32...honestly, it all depends on what these Harvard guys do with the picks they have.
But getting only a 3rd and 4th rounder this year in return for swapping our #2 for their #8..I'm not impressed. Of course you aren't impressed. It is a moronic statement to say it depends on what they do with the picks. It always depends on what is done with picks. Who ever goes in intending on blowing picks? It's also moronic to keep putting these guys down because they attended Harvard, like that is some sort of negative. I mean really man, that is laughable. What did our "Big Brian Football Guys" named Holmgren or Davis, or Farmer ever do for us to get us to the Super Bowl? Answer the question. Take a Time Out Dude Peen...no, really it does depend on what these Bigbrain Harvard boys do with the picks they have gotten in trade. If they swing and miss on picks 77 and 100 this year, it's a bad deal. If they swing and miss on the first rounder next year, it's a bad deal...and same goes for the pick in 2018.
I will say this, if Bigbrains were scared to pick a QB at #2 because they lacked experience or did not feel comfortable in their ability to judge QB talent...trading back was probably a relief and a good choice for the those in charge of running this draft.
The most challenging choice for any front office is picking a QB at the top of the draft. Some front offices are confident in their ability to make that pick and some clearly are not.
This front office is brand spanking new with zero experience judging football talent and have never even conducted a draft. More than likely, Sashi and Depo were so damned scared of making a mistake picking #2 that they begged for someone to trade something for the pick...oh wait, Sashi was shopping the #2 pick just a week ago.
When the front office's head strategist (DePodesta) is flying to Florida to meet with Bill Parcells just two weeks before the draft, that is NOT a good sign that everything is under control in Berea. Best advice Parcells could have given if this front office did not feel comfortable making the #2 pick, move out of it any way you can.
This front office is in dire need of leadership with a background in football. Without it, the Browns front office is incomplete.
Two things: 1. I think it is wrong that peen said your two ideas were "moronic." I guess we are at a point where such insults are okay if you are a homer. mac, I think you are hard-headed, but I do not think you are even close to moronic. 2. mac, you probably know that I have criticized this FO in general and the owner in particular, so I am not a homer who just makes crap up. With that said, I really think you should consider that perhaps the FO did not think the qb who was left over [or maybe both] were not worth the second pick in the draft. Thus, I don't think it is fair to say they were scared to pick a qb at two because of their lack of experience.

Mac you are just on an obvious witch hunt for whatever reason. You said the Browns FO suck because they didnt trade up to get a QB and you had no idea who they should take.

