Trump is going to destroy Hillary in the debates. They are in a whole different league when it comes to public speaking, persuasion, and skill. Trump will have quite a bit of time to refine his policies and positions, and more of Hillary's scandals will surface in the meantime.

I was actually thinking about this the other day. I mentioned that I thought having two of the three presidential debates at the same time as prime time NFL games was 'unfortunate' timing for Trump, because it will take away the viewership (where he will likely perform extremely well) and specifically because that viewership will be disproportionately people who would be receptive to his ideas, as football has long been known to attract more conservative viewers.

It was also a little bit tactless in making a big deal out of this, IMO. The commission that scheduled the event is bipartisan and therefore at least nominally unbiased. A reasonable person could say, look, this was scheduled a long time ago, there will still be a ton of viewers, others will watch tape it or watch it on the internet later or whatever. Fair enough. What's going on here?

Well, Hillary is locked in now! It's on the record everywhere-- we all know when the debates are and when they were scheduled. While she may have previously been able to weasel out of one or more of them (like she did one of the scheduled debates vs Bernie) but the backlash would be huge.

I fully admit that I could be reading way too much into this one. Wouldn't be the first time, won't be the last time.

Trump's getting slaughtered in those debates.

It would be neat to hear him state how much hillary has gotten from wall street, and then contrast that with how she attacks wall st. In fact, that would be hilarious.

But, I will say, most of her supporters seem to live off the gov't. now, or will after 30 years of work.

What would hurt Trump would be if he had to explain his policies. Just saying you'll make great trade deals isn't going to fly.
