That doesn't make any sense.

Trump wouldn't be able to do anything either. Neither would Gary or stein.

Hell, with his plan, we'd actually go backwards with healthcare. Then the hope of price caps completely goes out the window.

This is gonna have to be worked by congress. It's a bipartisan problem that both parties are bought by big pharma.

Well it's gotta be a bipartisan effort to change that.

So you can mention Hillary all you want, when crap hits the fan, it's always conservatives crying about the Feds overstepping their reach on big business.

I hope you understand that. You're in the minority in your own ideology that wants price caps.

Regulations= nogo for conservatives and republicans as a majority.

I doubt that a regulation would ever be proposed in the first place.

I think it would certainly be proposed, and even approved.

The question if the Supreme Court will rule it unconstitutional.

When it comes to business, this group of judges, even the liberal ones, have ruled in favor of them.

So at the end of the day, we have to bend over backwards to big pharma. Or do indirect workarounds.

Best advice: early voting is where it's at. The benefits:

1. No line to wait in.
2. 15 minutes, total in/out.
3. 1/2 hour, driveway to driveway.
4. Now I can ignore all you procrastinators and your arguments for the next 2 weeks!

But if I vote today, that would deprive Hillary of 2 more weeks to convince me to vote for her.

At least I answered directly with what I feel is a major reason for the hike.

All you're doing is....well offering no dialogue or solution yourself.

Former Secretary of State Powell will vote for Clinton: Newsday

https://www.yahoo.com/news/former-secretary-state-powell-vote-clinton-media-reports-194910357.html

(Reuters) - Colin Powell, who served as secretary of state in Republican President George W. Bush's administration, said on Tuesday he would vote for Democrat Hillary Clinton in the Nov. 8 presidential election, according to Newsday newspaper.

Powell, who made the announcement at an event hosted by a Long Island business group in Woodbury, New York, said Republican Donald Trump was "not qualified" and had sold Americans a "bill of goods" that he could not deliver, Newsday said.

"He has insulted America in one way almost every day," Powell said of Trump, according to the newspaper.

"He has insulted Latino Americans. He has insulted African-Americans. He has insulted women. He has insulted his own party. He has insulted our allies around the world one by one. He has insulted veterans," Powell said.

He praised Clinton and said he considered the Democratic nominee a "friend" whom he had known for 20 years.

"She is smart. She is capable. She was a good secretary of state," Powell said, according to Newsday.

"She is balanced, she has temperament and no matter what anyone says she has stamina ... I think she is fully qualified to serve as the president of the United States and will serve it with distinction," Powell was quoted as saying by Newsday.

In hacked emails leaked in September by a group U.S. intelligence officials suspect is linked to Russia, Powell referred to Trump as "a national disgrace" and said Clinton was "greedy" and had "unbridled ambition."

Powell, a former chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, also endorsed Democrat Barack Obama in his two successful presidential campaigns in 2008 and 2012.

I have said it many times before, you want to solve the problems of costs with ObamaCare and trying to regulate drug prices, get the government out of it and have the Private sector come up with a real plan, nationwide, with competition among insurance companies!

The private sector was the reason the ACA was birthed in the first place.

Sorry, but we already see, even with Obamacare, big pharma will do whatever they can to put profit over actual health.

So, I rather do what we can to tweak and adjusts wnd evolve the ACA to be effective, then go back to the same system that screwed us over in the first place.

It's the same reason why nobody bought Trumps trickle down economics crap.

It. Doesn't. Work.

so the ACA needs a lot of work. It's a work in progress. But the majority of Americans don't want to revert back, and Election Day will show that.

Edit to add: There are also so-called "Christian" churches that do not follow the Bible. Some even teach that Jesus was not God. That's downright scary, because the entire backbone of Christianity is that faith in Christ is the only means of salvation. These are inevitably also churches that teach that people can do anything they want, as long as they "believe". Many people profess being Christians, but never read their Bible, nor do they ever attend services. They make it all up as they go along, doing whatever they can talk themselves into as being "right". I know this, because I was one, and have been friends with many other people who do/have done the same.

