MARK MY WORDS THE BROWNS HAVE THEIR COACH FOR THE LONG FORESEEABLE FUTURE AND HE IS GOING TO TRANSFORM OUR BROWNS INTO GREATNESS!!! Marked Razorthorns, I know you mean well, but I have two words...SHOW ME! I heard this tune so many times it's getting as obnoxious as Tommy Tutone's song 867-5309.

Is Paul Kruger a 4-3 OLB, DE, or Neither?

So.. a 4-3 D Line would be..
Kruger/A. Bryant Shelton/Starks D. Bryant/Hughes Orchard/Mingo
Not bad?
LBs would need some work.. (Sup Myles Jack?)

LBs would need some work.. (Sup Myles Jack?) I would love to have Jack, but I think we are drafting too early for him. I know Jaylon Smith's knee is torn up, but I would take a shot on him in the fourth round or higher (IEO). It is probably a moot point though. My guess is that we hire Ray Horton.

LBs would need some work.. (Sup Myles Jack?) More like A. Bryant, D. Bryant, and Orchard and a bunch of guys that don't fit. You could put Shelton in as a 2 gap DT on running downs just because we drafted him in the first round but he is also a square peg in a round hole. If we go with a wide 9, draft 4 LB's with the first 4 picks and hope that they pan out or our defense is going to give up record rushing yardage.

It's ok for you to feel that way. I'll just say this. Since the return of the Browns I have never had the vibe I am getting from Hue. I've never gone all in to show my support because I never really felt something other than bleh. I mean I was a little excited about chud and I still think we screwed up not giving him the chance he deserved to build the team up. Anyways when I watched Hue's presser I could feel it. It just clicked for me. I KNOW that Hue is going to do well. He has the leadership we have never had in a coach. He has that charisma that will have players playing like they would die for him. His body language and posture is over flowing with confidence and his attitude is that of a winner who will win no matter what. We have never had that from a coach since our return. We have always had timid little men ready to make excuses to why we would lose and why you should not blame them. Hue is not going to accept excuses or tolerate failure. Our team gets in the dump he is gonna be all over them like a mama bear protecting her cub. You don't have to believe me or trust me but I want to be VERY clear. We finally have that coach we have been waiting for. Hue has the will power and the charisma to make things change. It might not happen this next season as we deal with a young QB but I promise you its coming and coming soon. Every part of my gut is telling me Hue is finally the coach we have needed. My gut is almost never wrong. Take it or leave it, I won't take offense if you doubt me. I just want you to know as fans that you have something special to look forward to though =)
You can't fix stupid but you can destroy ignorance. When you destroy ignorance you remove the justifications for evil. If you want to destroy evil then educate our people. Hate is a tool of the stupid to deal with what they can't understand.

Singletary could end up be a dark horse DC candidate as well. Interesting that he also follows sasha on twitter. I can't think of any reason he would do that outside of a job coming his way.
I know he is a tough and somewhat abrasive coach much like he was as a great player. It would be fun to see him on our sidelines chewing up players who got lazy =) Just so long as he keeps his pants on this time around lol

We will probably switch to a 4-3. It will be a built-in excuse that the powers that be need more time to implement their system. Gotta appease the masses, you know....

I don't know if we've ever been really set up for a 3-4, I think this past yr. might be close. But I think were well suited to go with 4-3. Most of our DL is 4-3 guys who we moved around trying to fit in a 3-4. We need one more OLB and maybe a MLB. Not to hard at all.

My choice hasn't changed - Horton. If we go Schwartz I wouldn't be too upset.
4-3/3-4.
As was explained by Mangini. Everyone shows different looks now a days. He stated the reason the slight advantage is to go with a base 3-4 is that LBs have more versatility in giving looks. They can always come up and put their Hand down on the grown but DL cannot get up and be credible in a 2 point look. SO with a 3-4 you can have more looks.
For that reason I hope we go with a base 3-4 defense and I love attack defenses that can put pressure on the QB and make tackles for losses on running plays.
jmho - Whatever direction we go, We need to put pressure with 4 that is a big big key for defenses to become dominant and top 5!
Defense wins championships. Watson play your butt off! Go Browns! CHRIST HAS RISEN! GM Strong! & Stay safe everyone!

Most of our DL is 4-3 guys who we moved around trying to fit in a 3-4. We need one more OLB and maybe a MLB. Not to hard at all. But that seems to be the problem we've had virtually every time we've tried to run the 3-4 no matter who the DC was: we seem to never actually go all in on it. We don't draft or go after legit 3-4 LBers and instead seem to spend more time trying to convert DE's to LBers and LBers to DE's. And when we do get a not so typical player who has an ability, we don't do anything to take advantage of that. For example: Mingo... dude is stupid quick. He's a guy that should be moved all over, and should be on delayed blitzes, or roaming the line looking for a gap to shoot. Find him avenues to the QB similar to what you'd do with a blitzing safety or CB.

I'll pretend it isn't accurate or relevant. That was pretty racist. You didn't even wait to see who he hired before you made the assumption. So far we have This Guy.

We kept Chris Freakin' Tabor (who seems to be like teflon. Undisciplined Special Teams but nothing seems to stick to him. I wonder if he dates Jimmy's Daughter or something) And I agree. That's just racist. Nickname his staff "The Brotha Hood" That's not right. I'm not going to go into some big explanation about labeling, but that's just offensive

So you think we might get Schwartz? I'd like that a lot. Although I had a friend from Michigan who knew someone on the practice squad of the Lions or something like that. She told me she heard Schwartz had a drinking problem and partied with the Lions players. But who knows...... He's the guy I'd like the most. And I don't think a 4-3 switch would be that bad. Kruger can play DE. I don't see why Orchard can't. Mingo has been a total dissapointment anyway. I dunno what Armonty Bryant's status is with his pullover at the end of the season. But he's built great for 4-3 DE. LBs, I think Dansby can play ILB still. Kirskey could start at the WILL position, he's a good tackler and he can cover. So we'd maybe need a SAM. From my eyes, Schwartz's defenses have always been hungry and aggressive. The only thing I don't like is that they seem to play dirty. But he gets a lot out of his D-Line, that's for sure. I don't mind Ray Horton. I feel like he's probably been our best D-Coordinator in awhile. Better than Jauron, better than O'Neil. I'm having trouble remembering Magini's Coordinator, and I think Romeo's was Todd Grantham. I think he ended up getting fired because he was talking bad about Romeo.

jmho He would be closer to a Will LB than a DE. Still think he's a liability against the run though.