http://www.jsonline.com/sports/packers/p...-376403681.htmlGreen Bay — The rise of North Dakota State's Carson Wentz and the fall of Michigan State's Connor Cook underscore the fleeting nature of scouting reports and how perceptions of quarterbacks can change dramatically in less than a year.
Last May, Cook was ranked second and Wentz 13th among the class of senior quarterbacks by National Football Scouting Inc., the largest of the two scouting combines that serve NFL teams.
Next week, Wentz could be the Los Angeles Rams' selection with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, whereas Cook might fall all the way to the second round and possibly even the third.
NFS, whose members include the Green Bay Packers and 19 other clubs, gave Wentz a priority free agent grade of 4.91 entering his senior season. It represented the opinion of one area scout who went to Fargo, N.D., watched tape and wrote a report that was later disseminated and discussed with personnel from all 20 teams.
Among the quarterbacks rated far ahead of Wentz were USC's Cody Kessler and Arizona State's Mike Bercovici. Wentz also trailed Liberty's Josh Woodrum, Massachusetts' Blake Frohnapfel, Florida State's Everett Golson and Western Kentucky's Brandon Doughty, who, like Bercovici, might be pleased just to secure a free-agent contract after the draft.
"The scout missed him," said a personnel director for one of the NFS member teams. "It was just one scout's opinion."
Meanwhile, Cook received a grade of 6.01, making him a late first-round pick.
"In the summer time he was highly regarded," said an AFC personnel man. "He was overvalued."
Blesto Inc., the other combine, provided its eight member teams with spring grades from two scouts. Using a far different scale, Wentz received grades of 1.7 (seventh round) and 1.3 (third round), whereas Cook received grades of 1.4 (fourth round) and 1.18 (first round).
Everyone knows that preseason grades represent little more than a starting point for scouts exhausted from one draft and now having to switch gears and prepare for another. The measurements and other basic information are more important for teams than the grade, which will be superseded by team scouts.
Still, it's rather startling to see how far Wentz and Cook moved in opposite directions. A poll by the Journal Sentinel of 17 personnel men with national orientation reflects the change.
In the survey, scouts were asked to name their five favorite quarterbacks in order, with first place worth five points, second place worth four and so on.
Jared Goff, the junior from California, edged Wentz, 73 to 711/2. Goff had eight firsts, one more than Wentz.
Third was junior Paxton Lynch of Memphis with 52 points (one first) and fourth was Cook, who also had one first and totaled 29.
Following, in order, were Christian Hackenberg (11), Dak Prescott (61/2), Jacoby Brissett (four), Jeff Driskel (31/2), Kevin Hogan (21/2), and Cardale Jones and Nate Sudfeld, each one.
Wentz' ascension is more the result of his impressive performance on the field and in interviews during the Senior Bowl and combine than a senior season in which he missed eight of the Bison's 15 games with a broken wrist.
A small-town guy from the North Dakota capital of Bismarck, Wentz seems to have captivated his audience.
"He's a humble kid that was raised right," an AFC personnel director said. "He has high ambition, a good mind and a high likability factor. I think very highly of him."
Of the 69 quarterbacks drafted in the first round from 1984-2015, just two — Steve McNair from Alcorn State in '95 and Joe Flacco from Delaware in '08 — hailed from non-FBS colleges.
If Wentz turns out as good as McNair and Flacco, his employer probably would be ecstatic.
Several scouts said their main reservation concerning Wentz was caliber of competition and North Dakota State's overwhelming march to five straight FCS championships and a 71-5 record.
Wentz walked on and redshirted in 2011, backed up Brock Jensen for two seasons and then started just 23 games (20-3) the past two years. Jensen, from Waupaca, Wis., didn't last long as a Dolphins free agent in 2014 before finding work in the CFL.
"He has skyrocketed this postseason for a guy being hurt most of the year," said an NFC personnel man. "It took three years to start in I-AA. I know he had a hell of a career.
"He couldn't beat out Brock Jensen and now he's going to be the (top) pick in the draft? He's just got a scary profile."
Sixteen of the 17 scouts agreed to pick the best candidate to bust from among the leading passers. Cook led the way with six votes, Lynch garnered five, Hackenberg had three, and both Goff and Wentz had one.
Cook sat out Michigan State's finest victory (at Ohio State) with a shoulder injury but was MVP of the Big Ten championship game for a second time and broke some of Kirk Cousins' school records. His rating of 93.3 was in keeping with his first two seasons as a starter, but the more scouts saw the less they appeared to like.
"He's certainly not a front-line starter that can win you games," an NFL personnel chief said. "Put him on against Iowa and Alabama if you think this guy can do it. Their biggest win, Ohio State, he didn't even play."
Many personnel people have called into question Cook's "makeup" and ability to become the face of an NFL team.
"Like to have a better work ethic out of a quarterback," an AFC scout said. "He knows it. I talked to him. He's a smart kid, a college kid. He liked to hit the streets and chase.
"He wasn't voted team captain. But, he wasn't going to get it over (center) Jack Allen no matter what happened."
That personnel man compared Cook to retired journeyman starter Kyle Orton, and it wasn't intended as a compliment.
Cook could become the Big Ten's first quarterback drafted in the first round since Penn State's Kerry Collins in 1995 when the Nittany Lions had just concluded their second season in the conference.
The Big Ten produced first-round quarterbacks Art Schlichter, Tony Eason, Chuck Long, Jim Everett, Jim Harbaugh and Jeff George from 1982-'90. None of them compared with Tom Brady (sixth round), Drew Brees (second round) and Russell Wilson (third round), who have combined to win six Super Bowls.
"Depth-wise, it's a good group, but I don't see the premier guy in there," an AFC personnel man said. "I would take (Jameis) Winston and (Marcus) Mariota over these guys. They're Pro Bowlers. These guys are solid starters." That last paragraph very well could have come from the Browns.

How many people are going to call mac out, but ignore all the guys who were so adamant that we should take a qb and NOT trade down, but are still singing the praises of the FO?
There are a LOT more guys lapping up everything the FO does. What, you can't call them out because there are more of them? That's gutty.
Oh............and to clarify something...........I absolutely love this trade. It gives me hope that they have a clue. I was hoping they would trade out of 2 early on and I support the trade. I think we fleeced the Eagles. Thus, I am not protecting mac because I agree w/this particular take of his, but man, I hate when so many gang up on one person.

