I personally have the feeling we're going to trade back again and select the BPA ... hopefully acquire another 2nd round pick ... and then look to draft Cook
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."
I wouldn't be surprised if we went Hogan later and tried to fix his mechanics. Pep coached at Stanford, and it's not Harvard but it's almost Ivy league, right?

I've seen a few others now stating the Lynch to Cleveland pick.
To be fair, Silver also had the Browns and 49ers having agreed to terms on Kaeprenick deal.
We'll see in about a week.
Silver did not say that about Kaepernick.
Ok. "General Agreement."
On Friday, NFL.com's Michael Silver wrote that the 49ers and Browns "are in general agreement regarding the draft-pick compensation that it would take to acquire Kaepernick,"

Lynch at 8 seems like a huge reach; you'd be better off taking Cook at some point and tweaking his footwork (which is the cause of his accuracy issues).
Hue Jackson had said something about preferring (or possibly just being open to) waiting to take a QB in the 2nd round, as opposed to taking one in the 1st.
Maybe he was telling the truth.

I would love it if we drafted Lynch!!!! He has some really nice touch on those deep balls. Throws with better anticipation that Goff or Wentz too. I don't think he will make it past the cowboys or the niners though.
You can't fix stupid but you can destroy ignorance. When you destroy ignorance you remove the justifications for evil. If you want to destroy evil then educate our people. Hate is a tool of the stupid to deal with what they can't understand.
I don't see them taking Lynch at 8. If he fizzled, and Wentz studded out, these guys would be driven out of town. And they just can't be THAT certain of Lynch.

Which was true. We just couldn't get Kaepernick to budge on his salary (neither could the Broncos).
Can't find it, but I am pretty sure in one of the RGIII threads someone in the Browns office said that they never actually spoke to Kap about a restructure or with SF on trade parameters. The team's supposed interest in Kap was a smoke screen to cover our interest in RGIII.
I used search and the phrase "smoke screen" appears in the second RGIII thread but clicking the link gives me a "404 not cfound" error, so this is from memory.

It was spoken by Paul De...Maybe if you google him post RG3 signing...he didn't make too many public statements.
Maybe Lynch at 32...this kid will take a couple of years to become NFL ready, I think Denver (the place the so called experts state Lynch would not get passed by) might be more apt to take Cook again a kid I liked from the get go.
It means diddly but I just don't see us taking a QB in the first or second round (almost a first as its #32) We passed on the two best (shot at one) obviously good prospects as both were thought good enough for the King Ransom to utilize way more than the #1 or #2 pick on.
I just don't see us taking the LEFT OVERS...I can see us utilizing one of the 6 picks we have in the 4th n 5th rounds to take a prospect to develop.
jmho
Defense wins championships. Watson play your butt off! Go Browns! CHRIST HAS RISEN! GM Strong! & Stay safe everyone!
I think Lynch is a guy we can land at 32 or maybe trade back up into the bottom of the first round. I would be shocked if he goes before then.
I don't see him making it past Buffalo or the Jets. Buffalo could sit him a year like he needs, but I think the Jets would ruin him by starting him day 1. I'd love to get him top of round 2, I just can't see him dropping that far with the premium on quarterbacks.
You might be right on the Jets, but starting a rookie on a team full of veterans won’t go over well, they would have to re-sign Fitz and let him sit until he is ready. He is not a day 1 starter, he definitely needs some time to acclimate IMO.
Lynch at 32? I'm game, if he lives beyond Buffalo/NY. If not him, Cardale in the later rounds would be okay. Any Qb we pickup shouldn't be, and likely won't be asked to start. Red shirt them!
Watch the Navy game for Lynch. People point out the Auburn game as one he struggled in, and some counter with looking at the team around him. I wasn't impressed with this film either. A top QB should be able to carve up a service academy.

