My bad devil, I apologize.
I was not aware that it was an unreasonable expectation of me to require the Secretary of State position filled with people with diplomatic relations that benefit the people, not companies.
I now understand that the Secretary of State is suppose to be an oil tycoon capable of striking deals with Russia, and preferably ways to take oil from the Middle East and discredit climate t change.
Yea let's privatize it all.
Our government shouldn't be a government for the people. No no, the founding fathers got it all wrong.
The government should be a government for the Rothchilds and Koch Brothers.
That's true freedom, after all.

It more has to do with exxon claiming to lose a billion dollars last year because of the sanctions on Russia because of Ukraine. It now appears to both, Republicans and Democrats in Congress, that Trump will probably want to overturn the executive actions against Russia. Which is why some house Republicans are trying to make the sanctions come from Congress instead.
I think that people are critical of this because it means that Trump will get walked all over by Russia. OK, now we've got some substance to work with. Thank you. I will say that the concern you laid out is legit. And I'm cool with congressional over site on such matters... though the sanctions should probably come from in the first place. What I'm still unclear on is this oft repeated notion that Trump will get walked over by Russia. If Obama didn't get walked over by Putin, then I don't know what that looks like to be honest. See, here's the thing to consider. I think you have to look at Trumps Cabinet as a whole. Look at Gen. Mattis... he's not the "Nuke 'em" as his first and only option. He's an actual student of history and current foreign affairs. He is not going to be one who will stand idly by and allow Trump to sell out to Putin if he should attempt that. I wholly expect that at some point in time we'll have entered in to some arrangements we may not be entirely comfortable with. I may or may not be ok with it when it happens... but I suspect there will be some clear gain on our part for being involved. We'll just have to hash out whether or not that gain is worth it.

Are you guys saying that Tillerson will still be employed by Exxon should he be confirmed Sec of State? If he isn't, you guys acting like he still is would be like telling Bill Cowher he couldn't coach here because coaching the Steelers was on his resume.

Do you think David Ross stopped working for a Rothchild now that he's in a cabinet position?

Can you show me one example of Russia walking over Obama? I've still yet to see one shred of proof. I mean, if you look at the geopolitical landscapes of 08 to today, you see Russia weakened in both the Baltic area and the middle East. Two of their stronger allies are in the middle or ending of revolutions. Their gas industry took a major hit and now they're sanctioned further costing them money.

If you're gonna keep dodging, then fine bro.
It's all good.
So you're cool with corporate top dogs directly running government agencies.
It's just always gonna be a fundamental difference between us.
All good, we're still boys.

We're the coolest. You know I only have mad respect for you. We might not be the most diplomatic in our conversations, but it's all love at the end of the day.
I don't think he'll still work at exxon. But government employees are still able to keep stock options and can still have income tied to these companies. I think I was the biggest hater of the UN Ambassador/Benghazi scapegoat becoming our secretary of state, because she hd a lot of stock in keystone xl and things.

Hey man, it could be worse... it could be you or I running the gov't If I were President I'd name you to head of the DEA. Reform it, aim resources where they need to go, divert enforcement from pot farmers to other stuff... I'll roll with your judgement and recommendations. CHS... I'd appoint him to Labor Sec but I'd be afraid he'd see the word "Labor" on his office door and take that as a cue to launch a People's Revolution. I'd probably risk it though. 40 would be my Sec Def. No, I wouldn't actually let him talk to anybody, but I'd keep him caged up. When I dealt with a country I'd be like "Look, I don't want to let him out any more than you do because I have no idea what will happen. But I'll do it just to prove a point". Yes I'm spiteful like that.

And that's an issue that I'm not sure has a clear solution. It USED to be from my understanding that when you got in to public office, all your stocks and investments went in to a blind trust, managed by someone else. But shortly after Martha Stewart got rail roaded it came to light that members of Congress on both sides were getting rich off of what would have been considered insider trader info for you and me. No one got in trouble because they passed a law at some point exempting them or some such nonsense. It's tough balancing act. I mean, on one hand we don't want people using their office to their own benefit, but we should want highly successful people in charge of things.

