I guess we don't have a choice as to who will stat next week.
Looks like Pryor will get the week 4 nod atter Kessler goes out with an injured shoulder. You are mistaken, Pryor is week five. Hogan gets week four.

Just when u think this can't get worse it does .. U couldn't write this stuff .. This is the absolute worse start we could have had ... Our 3rd different QB will be starting in week 3 .. That's hard to believe even for us ..
Like candy pointed out ... Kessler's playing .. Nothing else to really talk about .. Weather he's ready or not or weather u want him out there yet or not .. IRRELIVENT .. He's playing ..
Question is .. Who's the next man up ..
I'd rather he didn't play .. But there's not other choice .. Only thing left to say is .
GOOD LUCK and GO KODY!!!!!

He's probably not ready for it but I'd ask this.
What's he learning behind these current QBs?
It's one thing to be Aaron Rodgers behind Brett Favre but what does Kessler get behind Griffin or McCown?
He could sit here for three years and learn to be a mediocre backup. When is it the right time? Around here the answer seems to be never... If it was that easy, somebody out of Damon Huard, Rohan Davey, Matt Cassel, Brian Hoyer, Ryan Mallett, et.al. would have been good because they all got to sit and watch Tom Brady for at least 2 or 3 years... and none of them are worth a damn. Kessler will either be good or he won't. My guess is he won't because he just seems to be lacking in the physical tools... McCown is what he is, he's a pretty good back-up, capable of finishing a game or getting you a win once in a while if needed. He is no where near good enough to carry a team, especially one with our youth and deficiencies, to victory on a regular basis in the NFL.. that's what he is, that's what he's always been. That said, if he's healthy, I'd play McCown all day every day until at least the mid-point of the season before I considered putting Kessler in. I he's the next Tom Brady but I'm seriously doubting it... so if we need to see him on the field to reinforce that we absolutely BETTER take a QB with our top pick next year, then damn it, run him out there for the second half of the season.

That being said, cfrs15, surprised you haven't started the catch phrases yet.
Wipe for Watson?
I can't think of anything for Kizer.

Welp, there goes Coleman's Fantasy Value.
Seriously though. We have a bunch of Deep Threat WRs, can Kessler use them?
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

Is losing wiser for Kizer? or Losing for Kizer is wiser.

What's that got to do with coming up with catchy phrases?

I am curious to see how Kessler does.
He played in the preseason with the scrubs, against scrubs. He completed pass to players like Eagen, Devalve, Payton, (with a late start because of injury, and who has been inactive for the 1st 2 games) Gabriel, (probably the only one with any ability at that point in the preseason) Jennings, and 1 TD to Higgins.
Eagen, Gabriel, and Jennings are no longer on the team. Payton is inactive thus far, as he really fell behind. DeValve is our 3rd TE. Gabriel has 3 catches for 28 yards in Atlanta.
His preseason OL was even worse than the receivers he had to work with.

So Kessler is starting, who's blocking for him? Are either Coleman or Drango ready?

What sucks bro is that we don't really have WR's that are experienced enough to be a security blanket for Kessler.
We essentially got two rookies starting. Our 'vets' is an 5'7 slot WR and a new on the scene TE.
Wish is still a ton more better than who he played with in the preseason, but still.
Anyway, something tells me he's not gonna be anywhere near as bad as people think.
But since this is the Browns, more than likely he'll be a colossal failure.

Gary Barnidge really is the only security blanket I see. If we can somehow manage to run the ball like we did in Baltimore, that'll be Cody's savior, or at least will help him out the most.
In all reality, I'd make sure the entire defense carb loads before the game, because they'll need all the energy they can get when we go 3 and out over, and over, and over, and over and over again...

What if... Kessler throws for 372 yards and 3Td's, no interceptions and has a completion percentage of 68% and the Browns win?

Then mac would have to be quiet for a week about Prescott.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Hunter + Dart = This is the way.

Positives with Cody.
He gets the ball out much quicker than RG3 and Josh. Good or bad its coming out quick. He is a small ball QB and we have guys that can run after the catch.
Now he looked like crap in preseason but most of the guys he was playing behind and with are no longer on anyone's roster. He will have Coleman, Pryor, Hawkins, Barnidge along with Crow and Duke.
This will be the first time Hue will have game planned for Cody's skill set.
I am looking forward to getting to see another browns rookie given the chance to sink or swim.

Well, at least we aren't playing a team with a dominating pass rush with a new center and new QB or anything............
May God have mercy on Cody's soul once Suh is done playing trampoline with his face.
you had a good run Hank.

I can't think of anything for Kizer. I definitely did start a catch phrase earlier. One of them was "Go flotsam for Watson." I don't remember the Kizer one but "Stink like fertilizer for Kizer" is pretty good.

Heck both them scare me, and I don't even have to take the field with em'..

The thing that bugs me most about this progressively deteriorating QB carousel we have going on is that we have a ton of young guys that need to learn and grow.. and they aren't going to learn and grow much playing with an unprepared rookie QB or anybody who may follow him.. and they aren't going to learn when we are only using 25% of the playbook, and they aren't going to learn when we are down by 30 every week with other teams just pinning their ears back and coming after us...
This is how that mentality of losing perpetuates itself and creeps into all of our draft picks. They come here eager to make things better and fix it and then a season or two of this and it has to feel like "What the hell, nothing I can do about this."
This sucks.

Our savior... When you look at our run blocking last game this may not be as ridiculous as it seems. Last time this dude was given a shot he took over a 1-5 Denver team, won 7 of 8, and then beat the steelroids in the playoffs. For those of us who are already looking for the first pick in the draft we may be glad he was blackballed because of his beliefs.

Cody leaves me in serious doubt.
When I watched him last year I saw a college quarterback not a NFL caliber quarterback.
So far this year I have seen Watson, Chad Kelly, and Kizer play.
Still will watch a ton more but so far nobody jumps out for me. I have been watching quarterback play heavy since 1963. I believe in my ability to see NFL talent. I am not saying I am a pro or know more than Hue Jackson or anyone else for that matter. But I trust my judgement.
I sure hope there is a quarterback in this coming draft because the answer is not on the team.

I 100 percent would rather have Tebow than any QB on the roster currently.
At least he doesn't break. Hue screwed the pooch with our QBs. First team invalids.
