Then they REALLY DON'T want a GM. Just a glorified scout and yes man.

OK...what other teams hire their coach first and then go out and hire their GM? I don't care how it's done...just looking for opinions from those of you who follow this stuff more closely in terms of organizational make up. All I want is for Haslam to get it right. Cleveland fans are LONG overdue for a winner.
Keep Scheiner out of things. That's a start. Also good to hear that the new guys will have the say on Manziel. Goodbye Johnny. We need serious people to come in here and work. You're not qualified. Thanks. Now go back to the casino, bar or wherever your next party is.
After 55 years, I'm walking away from this dumpster fire. Good luck to everyone who continues to hang on. You'll need it.

You think this leads into a Saban type development? Where the Coach will be a part of the GM hiring... Dream on, even Saban couldn't turn this mess around.

Browns owner Jimmy Haslam said he, wife Dee, consultant, Sashi Brown will hire coach. Then coach will help hire GM. Umm .... isn't that backwards? Every way works. Find the right people. We've done both. Yeah, but what does a business owner, his wife, an attorney and a consultant really know about football skill positions and talent? Scary stuff me thinks

I'm sure that Sashi is just the figure-head for the final say.... It's just a way to structure this so Jimmy has the final say...

Sashi having final say.. does that make sense ? Sounds like a situation a quality GM will want to walk in to.

Sashi Brown to be the new Banner, will hire GM figurehead at later date. Sashi will be in complete control of roster. Including FA and draft. His will be the final say on draft night.
What kind of "GM" will take a job with zero control over the roster and no input on the head coach? A YES MAN.
In essence Sashi Brown, a non-football bean counter will be our GM and President.
This firm better find us one HELL of a football coach because my faith in Sashi Brown drafting our players is zilch. Farmer had more experience.

I wish someone would have asked the real tough questions like if we can go back to the old uniforms and remove the snaggle-toothed dog on all the posters.
At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

The question is: Will it matter who the coach is if he gets stuck with a garbage roster? "GM" to find the talent but Sashi has the final call. Stay tuned I guess.

So ..... we're also "keeping" some coaches .... before the head coach is hired? Really? Is this only till the new coach is hired, or just a forced marriage?

This is the worst I've ever felt about the Browns....and that's really saying something. I feel the same way. I thought this season was the worst I ever felt about the Browns. I now feel even worse. At least this is not a change for the sake of offering hope, because now I have none.

Sashi Brown isn't a GM. He doesn't know how to scout players. Haslam just made Sashi Brown the new Banner. A bean counter with complete roster control. Now he will hire a yes man to take the fall as "GM" if things go wrong and Brown will be the one drafting and signing FA's for the future.

I think we can pretty much forget about Eliot Wolf for GM as that position appears to be nothing more than head of scouting under Haslem.

Could it be that he is putting his team of people who will communicate and collaborate well? That is why the coach will be part of the GM search...His wife and lawyer "SHOULD" tell him the truth and he should trust them...It seemed like all season everyone was on a different page...not saying this will work but if everyone is on the same page and gets along enough to be open and honest, maybe we can move forward in a positive way...