Your post had me dying. But I promise me at Department of Labor, would be better than me at the head of the EPA And you are so right about congressmen. Always trifling, arm deep in some insider trading. Of course they don't want the electorate to know about that. It used to be, a few years ago even, that you could search the portfolios of a congressmen's staff just for the heck of it. Today, congress eroded that law so much that you can't even search for them without going to a specific place and having the person's name you want to search. It's ridiculous. They're about the closest we'll see to a congressmen's portfolio. They certainly do insider trading on the regular. It's a shame. I wish part of The Don's plan to drain the swamp, would have just made it a lot more transparent. It's sickening what these congressmen do in the name of money.

Umm.....why do they need grenade launchers? Police expect Trump to lift limits on surplus military gear https://www.yahoo.com/news/police-expect-trump-lift-limits-surplus-military-gear-143128818.htmlHAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- If president-elect Donald Trump keeps his promise, surplus military grenade launchers, bayonets, tracked armored vehicles and high-powered firearms and ammunition will once again be available to state and local U.S. police departments. National police organizations say they'll hold Trump to that promise. President Barack Obama issued an executive order restricting that access in 2015 amid an outcry over police use of armored vehicles and other war-fighting gear to confront protesters in Ferguson, Missouri, after the fatal shooting of Michael Brown. Since then, federal officials have recalled more than 1,800 items, which have been destroyed through target practice or otherwise disposed of, officials say. But state and local police organizations have protested, insisting that military-style vehicles and gear help protect officers' lives and public safety — for example, a privately manufactured, tracked armored vehicle played a key role in the police response to the mass shooting at a county government building in San Bernardino, California, in December 2015. During his campaign, Trump sided with the police. In September, he promised to rescind the executive order in a written response to a Fraternal Order of Police questionnaire that helped him win an endorsement from the organization of rank-and-file officers. "The 1033 program is an excellent program that enhances community safety. I will rescind the current executive order," reads the response posted on the group's website. "We take him at his word," Executive Director James Pasco said in a recent telephone interview. The Trump transition team did not respond to questions from The Associated Press about the executive order. National Sheriffs' Association Executive Director Jonathan F. Thompson said his group has pressed the topic in discussions with Trump's transition team. And William J. Johnson, executive director of the National Association of Police Organizations, said he was encouraged by his conversations with Trump representatives before the Nov. 8 election. "The feeling that we got is they absolutely hear us and they share our concerns," he said. Obama's order was triggered partly by police use of military-style gear and vehicles in response to the 2014 unrest in Ferguson. The order prohibited the federal government from providing grenade launchers, bayonets, tracked armored vehicles, weaponized aircraft and vehicles, and firearms and ammunition of .50-caliber or greater to state and local police agencies. Since then, the Defense Logistics Agency has recalled 138 grenade launchers, more than 1,600 bayonets and 126 tracked vehicles — those that run on continuous, tank-like tracks instead of wheels — that were provided through the military's 1033 program, agency spokeswoman Michelle McCaskill said. Peter Kraska, a professor at Eastern Kentucky University's School of Justice Studies who has studied the militarization of police, said Obama's executive order has had little effect because there was relatively little demand for the prohibited items to begin with. "It was more symbolic politics than anything substantive," he said. The order also added requirements for record-keeping, local oversight and training for the acquisition or use of other surplus military equipment such as wheeled armored vehicles, but those hurdles apparently have not deterred agencies from obtaining the gear. McCaskill said 183 law enforcement agencies have received mine-resistant, ambush-protected vehicles or MRAPs, through the 1033 program so far this year. That's more than the 165 MRAPs that were distributed in 2013. Nevertheless, Kraska said, there's nothing to justify most police departments having such equipment. "It just ramps up the probability that this kind of kind of high-end military hardware is going to be misapplied," he said. But Cass County, North Dakota, Sheriff Paul Laney said the executive order is aimed at urban areas and ignores the usefulness of tracked vehicles in rugged terrain. "They fail to realize the dilemma it puts sheriffs in who live in the rural areas, the desert areas, the mountain areas," he said. Oakland County, Michigan, Sheriff Michael Bouchard, whose tracked vehicle was recalled, said rescinding the order would restore police access to equipment they've been denied for what he called "purely optic" reasons. Groups on both ends of the political spectrum have expressed concern about police militarization, from civil-rights organizations such as the NAACP and ACLU to the libertarian Cato Institute. Raed Jarrar, government relations manager for the American Friends Service Committee, a Quaker group committed to peace and social justice, said the executive order wasn't effective but rescinding it would send a message that "rather than attempting to curb militarism, the president-elect is planning to continue on that path." The Charles Koch Institute, founded by its conservative billionaire namesake, considers the restrictions under Obama's executive order "a decent start," said William Ruger, vice president of policy and research. "We don't want local police departments to be incentivized to get the types of equipment that in most cases are a better fit for the war zone," he said.