Mac, my point is I think everybody knows you have to make good selections with the picks. Who goes in to it intent on making poor selections?
Also, why assume we traded because we didn't know what to do? I assume we traded because we wanted to trade down and pick other players. I assume we are good with RGIII. I assume we feel like this trade down allows us to control the top of next years draft , which by the way has 2 pretty darn good prospects. Peen...I look at the experience level of this front office and know they are lacking when compared to other front offices...and it does show.
Those who see nothing but sunshine and roses can spin it anyway they want, but facts are facts...these guys are very lacking in experience drafting or even running a Pro football front office.
If the Browns are still looking for a franchise QB 2 or 3 yrs from now, many will point to this moment in time and judge Sashi and Depo accordingly.
If Goff and Wentz are leading their teams to the playoffs while the Browns are still trying to find a franchise QB, maybe some will finally get it.
Everyone's career starts somewhere and sometime. If you can, take a moment to listen to Sashi's presser from this morning (not sure it's up yet) I came away from that very impressed with Sashi Brown. Keep an open mind, you might as well.

Not that its any concern of yours but before I tell you that you should go back to school and i hear good old FU has an opening, I called out Mac because he was bashing this FO for not trading up and he didnt even know which guy they should trade up for. It was stupid.
Also its easier because Mac's posts are like fingernails on chalkboard.
Folks that believe these guys are worth the #2 have their opinion and I dont have a problem with it. I dont believe either is worth a top 15 pick. Hell I thought Lynch was the best QB and he isnt worth a top 15 either.
Anyway, I will leave you to your search to find the next victim to defend and when you cant find one, then you become the victim fighting against the man lol A true Man of Lamancha.

yea thats it lol
dont wantta derail the thread. It was a good smart trade but now they have to earn their money. I would be using all the picks I could to get into top70 as often as i can. There are gonna be a lot of probowl talent taken between 15-70. Thats my cutoff point. After that you really go from a stud group of tier 2 talent to that of 7th round talent.
I would probably be willing to trade down slightly again in the first but I would not budge from 32 but then start using those 3's 4's and 5's to get back to the late 2nd early 3rd.

Someone earlier spoke of comparing the Rams FO and the Current Browns FO in regards to choosing a QB. As a former Rams fan, I saw their current GM when he first got he job. He pulled off the RGIII trade, not dissimilar to the situation Brown and DePodesta pulled off recently.
In looking back, you can say that the Rams won that trade because RGIII is a Brown, not a Redskin. But more than half of those picks they acquired are no longer with the team (Jenkins, Watkins, Pead, etc.). When they had a chance to choose a new QB (not a franchise one but a potential franchise one) they didn't. They stuck with Bradford.
Fast forward, Bradford is an Eagle. They got stuck with Foles (who is on his way out) and are now vaulting to the top of the draft to pick another "franchise" QB. Now, how smart do they look now?
My point is this: It's asinine to bask the Browns FO for percieved short comings without proof. Are they green when it comes to football? Kinda. (Brown is not but is as a GM) Does "green" equal failure? No, because every GM was once a new GM and had to make the hard decisions.
And let me say this: What Goff and Wentz do after they get picked is irrelevant to the Browns future. Completely irrelevant!!! Why, because where ever they go, success or not, will depend on THE TEAM THAT PICKED THEM! We see it with Free Agency all the time. A player has to find a team that is a good fit. A good player on one team, is not always a good player on another. It's mostly luck and desire. So if those QB's excel its because the team. Matt Cassell, anyone??

How many people are going to call mac out, but ignore all the guys who were so adamant that we should take a qb and NOT trade down, but are still singing the praises of the FO? Maybe because some of them are willing to adjust their opinion based on new information. They may have been adamant about one or the other QBs initially but upon seeing that the Browns and Hue didn't like either of them they then decided that maybe they were wrong about those QBs early on. To me that beats the hell out of clinging to an original opinion to the ends of the earth while being resistant to new information. Oh.........and to clarify something........I never wanted either of those QBs at #2. It would take some digging, (not by me), but it could be found that I expressed that opinion several times early on. I mention that not to prove that maybe I was right, but rather to escape any list I might otherwise find myself on as one who sings the praises of the FO no matter what.