Cons: Lot’s of bubble screens and HB screens Not a lot of pro routes in his offense Almost exclusively operated from the shotgun Coming from a one read offense, was not asked to go through multiple progressions on a regular basis. Often relies on his athleticism instead of trusting his progression and protection
Watching them play Auburn was brutal. They were completely outmatched by a 6-6 Auburn team in their bowl game. His receivers couldn’t get even a half step on the Auburn corners. I would be very surprised if anyone from this team aside from Paxton Lynch got drafted. The only real cons I can come up with is the system he comes from. It is the furthest thing from a pro style system, he has a lot to learn about being under center and operating a pro system, but he has all the tools to succeed in the NFL.
Unfortunately some guys never really can make that adjustment from spread to pro style. Can he? We’ll see.
He does flash some nice throws, but he has near as many poor one's down the field. He also has so many throws behind the line of scrimmage and predetermined reads which he stares down. Leaves a lot of yards on the field by making his receivers adjust.
He reminds me of a more athletic Derek Anderson. He could put up a good season/game here or there, but he will probably have some clunkers, too. Seems to handle pressure better, though.
If I knew we could get him and Doctson, I might roll the dice. He has the arm but his placement is streaky. Doctson has lots of practice adjusting to off target passes.

I don't think he struggled that badly against Navy. They had a bunch of drops and 3 fumbles.
This was probably the worst throw I've seen him make and it was against Navy, he just didn't see the guy.

Purely based on that video I'd be concerned that someone so big needs to put his body into throws as much as it he appears he does. That was one of my biggest issues with Manziel, that's not true arm strength.
I was thinking I was on board with him if we traded back again to the middle of the round but based on very limited views of his play now I'm not so sure...
I'd rather have Cook. At least he ran a pro system and had to make reads down the field. I liked him a lot going into this past season. He didn't have as good of a season as I had hoped but I feel like there's more to him than just size. I wonder if Lynch were 6'2" with his same skill set how would people be talking about him this year? "A little undersized, plays in a gimmic offense, doesn't have to make reads, doesn't play under center..." I want a guy that can do the basics already. Drop back in 3,5, and 7 step drops while making reads. A few inches in height is less appealing when Cook is already 6'4" and athletic. Personally I think Lynch's size has him overvalued.
I think Lynch would be a good option for the Browns if they trade down again.
He has the most upside of any qb in the draft. He's huge. He's athletic. He has great feet. He is very accurate most of the time. He has a great arm.
He is just very raw and it will take time to groom him. Having RGIII and McCown here would allow the Browns to give Lynch enough time to get ready.
I agree with this. We just can't target a QB at the #32 spot with Denver sitting 31 in front of us. As much as I don't like trading down again we could get an extra pick or two, move down a few spots, then take Lynch.

He'll be the third QB taken in the first round, IMO. He's also my third choice. While he doesn't have great feet, and does need to be coached up, he has huge upside with his arm, size and field vision. This would be a pick worth developing by Hue. Problem is, this FO is so set on acquiring picks and so rigid at assigning value they won't take him at 8, he definitely won't be there at 32, and it's HIGHLY unlikely they'd trade up to get him, especially since they'd probably need to get at least into the teens to do it. He may even be gone before then though.
If they take Connor Cook in any round, I'll puke.

I think you guys are right that we won't take him at 8 and that he won't get past the Bills and Jets, but there's an awful lot of space in there for someone wanting to jump up. I don't see any of those guys taking a qb round 1.
8. Cleveland Browns (3-13) 9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-10) 10. New York Giants (6-10) 11. Chicago Bears (6-10) 12. New Orleans Saints (7-9) 13. Miami Dolphins (6-10) 14. Oakland Raiders (7-9) 15. Tennessee Titans (3-13) 16. Detroit Lions (7-9) 17. Atlanta Falcons (8-8) 18. Indianapolis Colts (8-8) 19. Buffalo Bills (8-8) 20. New York Jets (10-6)
Of course, NY/BUF could come up...

Crowded elevators smell different to short people...
He has some Russell Wilson to his game. Smallish hands, but they're bigger than Goff's.
He has some Russell Wilson in that he can throw on the run and has a strong arm and is short, but the experience base coming into the NFL is completely different. Pure shotgun / spread at EWU and then one year in Oregon's system is a lot different than three years of starting experience in WCO from two different schools with two different sets of terminologies.
I think using Wilson as a standard for Adams would be unfair.