I don't get the bayonets... tracked vehicles... not sure about that either... but the grenade launchers would be used for crowd control. The tear gas they use are 40mm rounds.
Unless they are talking about a MK 19... that would be some BS.

Well yeah... you've got padded armor, riot helmets, shields, batons. But those are mostly defensive in nature as we don't get to go all Braveheart on crowds.
Then you move up to things like non-lethal rounds... rubber bullets, pepper ball rounds, bean bag rounds. Thing with that kind of stuff is that there is still a fair chance of some kind of injury. Those bean bag rounds are fired out of a 12 gauge shotgun.
Tear gas and pepper spray are the most economical for crowd dispersement and have the least risk for injury. The tear gas is a lesser grade CS gas than what you and I are used to in the military. The pepper spray is risky if the winds change.

The bayonets are to help cutting the wrapping around all the civil forfeiture monies.

And all that is fine.
But that's not the stuff they are asking for. I'll give you the grenade launcher ONLY if that's what they plan to use it for.
But all that other crap...shouldn't even be a discussion. It's ridiculous and overkill.

This presidency is going to be exactly what I thought it would be no matter if Clinton or Trump were elected.
Any time people are forced to elect what they perceive as the lesser of two evils, you still end up with evil. And we did.

So we got 3 guys tied to The GS bank, and another couple guys representing big oil.
Conservatives ran their mouths over and over again about Hillary being bought by Wall Street, so I'm struggling to understand how any of them can turn around and be like "yea, this is fine"
It's a direct contradiction of everything they complained about.
It really is party over anything else. Right now their entire rhetoric the election cycle isn't lining up with their responses of what's actually happening.
But it isn't surprising. They actually liked the 2000-08 years. So hey, if their fine with this, then I don't want to hear any complaint from conservatives when our country starts looking like Kansas.

The Trump presidency has been pretty interesting so far in some ways. He met with Leo DiCaprio to talk about global warming and environmental issues. Now he has a meeting with Kanye West today.

In other news ...Jim Brown, Ray Lewis talk of 'fantastic' meeting with TrumpPresident-elect Donald Trump met Tuesday with former football superstars Jim Brown and Ray Lewis to talk about curbing gang violence. Brown and Lewis praised the president-elect after the meeting at Trump Tower. They said they primarily spoke to Trump about Brown's Amer-I-Can philanthropy, which aims to keep kids away from gang violence. "We couldn't have had a better meeting," Brown said. "The graciousness, the intelligence, the reception we got was fantastic." Former "Apprentice" star Omarosa Manigault and Cleveland Pastor Darrell Scott, two of Trump's most prominent black supporters, sat in on the meeting. Scott told reporters that the president-elect gave a "verbal commitment" to merge Brown's program with the Trump administration. Throughout the campaign's closing stretch, Trump make direct appeals to the black community, promising that he would help make their communities safer as president. Brown and Lewis were superstars in the NFL and both won the MVP award and the league championship. Lewis, who played for the Baltimore Ravens, told reporters that Trump is committed to "helping us change what hasn't been changed." He praised the Amer-I-Can program and said he supports Trump's pick to lead the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Ben Carson. "What we believe, with the Trump administration, is if we can combine these two powers of coming together, forget black and white. Black or white is irrelevant," he said. "The bottom line is job creation and economic development in these urban areas to change the whole scheme of what our kids see." The athletes' appearance at Trump Tower came hours after another major celebrity, musician Kanye West, met with the president-elect. http://thehill.com/blogs/in-the-know/in-...ting-with-trump

WOW .... Trump is ROCKIN IT ... He's meeting with anyone and everyone ... disagree with him ... no biggie .. how can WE DO THIS ... He's living up to his pledge to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN ... He's amazing me ... "What we believe, with the Trump administration, is if we can combine these two powers of coming together, forget black and white. Black or white is irrelevant" Swish ... even in your eyes .. we may be on the "same squad" ...

Kanye just got out of the psyc ward. And his first major move after getting out is to meet with Trump?
Lol.
CHS is in your squad now. I stopped listening to Kanye after Watch The Throne.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
