so kyrie has 11 already.
he seems to thoroughly enjoy playing when lebron isn't on the court.

I like how the small lineup is working. Shump is playing at a high level right now and on both sides!!!
I love that steal and dunk by JR too. Intensity is high right now.

I love andy.....
but man, Frye has been hands down more productive.
it's good to see Frye, Love, and Irving having good games so far. already up by 20.

Nice win for a team that really struggles without lebron. Not to mention that first game back from a west coast trip is always tough.

So I started LeBron in FanDuel.
Went to work at 530. Checked my phone at break at 730..
..To find out he wasnt playing..
Aaron Gordon had a total of TWO fantasy points though, so I wasnt ganna win anything anyways.. plus Deron Williams killed the streak of Cavs opposing PGs putting up huge numbers..

Close game. Mega happy they goofed up and allowed Kyrie to get that easy steal there at the end. Momentum was on both team's side and the win could've easily went their way.
I want to say, every game I watch, there are a high number of blatantly obvious fouls that aren't getting called. If I had a dollar for everytime they hooked or hung onto TT in the paint there, I'd have several dollars.

Cavs haven't been protected by refs at all this year. TT gets hammered and held like Dwight Howard does. Guys can jump over his back too. LeBron is allowed to be cold cocked when he goes for a rebound. Kyrie gets smacked in the face when he drives.
It's infuriating.

I don't know. LeBron travels almost every time he has the ball. It's unreal how blatant he is about it. They rarely call it and they could call it on almost every play. He also uses his forearms to push off a lot.
I do think JR and TT get ripped, though.

You guys are right about JR. The refs have some sort of unwritten directive against him. I've never seen a guy get called for so many ticky-tack fouls. I feel bad for the guy.

I feel bad for the guy. yeah I get so annoyed seeing JR get called for very very marginal stuff while others get away with assault. JR for all of his reputation has been very well behaved since being here..more than I think i could have been given how biased the referees are. Drove to Clearwater last night and watched on dvr. There were some really good moments for the cavs. Kyrie almost shot us to a loss. He still plays one on one too much and it usually results in a turnover.. it's a shame, he's so gifted he could be creating some amazing plays for his teammates. He's too selfish. I want to trade him and keep Love. Love, given the right sets can be dominant, like we saw last night. He's done whatever he's been told without complaint. I don't think kyrie will ever be able to play second fiddle.. too much on the line with him with shoe deals and commercials etc. Speaking of commercials, I'm sure everyone has seen the new kevin love/dame lillard droppin' dimes commercial.. solid gold there.. I love the state farm commercials with CP3 "Kevin, whered you get all those dimes" or You're becoming a teenager now, walking around here all cavalier

I do think JR and TT get ripped, though. i still remember the whole "crab Dribble" fiasco from his first tenure.. Lebron does get away with alot, but when you're lebron and one of the top superstars that drive the league, you should get some calls. But the stuff that JR and TT have to deal with, or even lebron when he drives is asinine. Nba refs have more impact on a game than any other sport.

It was funny. I was at the Laker/Cavs game and Lebron drove to the rim and got a wishy-washy fould called on the Lakers. The Laker fans around me all went nuts and I was like, "Really? You guys are complaining about getting superstar calls against you?"

It worries me because JR has gotten his crap together in Cleveland. I can see him flipping out if he's in a tight playoff series and the refs aren't calling anything to protect him.

JR took a nasty elbow right to the face in just yesterday's game alone, no call and yet... least from the TV view, very obvious. Refs had to had their eyes shut for a few to have missed it.
I thought it could've been grounds for a flagrant, yet it was even called period. And it's not just JR. Refs hate us as a team. LBJ gets raped almost each time he drives it seems, Kevin Love, Delly I mean, it like they hate us as a team.
I know last season they complained alot about no calls, maybe they rubbed the league the wrong way? I don't know, I just don't see how so many tacky, wuss calls are called against us, and how many total obvious no calls for us. And it's consistent, game after game, ref group after ref group.
At this stage, it's not making excuses, it's pointing out a fact! Something going on there.

DAMN YOU CAVS!!!!
How dare you only win three out of 4 on a brutal west coast trip!!!! I heard the stats on east coast teams that played in LA, then had to go to either Utah or Denver in a back-to-back... the winning percentage over the last 20 years is absolutely horrible.. which is why I was glad be we beat the Clippers because I didn't think we would beat Utah.

That doesn't surprise me. Some of that could just be low sample/variance thing since it's such a specific scenario. But there are a lot of reasons why the Cavs would be at a disadvantage there. - Second half of a back to back on the road is always a low percentage game - 10:30pm eastern games have to favor Western teams just for the fact that the West teams are playing closer to their biological physical optimum which is late afternoon or so - I wonder if the altitude amplifies the above effects; fatigued players and thin air don't go together well (just an idea here) Maybe that's the type of game to just rest the starters. Save them the wear and tear if they're very likely to lose anyway.

Back to the Mavs game. I guess people complaining about the no call on the supposed foul of Irving during his game clinching steal... I'll say this, even if there was a foul that occurred - call it payback for the 7-10 no call fouls that the Cavs had to eat. Cry babies!

Back-to-back games are huge for me when I generate my spread sheets for fantasy basketball.
It's actually fascinating to see the differences in the performances, such as back-to-back when both are on the road... back-to-back home games.......b to b home/away..............b to b away/home. It's also revealing to see how it shakes out w/home and away when both teams are coming off of b to b.
Some mandate to absolutely stay away from and w/others it isn't such a big deal. I found the results a bit surprising and always interesting.
Sorry for the geekdom, but I gotta put my math background to some sort of use. LOL

It seems to me that we had Waiters at the time, and the team expected him to develop ..... so we went with the PF/SF .... and we got the tweener who could not play either position very well.
Yea us.

looks like if my math is correct, after beating the magic we have clinched a playoff spot. Now the rest vs seed question comes into play. Anyone else sick of Lebron and his social media..dude needs to grow up. That being said i think theres a 0% chance kyrie is here next year

Also, I appreciate Andy, but Frye > him It was always an awful pick, I agree there I don't think Grant was that bad. He is largely the one that set the table for this Cavs team we see right now as he did a really good job taking the post-Lebron Cavs from an abomination of a team to one that was absolutely loaded with picks and cap space and one that had some young talent. The Waiters and especially Bennett picks were awful but I always wondered how much of those were Grant picks and how much impact the head coaches had. Keep in mind that the Cavs have been far from a well-run organization, they have gone through head coaches at a rate like the Browns and much of their success the last couple years is just from constantly landing #1 overall picks and the return of Lebron. That's not exactly masterful strategy. I always thought Bennett especially was a Mike Brown pick. People always blame analytics for that one because Grant was supposedly big on analytics, but Bennett was absolutely, positively not an analytics pick. Noel was the analyltics pick and Bennett wouldn't have even been in the discussion.

It was so bad that NBA2k dubbed the audio into the video game draft selections and included Bill Simmons yelling "Whoa!" from the Live TV broadcast..
