn't the same as last years..
And I don't think there ever will be, maybe ever should be, a set criteria.. every season is different.. every top 4 will be different for different reasons..
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

If there was an 8 team playoff, here's likely what it would look like:
1. Clemson 8. Notre Dame
4. Michigan State 5. Stanford
2. Alabama 7. Iowa
3. Oklahoma 6. Ohio State
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

They have talked about the eye test as well. Both years. And clearly, Ohio State is a better team than Stanford.
Frankly, I think Ohio State is the best team in the country and their absence from the playoffs is disappointing, at the very least.
I get that a lot of people hate Ohio State, but they lost to a playoff team on a last second FG in a torrential downpour w/howling winds. Those factors certainly limited Ohio State's more dynamic athletes. Meanwhile, Alabama lost to Ole Miss [who has at least a couple of losses] and Oklahoma lost to Texas [who stinks.] And both of those losses were not affected by the weather.
Oh........and before anyone calls me a homer, go and read my posts about the Browns. LOL

Personally I hope that they rank it as 5. Stanford, 6. Ohio State. Had Clemson or Alabama lost I would have wanted Ohio State to get the 4 spot, but that would be my own personal bias kicking in.
As is, I would rather the precedent be that there is a heavy weight toward winning one of the major conferences. I don't like the idea of there being 5 major conferences, 4 playoff spots, and one conference sending 2 teams. I don't really like the idea to begin with, and more specifically that would just open the door for 2 SEC teams to regularly get in the playoffs in the future. I kind of view the playoffs as a showdown between conference champs, although given the logistics and number of teams in college football, I realize there has to be some subjectivity in the rankings and I'm ok with that. It's more of a sliding scale type thing.

Stanford got beat by a middle of the road Big 10 team in Northwestern. Heck, they got beat-up by Northwestern.