What our fans must hope is that our rookie FO knows more than both the Rams and Philly do. I've sat here and read that there were no #1 QB's in this draft. That there were none worth taking at #1 or #2. Then I watched 2 NFL franchises pay a hefty sum to move up for both QB's that our fan base was quick to dismiss. So hopefully our FO and fan base knows more than two NFL FO's do.
I had hoped we would draft Wentz because I do see him as a franchise QB. But I am nothing more than a fan on a message board, so I certainly don't claim to be an expert.
I have also said many times that if our FO doesn't view Wentz as a franchise QB, they certainly shouldn't draft him. That if they could get a good deal in a trade down within the top 10, they should take it. That is the decision they made.
So the question remains, was that a good deal? No matter how hard we try to answer that question, there is no clear cut answer at this time. To answer that, we'll have to know if Wentz ends up being a franchise QB. We'll have to see the draft selections made with the picks we acquired in the trade. We'll have to see if they answer the question of franchise QB next year.
So at this juncture, I'll applaud them for making what they perceived the best move was at the time. I'll watch moving forward as to how things unfold with Wentz and the selections they make moving forward. There's not enough evidence at this time to say how this will all pan out.
What I won't be happy about is if they continue to move down and fail to draft within the top 10. We've had a lot of bodies and little to no impact players in the past. That's exactly what's gotten us to where we are now.
An accumulation of bodies over impact players is a recipe for mediocrity. So let's see where this story goes.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

For all the negatives about the trade and the somewhat obvious comments that it all depends on what the FO turns the extra picks into ... it all works both ways.
"If Wentz and Goff are franchise QB's in 2 years time?" .... well Goff was never an option because he is going #1 and the Browns couldn't have drafted him. . . . and if anyone here wants to tell the world that before the trade they were in favor of giving up a the picks needed to trade with the Titans - I'll call b.s. - then this FO would have been ridiculed and accused of being hood winked.
As for Wentz - well yeah, if he's the second coming of Big Ben - then there is a good chance we made a mistake.... but at this stage he's just as likely to be the second coming of Jeff George. In which case the FO are geniuses. . . . "IF" doesn't make any sort of argument to support an opinion.
The more things change the more they stay the same.

This trade was a good move. It really was. mourg...you are 100% wrong...I'm not on a witch hunt...just merely telling the truth about this front office. They are inexperienced and in dire need of someone with a background in football to help and add balance to the front office.
Tell me, why do you think Depo flew all the way to Florida to meet with Parcells?
It wasn't because Sashi and Depo had already established their draft strategy. I do give Sashi and Depo credit for admitting that they needed help and were willing to do what they had to do to get that help. It is a great example of what I continue to say...that this front office is in dire need of someone with "football experience" in the front office, with a seat next to Sashi and Depo.
Now, your claim that this trade was "damn near an RG3 deal"...The Rams received three first-round picks and a second round pick. In 2012, the Rams received #6, #39 picks...in 2013, Rams got #22 pick...in 2014, Rams got the #2 pick from Wash.
mourg...feel free to compare the Rams 2012 deal with the Browns 2016 deal...not even close, imo.

You mean besides the 116 years of football experience located in just the top 4 members of our coaching staff, not to mention the scounting department? Experience like that? You're acting like it's just Haslam, Brown and DePodesta sitting in a sealed room with no outside influence. You're really working hard to discredit this front office. Relax a bit and take a deep breath...

When you have to resort to counting the number of years the coaching staff "has coached" in an effort to show that the front office has "football experience"...you my friend are on thin ice.
Reaching that far down line only strengthens my viewpoint that this front office is lacking in football experience. ...hey, maybe Depo was delivering one of those singing birthday greetings to Parcells for his 74th birthday, ya think?...

Mac...inexperience in their present job does not mean they are INCOMPETENT which is what you seem to preclude that is what it means.
This trade was done pretty much not out of Not knowing what to do considering it was done when and where it has been done.
What you have totally ignored is the role that Hue Jackson has had in this process. The same guys who reported this correctly, the trade, also reported that we were sold on a QB at #2 even after we signed RG3.
What happened? There are reports that Hue is now gaga over RG3. Just a question, in this Koombaya arrangement that we have made. Do you really think we went behind Hue Jackson's back on this.
I wanted Wentz badly...but I don't think I'm smarter than Hue Jackson regarding QB evaluation. Why would a positive thought process mean SPIN. Aren't these the facts.
1. We were hot on QB at #2. 2. We signed RG3 and still was looking QB#2 3. We have been having some camp and class room - reports have been Hue Jackson is elated with RG3. 4. We made the trade...and got a pretty good deal to boot.
In one post I read from you. You describe this trade as a 3rd and 4th rounder and we got fleeced. Totally ignoring the First Round pick in 2017 a 4th and then a 2nd rounder in 2018. How do you come away with this is a terrible deal???
Inexperience and INCOMPETENT would have had us doing that thread Browns get Fleeced by Dallas. We did not.
I stated earlier its the obvious but it is the most important thing about this trade. We got to hit HRs, Doubles and Triples...with these picks and we'll take several Singles from the Late round also...I did this so Paul D can understand...lol thought you'd like that.
These guys are smart, intelligent and know football. And we have a very respected Football guy out there in Hue Jackson.
As far as HOPE and WISHES...put it all on the EAGLES having one of their worst seasons ever! jmho
Defense wins championships. Watson play your butt off! Go Browns! CHRIST HAS RISEN! GM Strong! & Stay safe everyone!

