He stinks. One trick pony. I can expound if you really want me to...... Well yeah, but the one trick he had deteriorated. Getting old stinks. Edit: I am fully aware that the Hawks have been figured out by the league.

Yep, Atlanta's roster is not exactly ideal for highlighting Korver's talents. Their freaking center and power forward would rather shoot threes than post up. That kinda messes up the spacing for a true 3-point shooter. LOL

We're this late into the season, and we're still trying to figure out things. Our team is going nowhere at Mach speeds.
The only improvement really visible to me with the coaching change is that Kevin Love seems more engaged. Same poor defense, same lame turnovers and etc continue. Who cares about playing fast and transition game when we can't execute defense and etc.
There's no way we can hang with the Spurs, Warriors and so on. No way at all.

Yeah, I've got a feeling we're toast. We might be a first round exit if the current temperature of the team continues. Our body language is awful. Somebody pointed out this sequence on another message board: In the Toronto game, Lebron motions Kyrie to come over and set a screen. Kyrie refuses to do so. Lebron insists again, so Kyrie rolls his eyes and jogs halfheartedly over to set the screen. Then throughout both these games, you see everyone sort of pointing the finger at everyone else, people giving half to zero effort on defense. It's like these guys no longer like playing with each other. JR seems like he's the only guy who cares anymore. It's getting harder each week to root for these guys.

Windhorst was also on a radio show today saying that there's a pretty big rift between Lue and Kyrie now. When JR Smith is your most likable guy ... your team has issues.

When JR Smith is your most likable guy ... your team has issues. Seriously too, you speak the truth. He's the only player who's brining it and on both sides of the court. Can someone tell me why we paid TT too? He's not effective at all. He had like, two rebounds yday. He missed a few should have been easy ones in the paint too. Paying him like he's a Mercedes Benz, the actual ride feeling like a Toyota Prius though. I don't even feel confident enough to say we're one of the top five teams in the NBA, even with all that money we slung around. Horrible times.

Kyrie is a great individual player skill wise, but immature and not a team first guy

I said back when it happened his contract would be an albatross...he seems to have peaked and its not very good, dleague is full of guys to catch lob passes. Hopefully when the cap goes up that contract becomes a bargain. But I've said before, if we don't win it this year, i see a new coach and the big 3 broken up and rebuild them.

I didn't see the sequence but it doesn't surprise me.. This team should get through the first round, probably even the second round.. they could go to the finals.. but something about them just says that if they get behind, they will just mail it in.. And against a team like Golden State, the runs they can go on, the way they can throw dagger after dagger at you... if you aren't mentally tough and resilient to face that, you are toast... and I don't think this team is mentally tough at all. It's funny because I think as individuals they are, but as a team, it's like they aren't willing to fight for/with each other... it's weird.

I also wonder what kind of effect trading Andy had. He wasn't putting up big stats, but he was one of those locker-room glue guys that kept everyone together. Remember when the Pacers traded Danny Granger and just sort of fell apart after that?

It's funny. If you would go back and look at some of my previous posts, you would see that I felt we had the stronger team and that GS hasn't had to face adversity. Because of that, I believed them to be mental midgets that would fold at any true sign of adversity. Instead, they just keep blowing people out and having fun together while doing it. Meanwhile, the Cavs look like the mental midgets.
Kyrie and K Love had a golden opportunity last night to show the rest of the team that they would step and carry them with LeBron being out. Love gave us a turd...

I just wished it had happened, but if Clips don't do anything this year, i could totally see CP3 wanting to go win somewhere.

maybe he should learn how to be an effective point guard.

maybe he should learn how to be an effective point guard. That would mean playing good defense and having to distribute the ball, right? The most effective point guards know how to get their teammates in the flow of the game and recognize when he needs to get his. Kyrie has always been a shoot first kind of player and a very lazy defender. I wonder if Blatt/Lue rode him a lot about putting forth more effort on the defensive end.

Kyrie's problem is that he's the same guy that he was his rookie year. What has he improved? We've seen guys like Wall, Lillard and obviously Curry grow and develop. Kyrie hasn't and he hasn't really show that he can.

lebron feeling it tonight Not feeling it... Doing what has made him successful from the time he entered the league. Attack the rim and look to put your teammates in a position to make a play. He should do that every time he gets the ball.

