Pluto is Roman...lol Gyro is not somebodies name...its a Spicy Lamb Meatloaf
back to the thread. Garrett seems to be more and more the lock pick as we could have our QB at 12.
This is the most ever that we have done pre-draft before. If we don't trade away some 2nd rounders for JG...we will have 3 more impact picks. OJ Howard might be one of them leaving more than probable 2 defensive picks in the 2nd round. If one of 3 DBs is there at 12. Adams, Lattimore and Hooker I think we pull the trigger on them.

I'm slowly becoming open to this idea. I'd still rather give up 3 2nd rounders for him. Or Brock (we eat his salary for 2016) and 2 second rounders. (incidentally, if the 3 2nd rounders I mentioned average being the 50th pick, they add up to be equivalent to the 12th overall pick, just sayin )

Obviously I'd like to give up as little as possible and if we could pull it off without including the #12 pick, that would be awesome

With the improvements to the oline. Geared I believe towards being able to run the ball more.
I would be surprised if we took Fournette at 12 if he was there.
It's not very analytical. Taking a RB in the 1st round.
I just have a feeling.

Sounds like Sydney Jones tore his achilles at UW's pro day. Probably takes him out of the running at 12 (and 33). PFT Link

I've been thinking along similar lines. If we don't use #12 to get JG, I think it's the one of our top 5 picks to go offense; Fournette, Howard, Ross...

Garrett at 1...and if we had to stay at 12...I'd say TE OJ Howard...(I expect S Adams, Hooker, RB Fournette to be gone) CB seems like its a toss up of who's even the #1 CB this year...And I would look for defense in round 2 (Budda Baker and Jourdan Lewis) or if QB Watson is there.

I'm kinda thinkin' if Jimmy Garopollo stays put we may very well trade up from number 12 to get a QB.
Wouldn't surprise me.

Wouldn't surprise me. I sincerely (hope not) doubt it. It's established that this is a "weak" QB class. I don't see us giving away assets to move up to get a QB with a 2nd round value. I'd think we'd trade back from 12 actually. And if the guy falls to us. And the value is there. That's when we take him.

Wouldn't surprise me. We may not need to. Lot's of team who needed a QB signed FA qbs. They may still draft one, but the odds are less that they will. We may not even have to use the 12th pick. I think we might move up from 33 and get to around 25 to select a qb.

Right now we've got Kessler, Hogan & Osweiler. I don't think we'll keep Osweiler. It wouldn't surprise me if we traded up in order to get Mitch Trubisky.

I'm kinda thinkin' if Jimmy Garopollo stays put we may very well trade up from number 12 to get a QB. Our front office values draft picks over almost everything (I don't think that is up for debate at this point). I don't see them trading draft picks to trade up that high in the draft. I think we either take a QB at 12 (unlikely), select a non-QB (more likely), or trade down (likeliest).

Is there any other fan base that would consistently mention moving up from, wherever to pick up a Qb, when that team has the #1 overall pick?
Maybe the Browns could trade with the Browns.
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

The jist I get is there will be no need to trade up from #12 to get a QB. It's a weak class.
At this point, I'm not even sure, unless it involves JG, that the Browns should even have a QB on their radar at all in the first round.
Edit- yes, this is a reversal of what I said earlier with using #12 on Mitch. I would like to go back and change that.
#1, Garrett, #12, Marlon Humphrey.

#1 - Garrett #12 - If not used for JG, Haason Reddick (perfect for rover back in Williams D, I believe)

#1 Garrett #12 Unless Trub or Hooker is available at 12, I actually look to trade back 3 or 4 spots and pick up an extra pick in the 2nd or 3rd round.

Wouldn't surprise me. NO! This draft and next years draft is going to define this team the FO and the coaching staff for the next 10 years. They better take the BPA and not screw it up this year. IMO they should use every pick they have left this year and take the BPA to make the team better. Tons of great players this year. Just no standouts at QB. Let a QB fall to us and not stretch for one. Just let it happen and take the BP'sA.

#1 Garrett I actually look to trade back 3 or 4 spots and pick up an extra pick in the 2nd or 3rd round. That never works out here. Show me one instance that giving up top picks and top first rd talent for more picks later has ever worked out for us?

Show me one instance that giving up top picks and top first rd talent for more picks later has ever worked out for us? Yeah Mack worked out ok, YIPPEE! We got a pro bowl center that didn't hardly help our deplorable offense. Could have also worked out if we took. Crabtree, Raji, Jenkins, C. Matthews, or Orakpo.

Stand down. LOL Actually it didn't work out so well since Mack took the money and ran. I know you all don't want to hear about any other trades we made in the 1st rd since 99.

I think I changed my tune. After the FA, I think they want to just roll with Kessler and since he is so good on the crossing routes, I think we will draft O.J. Howard because a great TE can hide some of Kessler issues.
1. Garret 12. O.J Howard

I provided one (it is the exception). Mack not re-signing doesn't have anything to do with his play as a player. The trades have been good. The picks have been bad.