Okay, so you claim the front office doesn't have football experience but that the coaching staff's experience isn't relevant. You then make a joke at the expense of one of the guys who's seeking out people with football experience for consultation.
We've tried going with nothing but football lifers (hello Holmgren and his buddies that literally grew up around professional football in some cases) and it was a miserable failure.
How about maybe, just maybe, we should just go with smart guys who don't have a "system" they need justify and who just want to provide their coach the best players they can? Can we not give that one a try?

Hue and Sashi stated repeatedly today that we already have four QB's and they are perfectly satisfied with those guys. Since we are all set at QB we don't need to draft one. Of course that means we better WIN and SOON or heads should start rolling. Finding the QB is the hard part and since we are in such GREAT shape at the position there is no excuse for losing. Period. Since RG3 is such a GREAT fit here and we have SO many picks to fill the holes we have, winning should be a given. SO glad we now have our franshice QB. However, since we stupidly only signed him to a two year deal, Sashi better get busy on a LONG term contract extension. Don't want to lose the great RG3 now that we have found our franchise signal caller.....
He better PLAY like it. I expect to see 30+ passing touchdowns this year. I expect him to WIN a lot of games. Otherwise, putting all of our hopes on RG3 was stupid. If the QB the Eagles take turns out to be a franchise QB while RG3 flounders? Then it's time to FIRE EVERYONE yet again. You mees that up, you blow off taking a QB and he turns out to be great? You do so relying on a broken down FA you signed and he then flops? That's a career ender. So everything is AWESOME. As long as they are right about RG3. If they are wrong, they just set this franchise back a LONG time. Hope they are right, but I'll believe it when I see RG3 leading the league in TD passes while the Eagles suffer with their new QB.

Can we not give that one a try? Sure. Everything is PERFECT. RG3 is the greatest QB to ever live and our front office are so very smart we can't lose. Right? Cool. Then WE CAN'T LOSE. Winning tells the tale. THAT is how they are judged. So come September we will see very clearly just how smart these guys are. How glorious RG3 is. As long as have a winning record, they are doing a great job. As long as RG3 "studs out" like EO says, then everything is groovy. If those things DON'T happen, if we lose a lot, if RG3 gets hurt or just sucks then they aren't so damned smart and it will be time once again to clean house. Just win. No excuses. If everything is SO great then I will see that on Sundays this September. Or I won't and that will tell the tale.....

You should always believe everything people say in press conferences one week before the draft. Why wouldn't I believe it? Their actions prove it to be true. If they WEREN'T happy at QB they would have done everything they could to GET one. They passed so they must think we are in great shape at the position. RG3 is our franchise guy. If he isn't then they aren't so smart and it will be time to find another group that is..... Winning tells the tale. Browns win, they are brilliant. Browns lose and they are idiots. Easy analytics there..... Not rocket science.

If it passes and we still have only Griffin, McCown, Shaw, and Davis on the roster then I will join you in your outrage.

So you're giving this regime one off season to fix this team? Fair enough. I hope you're still hating on the FO if it turns around in year 2 or 3. I'd hate for you to have to be happy if it takes more than 1 year.

I said all along that HUE JACKSON has to be comfortable with and work with his QB. It's his choice as to whom he wants to "marry" Well, he married RG3. As long as we win there is nothing to be outraged about. Winning solves all problems. He made his choice, now it's time to rebuild RG3 into an actual quarterback that can actually read a defense. A qb that can stand in the pocket and deliver the football each and every play.As long as that happens it's all good in the hood. If he chose wrong and RG3 isn't the answer, then will will learn that very quickly and we are back to finding a new staff and front office.... They better draft RG3 some WEAPONS. We have no WR talent and no RB talent. None. Kind of hard to score when your one and only weapon is a TE.