Hopefully the US will, one day, turn back to Christ, instead of turning their backs on Christ.

Religion is a measure of moral character, not proof, and it is not limited to Christianity. Many who are not religious are moral. And vice-versa as well. I have seen so called Christians steal during the week and go to church on Sunday. And there are those pastors the will guide you to heaven as long as you keep sending them money.

Moral character is determined first by how you were taught by your parents, and demonstrated when no one else is looking.

Sorry about having to dispute this, but there are just so many cases where this is not true, I had to comment.

I don't argue that many who claim to be "religious" sometimes act in ways that are anything but moral. That said, I firmly and absolutely believe that if people are taught Biblical Christianity, the world would be a better place. Instead Christianity, in common parlance today, is whatever people want it to be, no matter whether what they say or profess agrees with the teachings of Jesus or not.

Jesus warned of the narrow gate and the wide gate ..... and I r=truly fear that many people who would describe themselves as Christians, are anything but, because they have never accepted Christ as Lord and Savior. Too many today say that as long as you believe in Jesus, then you're fine, but Satan believe in Christ. That's not going to save him, because he remains in rebellion against God. I think that too many churches fail to teach the basics of Christianity, and salvation.

That said, if a person attends church, there is, at least, the possibility that they might crack a Bible open. I also do think that fellowship with other Christians is important.

I agree that many people do not practice what they preach ..... and that is a problem ...... but I do not think that running from the church is the answer.

Once was enough, thank you.

I still have to clean/reorganize my studio, re-file sheet music that has been collecting dust, work on my garage, and shut down the back yard for Winter... all while maintaining a full-time job.

This stuff has occupied enough of my life already.
Onward- to better things.

Just one more thing off of 'Clemmy's to-do list,' you know?

Feels good, checking this one off...

Do I think that people can do nice things for others if they believe in different religions?

Sure. It has happened, and it will happen again.

Do I believe that they will be saved, or condemned, at judgement?

According to the Bible the only way to salvation is through Jesus. All of our good deeds are as filthy rags to God, because even the best of us, without Jesus, are still filthy in our sins. The Bible teaches that there is only ONE way to salvation, and that is by the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. .

Okay, so you believe if people are religious it would be good for America? Doesn't matter if it's something different from Christianity, correct?

I believe that some people who follow other religions do some good things on a earthly basis. However, even the person who follows another religions, and who does good for other people every single day, also can do evil, if they lead others away from Christ.

So, such people may have temporal benefit, however, they will bring eternal consequences on those they lead away from Christ, in some belief that there is more than one way to salvation.

And people that believe in Jesus do no wrong?

I cannot follow you. Your line of thought makes no sense.

Have you ever considered the possibility that there may be more than one path?

And have you forgotten about those who follow part 1 of the Bible?

I don't blame JUST the libs bro ..

U may want to quit doing what u rail on most of the time .. pigeon holing people when u have no clue what is in their hearts or minds ..

30 years ago i was a die hard republican ..

20 years ago I realized THEY DIDN'T CARE ABOUT US EITHER ...

Take a look at the lives the politicians have created for themselves vs us .... . then get back to me ..

And do it objectively .. and THINK FOR YOURSELF ... your a smart guy Swish .. we don't agree on a thing now .. would love to see where your at in 20 years .. go look at guys like Harry Reid or John Boehner and let me know how they've done for themselves during their years of "public service" .. they've ALL passed MANY laws that only help themselves (100 pension for life after 1 term is just one example ... u think there on oBUMa care ..) .. they've ALL passed many laws to take care of their LOBBYISTS witch is the group they actually care about ...

As for millineals .. i feel sorry for your generation .. MY GENERATION has left u one hell of a mess ..

I don't point fingers like most .. i LOOK IN THE MIRROR FIRST ..

We've CREATED A MESS ... that u guys will left with ..

Like i said in the other thread ..

I'm doing what i can to take care of mine ... cause this country has FUNDAMENTAL ISSUES that are death kneels and not something were going to recover from ..

Its your choice bro .. u can prepare for it or keep your head in the same and IGNORE what our reality is ..
