You are more optimistic than I am. I am at the point that I am not even sure I like this team. Haslam disgusts me.

If I predicted we were going to suck? Seriously? You don't remember all the attacks that some of us received this summer? It wasn't that long ago.
It's real simple. I knew we had inferior talent.
Again.........unless we could have hired a superstar like Saban, I was all for retaining Pet. Farmer had to go. But, losing him would not have hurt the continuity because we could have kept the same schemes and many of our better players.
Now.........we changed coaches and we're going to have to wait even longer because the schemes are changing and we don't have the right personnel to fit them, blah, blah, blah.
It's the same old crap designed to buy more time while Haslam fills his pockets.
Hiring Saban doesn't make Browns a winning team. Saban doesn't produce talent walking through the front doors in Berea. Your opinion regarding Haslam doen't change based on coach hired. Correct?

My opinion on Haslam has evolved. Firing Pet for yet another nobody has helped the evolution of that opinion.

More is the pity I will say I like the Horton , Hamilton and particularly the Saunders hires That has given me some hope

My opinion on Haslam has evolved. Firing Pet for yet another nobody has helped the evolution of that opinion. I can't argue. My one peeve firing Pet was they hire another newbie. At least that crap was avoided. I would have been very unhappy. I do think Haslam got very lucky hiring Hue. Now I sit in a "show me" state of mind.

i keep optimistic for the future because as fans, that's all we got.
looking at the past since 99 isn't fun. so i rather staying upbeat that the team will finally turn it around than to stay doom and gloom all the time.
because if not, then what's the point of being a fan of this team?

How many games has Hue won as a HC? Two less than Mike Pettine (in one less year of being a head coach).

because if not, then what's the point of being a fan of this team? You get to come on message boards and pretend to be angry. Duh.

i keep optimistic for the future because as fans, that's all we got. Yeah, I noticed that when you called Pet a "trash coach" 12 times a day. Oh, and another thing about this positive attitude crappola: I am positive regarding the things I can control. You know, like my own life. I am not blindly positive about things that I have absolutely no control of. I wouldn't call believing everything that others do is going to be great positive. I would call it foolish.

you were on my case about not being on the mangini bandwagon on the old board.

It's frustrating as hell, I understand how people feel on both sides.
Some see the change as good others don't, I can't say the way I think is right, so I don't say the way the other thinks is wrong.
Hate creates hate, that's one thing I don't like. Other than that I accept how everyone feels about this team and FO whether I agree or not.
I love watching the game of football, I'm not all about learning the in depths of it. I love the excitement of the game, that's about it.
Getting into pissing matches over hiring, firing, ownership isn't worth my health. I don't own the team, coach the team or play for the team.
Once the game is over win or lose.. My life is still what it was. Only I can allow something to affect my emotions, Sports are a way to express them, that's for sure.
I will wait for the season to start and follow it through the 16 games before I can rationalize a feeling.
As one great mind said, " I have no knowledge of when I will urinate or what pot urinal tree or patch of grass I will urinate on. As long as I don't urinate on myself, I see no need to complain "

I gotta get outta here and watch some hoops. I played 12 fantasy BB daily leagues. I pick random cheap teams early in the day to make sure I get in the leagues I want and then edit them later. Today, I got distracted and did not have time to edit three of them. Guaranteed losers w/guys that won't get off the bench or are injured. I love throwing money away.

How many games has Hue won as a HC? More than the last five Cleveland coaches if we're talking per season.

For someone who says I don't say the way the other thinks is wrong, you sure seem to be doing exactly that.

That is about the third of fourth answer that completely missed my point. Are you guys really that bad at comprehending my intent or are you just trying to argue?
You did read the part about me saying that "unless we could bring in a superstar HC........," right?

Well how about something informative .. Coments and Views on the Hal Hunter hire ? Luck got put on his butt a lot due to a bad line.. Pretty much all I know. Oh and maybe because the offense was terrible that's why Pep got fired.. But we have them both now...

All things considered:
This staff is the best that could be had.
Now the question becomes how will the draft be handled.
Analytics will play a part. They are in essence patterns in data. As long as experienced football minds are part of the process maybe results will come.
From what has been written the title of General Manager may be inaccurate. I don't care if they call a guy King Scout as long as he can identify talent.
Then the question is how will the decision be made?
My guess is Hue Jackson and his staff will have major input. I don't believe Jackson was hired without some conditions.