I'd hate for you to have to be happy if it takes more than 1 year. This year a winning season, next year the playoffs, third year in the hunt for a SB. Why is that wrong if we are now all set at QB? If RG3 is such a GREAT player, how hard is it to build a team around him? We have TWELVE picks in the draft now. Having a STUD franchise QB and twelve picks seems to make it hard for them to lose. Right? They are SO very smart why would we have to wait years and years for results? Nope. If they are such great football minds. If RG3 is a top five QB, then we will see it in WINS.

So if you drafted a QB at pick #2 would they also have to win under the same circumstances you laid out?

So you understand that the team needs to be comfortable drafting a QB, but want them to draft one anyway. Also, you are tying RGIII to a guy who says he is not even the starter on the team. All of this before the draft.

Seems like the FO is just going to keep trading picks to acquire more picks then load the team up with mediocre mid-round players. That'll make us a winner...
It's supposed to be hard! If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard... is what makes it great!

Here is my hope. Elliot at #8. We have no running back. Elliot is a 3 down player. He not only can run the ball he's an excellent blocker and pass catcher. He would make our backfield a lot stronger.
At #32 if he's still on the board Ryan Kelly Center Alabama Best center in the draft. Plug the HUGE hole Mack left and give us a lot of push up the middle....
Find a RT either on the roster or later in the draft and we have a running game. That's a good start. Try to find some WR talent somewhere in the draft, perhaps in the 3rd and we have the start of something.

Do not like either of the QB's that are available and apparently they don't either. cbus...do you believe the Browns front office is better prepared to judge QB talent than the front office of the Rams or Eagles?
Before you answer, take the time to look up the experience level of each front office and those running the scouting departments.
JMHO, but our front office did not have the confidence in themselves to make a pick at the top of the draft..so they bailed, taking a shot gun approach, hoping to hit on "some" of their many picks they rather than risking it all on one pick at #2.
The Browns looked at this draft from a negative viewpoint rather than from a positive viewpoint. They were more worried about what might go wrong picking at #2...rather than what might be right about drafting at #2.
Obviously the Rams and Eagles did not view their trade(s) from a negative viewpoint. I suppose that kind of confidence in your own ability to judge talent comes from "experience"...the very ingredient lacking in the Browns front office. Where's the proof that what you said is actually true? I don't think that this front office is scared in the least. Listen, when you replace the incompetence of a FO like we had last year why would you fear replacing that? What do they have to fear, being fired? That's not going to happen at least for 3 years as I believe that was one of the selling points to get Depo here as well as Hue. That leads me into having the experience to select a QB. I believe that Hue, Pep, and his staff are at least as experienced with QB play and selection then the Rams and Jeff Fisher (who is a joke in my opinion), and the people in Philly. First it was the FO sucks and are out of their league because they let all our good players leave in FA. Now they suck because they are afraid to step up to the plate and select one of the two QBs who were at the top of the draft experts boards and should have been picked up by the Browns. The consensus among most media, NFL, and other football experts is that the Browns did the correct thing in trading down if they weren't in love with either Goff or Wentz. You are entitled to your opinion, but can you tell me what this FO will have to do before you give them some credit or at the very least the benefit of the doubt that they know more about what they are doing and what they need then you are?

So if you drafted a QB at pick #2 would they also have to win under the same circumstances you laid out? No. Then we would be bringing that guy along. He'd have to become the player we want. Drafting a QB is WAY different than saying "we already HAVE four QB's" so we don't have to draft one. Either you need one draft him and then have to develop him, or you already have one and need to build around him. These guys say we already have one so we don't need to draft one. In that case with all of the picks they have, seeing a MARKED improvement over last year when we DIDN'T have a QB and we DIDN'T have all these awesome players we will be drafting, along with our new and improved coaching staff, winning should happen. Right? Or are all these picks, and our new shiney QB and glorious coaching staff going to prove they are better by losing? As bad as Pettine and company were, our new staff should have no problem improving on that. Add to that our brand new franchise QB and we should definatley win more games. I keep hearing how positive I should be? Fine. I'm positive. Everything is sunny and bright. However, come September I better be SEEING how sunny and bright things are. I won't say the sky is green and the grass is blue. You all are so upbeat and positive? I'll buy that. Just as long as I SEE it on Sundays. I see a team like last years? Then things aren't sunny and bright.
