I know he wanted to win, but man, if you're a magic fan you're kinda holding your breath on that one. It's great as a fan to watch, but I'd kill Lebron if he tried some of this stuff.
7 years ago, Lebron doing the dunk contest would've been fine.
Not so much right now though.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
Talent is not the issue w/the Cavs. It's all about how much they are willing to sacrifice and play championship ball.
Only in Cleveland do we always want to blow everything up. Making a trade would be dumb. This is akin to nearly every fan on this board calling an NFL player a bust after his first few games or even his first season.
I would argue the Cavs are more talented than the Warriors.
The difference between the two teams is the Cavs don't play like it, and it starts with LeBron.
I don't get this LeBron version 3.0. If this team had LeBron v1.0, pre heat, they'd be killing it. That LeBron loved to pass, get his teammates involved, and play the right way. What happened to that LeBron?
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...
I want to hear an argument why the Cavs are more talented than a team about to shatter one of the NBAs thought to be untouchable records for wins in a season. Lebron is an all time great, but when compared to Curry:
a lot of people are speculating that it COULD****** be that the warriors simply gas out come playoff time.
was reminded the other day how we went back to back 60+ win seasons, and did absolutely nothing with it.
i'm not saying it's going to happen, just saying it's a possibility.

Candy........you keep saying that the Cavs need to make a trade because GS has Curry, but who are the Cavs going to trade for that is as good as Curry?

Come on, man!
What?
It's not even just Curry that's a problem. I mentioned him because we can't just have Lebron go God mode to compensate for this fact: They have 2 way players. We only have 1.
i get that, but all i'm saying is we've seen far too many times in the nba and other sports when people just steam roll the regular season.
for all we know, the spurs can run the table come playoff time. hell, for all we know, the planets might align for OKC to run the table.
championships in the nba aren't won in febuary.

I've said it before, but Ben Mclemore would be an excellent pickup if he's cheap. He's very talented, but stuck in a toxic situation known as the Sacramento Kings. Not sure who we'd move for him to make salaries work though. He'd be an awesome young prospect to try and develop.
i don't think we have the luxury of giving up assets on a project. We need proven players at positions of need, I agree...i like his game, i just don't see how he gives us much more than Shump does. Shump actually has annoyed me this year, his offense sucks, even more so than normal from him and he's turnover prone, but his defense is nowhere near what it was last year.
Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It's perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we've learned something from yesterday. -John Wayne

I've seen this idea:
Moz + Shump for Koufos + Mclemore
I haven't seen that one, but i have seen mosgov/kaun/willians/cunningham for Koufos/mclemore. Im not sure how those are the upgrades. You're basically trading for younger, less experienced versions of who you have... Id like to get a guy like sephalosha or jon henson type

I would too, but you gotta remember those teams are fighting for the playoffs. Milwaukee is obviously struggling, but they're 5 games back in the East. As you know, that's not a great obstacle. Also, Atlanta is still trying to contend even though there are Horford rumors. They won't just give those guys up.
Kings are pretty much done. They're a dysfunctional mess. They're going to be a lot easier to trade with.
Most these trade scenerios just seem like shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic. I don't see how they help us out. Talent-wise, we SHOULD already have enough to at least contend with Golden State. Our talent just is playing nowhere near it's potential and the team as a whole seems to lose chemistry by the week. No amount of Moz for Koufos-type trades are really going to fix that, and even a Carmello for Love trade isn't really going to do much in that regard either.
If there is any cause for hope, we don't have to worry too much until the 2nd round of the playoffs, because barring a plane crash with the whole team on it, there is no chance we don't make it to the 2nd round.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.
I think the front office wants to keep everyone we have but will leak names of people they want to light a fire under their tails. Nobody is going to trade with us to make us stronger. We'll either be essentially the same team or worse.
“...Iguodala to Curry, back to Iguodala, up for the layup! Oh! Blocked by James! LeBron James with the rejection!”

I think ESPN and Windhorst are making stuff up as they go to sound relevant.
I almost wonder if they have a little wheel in their office that they spin that comes up with players names and teams that are interested.

... Memphis Grizzlies. Run the story!
Have they ever been RIGHT about a trade rumor, or anything for that matter? The biggest Cavs news this year was Blatt getting fired, and they said pretty much nothing about it until AFTER Woz broke the story. Then it was all about, "Oh yeah, we knew this was coming".
While i don't doubt we make a move at deadline, I don't think its going to be moving anything other than the exception, picks and maybe a bench guy or two..

I don't know that we have the "wherewithal" to make any sort of move (watch Griff prove me wrong).
Outside of Moz and Delly, we don't have many guys that are all that affordable that have a lot of upside. Most of our guys are aging vets on smaller deals, or guys making $10 mil plus.
Moz has played himself into a "project" status, and since he's more of a 3 month rental than anything. I don't see anyone really picking him up now when they can just get him in the summer. Delly is the glue guy on our team, and we really shouldn't be dealing him. Iman, Andy, TT, etc are all overpaid at this point and Mo, RJ, JJ, etc are guys that nobody is really going to bang down our door trying to get.
Our future draft picks are going to be in the 20s and our only really asset is a Trade Exception.
I don't know if we have any but expiring contracts seem to be one of the most valuable trade commodities in the NBA.
Eh, they sort of used to be, when teams had out of control payrolls and were struggling to get under the salary cap. These days, most teams have their finances under control and aren't as desperate to shed salary. The fact that the salary cap is going up one full max contract next year, also means that teams likely won't need to shed salary for next off-season.
looks like a rumor of Love being moved and bringing in Ryan Anderson, if that happens and another 3 and d wing isn't included, Griff should lose his job.

?
He's not just gonna trade Love for Anderson straight up. What are you referring to?
I don't see any wings on those two teams that would help the Cavs besides Crowder, and I don't think the Celtics will give him up.
Unless I'm reading this wrong, it appears the Cavs are trying for Jae AND Ryan.
"A potential deal involving Jae Crowder and Anderson gives the Cavaliers a versatile wing defender who can knock down shots and make plays, while giving them the kind of stretch four shooter in Anderson that James prefers to play with at the four spot."

Most of these rumors are completely baseless. Others are just bent truths. My guess is that Boston wants Love, but they have nothing that helps us, so they can't make a deal. That doesnt stop the press from saying Love us in Cavs trade talks. They said they aren't moving Love unless they get a Superstar in return. Probably because Boston keeps offering their Poopoo platter.

It is being said that it would be 3 way with NOLA, we get anderson, boston love and boston sends picks to nola. Anderson has already said he's testing FA this year. So unless theres something else coming this is a dumb trade. Amico said a cavs source confirmed strong interest in anderson. I just don't get it, everything he does, Love does better. Unless they are trying to get more assets for next year by moving love and probably could sign Anderson cheaper. But Anderson would be the perfect backup for Love
just saw the post about Crowder, Crowder and anderson for Love? I think about it, I think i'd want a little bit more.. Give boston Love/Mosgov and we take Crowder and Sullinger

Woj hasn't reported anything about Love to Boston. Most of that seems to be coming from Frank Isola from New York. Not sure how much credibility he has, but it's possible that Danny Ainge is feeding him "stuff" so he can turn to the fan base after the deadline and say, "Hey we tried".
Woj has said that we offered Anderson Varejao for Channing Frye, but the Magic didn't want to take on Andy's salary. That one would kind of be bittersweet. If we DO win a championship, I would prefer to have Andy on the team that did it. Besides, I don't think Frye really helps us beat Golden State anyway.
