I heard the original painting was done on black velvet.

My thinking is slightly different. He was a carpenter at a time when everything was very physical. Most everything was carried by hand and I believe he would have been a muscular man.

Jesus was a very ordinary man of the time.

He probably had shorter hair, unlike the long hair shown in so many paintings. His skin was probably darker than most think, and probably wrinkled and weathered by the sun, wind, and sea. (He probably did a lot of work as a carpenter helping fishermen repair their boats, at least as much as what we think of as traditional carpentry work today)

He almost certainly would have been a fairly strong man. As said, he was a carpenter, a physically demanding occupation, and he also walked great distances. Some expect that he was in starvation mode, or something, but God always provided for Jesus and His Disciples. They always had a place to eat a meal, and to stay, whenever they entered a town, and if not, them they simply left and moved on. Jesus even told His Disciples to leave a town and kick the dust off your sandals if no one would give them food and lodging.

Jesus was described, in Isaiah, as a plain, ordinary man. He had no features that would make him stand out in a crowd, and in fact, was able to escape those who wanted to kill Him before His time by slipping through crowds and blending in. He was not handsome or majestic, so that no one would desire Him for those characteristics.

Oh I'm sure he was probably fairly strong but it was that wirey farmer type strong, not the bulging muscle type strong.

Oddly enough, the kid from "Heaven is for Real" supposedly identified him as the exact person he saw after he had his near death experience, without knowing of whom the picture was supposed to be.

I must apologize to God, and the others too should apologize to God, and who cares what people are offended. Sin is against God, It doesn't matter how many people want sin, and how much they want it, or how much people are offended, it is still wrong!

Because people are not God.

Only God is God, and to him the apology.

I have never once advocated hate towards a human being of ANY kind.

I have stated many time that IF your going to call yourself a Christian then obey the Bible and ACT like a Christian. I have never once said for anyone to treat people cruelly, told anyone to hate anyone else, or to harm anyone for religious beliefs or disbeliefs. If your going to say I preach hatred then provide a quote and some proof.

I take on the same attitude Jesus did: "And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn you: go, and sin no more" (John 8:2-11 NKJV).

He forgives yes. He ALSO says to SIN NO MORE. He doesn't say its ok to sin. He doesn't say some sins are ok and some are not. This is what Jesus says:

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them." Matthew 5:17

Forgive and be kind to people? YES. Condemn people? NO. Accept sin as OK? NO.

There is plenty that the Catholic church should apologize for sure. There are plenty of churches that could stand to do some of that. BUT no church and certainly not the POPE should be apologizing for calling something a sin when the Bible CLEARLY says its a sin.

I don't care what an atheist says he believes. That is his own business but when a major religion goes on the world stage and deviates from what the bible says to curry the favor of mankind because their membership is down and they are hurting for money then they are the ones doing evil. He is corrupting a light that should be bright and leading sinners to find Jesus. Not telling them their sinful ways are ok and acceptable.

Again I don't care what someone who is lost and without God says. They don't speak with a voice of authority and no one cares. If someone is going to say they are a Christian then they should ACT like it. There is no part of what I am saying that has to do with hate of any kind. It's about being true to the Bible you say you believe in. It's about leaders not being corrupt and leading their flocks astray.

If you want forgiveness then repent and "SIN NO MORE" not sin freely. If you don't want forgiveness then do whatever I don't care, so long as, it doesn't effect me personally(ex. stealing from me). If this short life is all you want then that is your choice. Really I don't care. I mean your being hoenst with yourself at least. I am just irked by people SAYING they are Christians and then they don't act like it and they don't follow what the Bible says in how to live your life. I am far, far tougher on Christian than sinners any given time because they should know better. Plus when a Christian sins and they disregard the teachings of the Bible then they are hurting the sinners a lot more than someone who is lost in sin because some of the meat heads out there will always try to find some bs lame excuse of, " I know so and so who goes to such and such church and they sin worse than I do ..." The bible is well aware that it works that way.

For if someone with a weak conscience sees you who are well informed eating in an idol's temple, will he not be encouraged to eat food sacrificed to idols?

The burden is on the Christian to live his life as the example to be set not for the sinner to do so. A Christian should live his life in such a way that it provides a light to show a sinner how to live his life. If even the Christian will fall into darkness then who will guide the lost? We have free will but it comes with a responsibility to live properly even more so because we know better.

Galatians 5:13
For you, brothers, were called to freedom; but do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh. Rather, serve one another in love.

I do not condemn you. I forgive you AND I tell you to SIN NO MORE not out of malice but out of love so that you may gain eternal life with God. If you think its easy to be a Christian with the responsibility to try and save those who are lost by TRYING to live a life that is pure and holy then you don't understand how hard it is. It's brutally hard and you don't get like or appreciated for it but if you care then you have to at least try to save a drowning man if your able even if he doesn't want to be saved.

I don't hate anyone and I don't preach hate. I do preach Christians get off their but, find their courage, and do God's will and help those who are lost and hurting. If you don't want to do God's will and obey him that is fine too. Just don't call yourself a Christian because while I don't hate the liar I do hate lies.

Homo sexuals are born that way. Most didn't choose to be gay.

You can't preach it out of somebody.

Being Homosexual and being attracted to the same sex may be how you were born but you have always had control over what you do about it.

Homosexual sex is a sin in the Christian, Jewish and Muslim Religions. Probably others I don't know about.

40 I believe being a Homosexual is a sin just like you do. HOWEVER I also believe that any straight man who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery in his heart. (Which I believe both you and I do 20 to 40 times a day lol) So in my humble opinion we are no different from gay people at all.

And having sex at the camps with each other. Completely opposite results from which they were hoping for.

People on here get squirrely when I say Homosexual sex is a sin. They tend to twist that to mean Homosexuals are bad.