My son and I were talking about this earlier and I think it was Excel who mentioned it also:
How crazy is it when JR Smith seems to care more than any other guy on the team???

If I had a dollar for every wide open shot Love missed last night, heh. JR and almost everyone but LBJ seemed cold.
Not to take the fruits outta a victory, but if we sat LBJ again yday, that team would have dismantled us.

Nothing to say about TT's game? Truthfully I think he's better coming off the bench. He had a solid game, that block in the end there was HUGE. He needed to bounce back, he did so. IMO.

Consistency has been TT's issue this year, his production hasn't sniffed where it should for his contract. If he plays like last night more consistently, then Hes worth every penny. I don't know if its 100% on TT, i think the whole team is a little off right now. This is not the team we saw last year

Here is an excerpt from an article that I just read: Under newly minted head coach Tyronn Lue, however, we still don't know exactly what this team wants to become, and that's an increasingly scary thought as we inch toward the playoffs.
When he took over the gig in late January, Lue talked about employing an up-tempo style of offense and designating Kevin Love as the leader of the second unit when the other starters leave the floor.
"What I would like to do is get Kevin out early and let LeBron and [Kyrie] play," he said. "Then bring Kevin back with the second unit, and we can kind of run our elbow actions and slow the game down for Kevin. At times, playing fast, I guess he can get lost [in] the offense, so I got to do a better job of that."
Such a role seems further muddled now with the acquisition of Channing Frye from Orlando, a similar -- though much less gifted -- pick-and-pop artist to Love. More importantly, Lue wanted to imprint a lockdown defensive mentality.
It's a philosophy that hasn't exactly worked out in the manner he expected. Under his guidance, the Cavs have fallen from fifth in the league to 14th in defensive rating. The offense has slipped a tad as well, and the result has been an 11-6 record, including losses to both Toronto and Boston, the second and third seeds in the Eastern Conference, respectively. For comparison, Cleveland was 30-11 under Blatt, the best record in NBA history for any coach to have been fired.
To be sure, LeBron's presence cannot be overstated, particularly amid the Cavs' current woes. Whether or not he remains the greatest player on the planet is debatable, but what isn't debatable is the tremendous impact he still has. James commands double-teams and he commands the best out of his teammates. And, some would say that so long as No. 23 is on the floor, Cleveland is a contender.
But that simply is not true, not anymore at least. Not with the dominant fashion in which both the Warriors and Spurs are playing, and most certainly not with the way his team has played in the wake of Blatt's dismissal. You can read the entire article here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/clev...b0871f60ec16ba?

We are now, imo, a little too late in the season for "experimentation" and such. Falling from 5th to 14th in defense is very concerning and hard to swallow. When this team is playing good defense, the offensive side seems to elevate itself. Hence why JR has been a crucial element.
With all the various high profile weapons, I just don't get why we're playing like a middle school team. Why we're so inconsistent. Why we're about as aggressive as a kitten.

There's no reason for the defense to have dropped. Lue was the defensive coach under Blatt.

I think it's attitude, candy.
I remember pleading for the team to not make any trades and not make any coaching changes. I thought that LeBron and the other players needed to meet and dedicate themselves to becoming a more team-oriented group that relied on ball movement over ISO.
They didn't do that. They chose to be selfish and entitled. It's biting them in the butt now.

We're following the Miami model to the next level..
Had Miami not come back down 2-1 to Indy, or 3-2 to Boston in the 2nd year of the Big 3, it most likely would have been blown up..
There were talks there of whether or not Spo was the "right guy" to coach that team.. Riley had come down from the box before to take over and lead a team to a title (sorry Stan)
We will still most likely make the NBA Finals, regardless of how bad we look in February.
I think we have the talent to win the Title this year, regardless of how good GS or SA look right now..
They just have to turn the right corner.
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

They just have to turn the right corner. Therein lies the problem. The team has no direction. It is hard to turn a corner when you do not know where that turn is leading you to.
