Bill pulled the plug on Kosar in 93 and no one saw that coming ... He's also said he realized that was a mistake.

Brady had a 5 year low in INT last year. He is falling apart. I am of the opinion that if we really, really believe that Jimmy is a franchise quality QB, then I would be OK with doing #12 this year, a 2nd next year, and maybe even a 3rd in 2019. (maybe conditional, that could slide between a 2nd and a 5th, depending on performance) However, as in all things QB related, if they make the trade, and sign him to the deal such a deal would require ..... they better be right.

Bill pulled the plug on Kosar in 93 and no one saw that coming ... Oh my goodness!!! Are you comparing Bernie to Brady? Did you not look at the stats I just posted? If you don't like stats, did you not watch Brady play this year? How many Super Bowls has he won? How many did Bernie win? And btw................I was hoping Bill would bench Bernie that year because frankly, at that point of their careers, Vinny was a way better qb than Bernie. Bernie never "won" a starting job again in the NFL. He was a back-up in Dallas and Miami and retired a couple of years later. Bill isn't trading/cutting Brady. This is just utter nonsense.

I don't remember it, either.
And it wasn't a mistake. It was the right move.........football wise, if not in the eyes of the local media and public opinion.

I'll do some google searching in a bit.
But I swear I either read something or watched something that said he looked back on it and "regretted" it. Might of just been how it was done. I dunno.
I'll look.

Bill pulled the plug on Kosar in 93 and no one saw that coming ... He's also said he realized that was a mistake. The timing was a mistake, and the way in which it was done was a mistake, but Kosar was all but dome after that. He did play for the 'Boys, and contributed, but his arm was completely shot. The 'Boys didn't try to bring him back following the Super Bowl. Kosar went to Miami, and rode the bench for 3 years, behind Marino, before retiring. It was the right time for Kosar to hang it up. I just looked, and in his final 5 games in Cleveland, he threw a whopping 3 TD passes and 3 ING. His arm was noticeably shot. It was time. Unfortunately, Vinnie was hurt when Bill booted Bernie, which stuck us with Eric Ziere (sp) as our starter for a few weeks, which was catastrophic. JMESHR (just my ever so humble remembrances)

He might have regretted HOW and in what manner he did it, but I doubt very much he considered it a mistake that he did do it.

Would trading Brady, let's say after 2017 season, be a mistake?

I think that if it comes to a trade, Brady might just retire. After such a storied career in NE, anything else would be anti-climatic. But then, if he did take a trade and won a SB, it would silence any "it was the system" argument.

I just don't see if happening. Exploring the hypothetical.
He's not going to trade him in the AFC.
He's not going to trade him to a crappy team out of respect, but trading him to a mid level team, let alone a QB-Away team is just asking for a Brady vs Bill SB.
Roger Goodell might have a heart attack.
In that case..

5. I’d expect the Browns to make a real run at Patriots QB Jimmy Garoppolo. I also know other teams have come away with the impression he’s not being moved.
6. One sign Garoppolo won’t be moved? There are coaches and front-office staff in Chicago who love Garoppolo. And the Bears moved on and signed Mike Glennon. http://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2017/03/16/washi...der-bruce-allen

you guys havnt figure out it isnt jg we trying for yet? does "diminishing skills" ring a bell? A couple of days ago with the reports the PATS are keeping JG and he is their future...I did state - half jokingly. We are going for the wrong QB
Brady is still playing like he's in his prime. Which is why BB is just trying ploy after ploy to up the ante.
I have been thinking our 33 and next year 2nd...or I would go for the 52 this year and next year 2nd and 3rd.
Unless 49ers or Bears or Bills or Jets are willing to depart with their first rounders in this Defensive powerhouse draft!

I think we should start leaking some "#12 for Cousins" rumors.

J/c ...
It amazes me that a lot of u guys just won't admit there's at least a 50% chance he stays put ... and that point just gets driven home once again with this BS .....
Just because Brady says he wants to play 5 more years doesn't mean he's going to be PHYSICALLY CAPABLE to ... i get hes in great shape and takes care of his body like no other ... so u guys think Father Time stops for him ... *L* ....
And I'm pretty sure BB a man who is not known for hanging on to players a second too long and a man who has showed zero sentiment to anyone who is no longer the best option to help him win football games today and tomorrow ... I'm pretty sure BB isn't all of a sudden going to change who he's always been and let JG go and keep a 40 year old QB IF he thinks JG is a franchise QB ...
Lots of variables here .... I have no clue witch way this gates gonna swing ... what i do know is that cause we need a QB a lot of folks are kidding themselves as to HOW available he actually may be ....

Brady is 40, it would be foolish of them to trade the only guy who could win games for them if Brady goes down. Brissett simply isn't ready, speaking purely as a backup, jimmy showed he is capable of filling in and that is VERY valuable when your starting QB is 40. odds are not in Brady favor at his age, it will take ALOT to get Bellichik to part with him for that reason...

Just to see what NE does. My opinion is if this deal is going to happened it was sealed when we made the trade with Houston. Each camp was sworn to secrecy. BB doesn't want any team to know he has the 12th pick so they can try and figure out his draft strategy. Everyone will find out when Goodell walks up to the mike and announces the Browns are now on the clock with the 12th pick. If its going to happen its signed and sealed already. Everything else is just smokescreens.

I've said it in other posts that JG is the Pats insurance policy if TB goes down which could happen on the next play. The Pats can win another SB with JG IMO. I don't believe with TB out and JG gone they can. I really believe the Pats are going all out for that 6th ring with the moves they are making. They don't want to jeopardize that.

I presume everybody is lying until the FA is signed or their pick is in. This is a frustrating time of year. Every team is undefeated and everybody is an expert whose mock nails it.
Drop the koolaid and ignore the froth. I hate when I get all ramped up and hopeful, but I am more so this year over last. Go, Browns!

We are talking about a QB who took the PATs to another Lombardi Trophy...ON HIS BACK. This wasn't a Payton last Championship occurrence - without Brady no way the PATS win another ring.
Father time usually give a little warning. He's playing like nobody his age ever did before...NEVER EVER.

Not only is he at least a 50% shot to stay with the Pats ... if he is traded there is a % chance that he doesn't land with the Browns. Then there is the real chance that Hue actually covets someone else ... Watson, Trubisky, Cousins, Kizer, Webb or even McCarron ! I'd like Cousins or JG equally as my first choice. We'll fiund out soon ... just not soon enough!
The more things change the more they stay the same.

Well there's always a possibility that BB thinks that Brady will play at least two more years. If so and he can get our #12 pick in the deal?
He could always draft Mtrub at #12 and have him ready for when Brady retires! lmao
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Everything else is just smokescreens. There is this. http://thebiglead.com/2017/03/16/john-cl...immy-garoppolo/John Clayton was a guest on Scott and BR on Mighty 1090 in San Diego, and they asked him about the Browns quarterback situation. “I think in the end, they have to come to some sort of Jimmy Garoppolo trade,” he said. Clayton noted that the only quarterbacks they have on their roster are Brock Osweiler, who they’re probably going to cut, along with Cody Kessler and Kevin Hogan. “That tells me, particularly with the Patriots not having a pick in Rounds 1 and 2, there’s gotta be some kind of trade coming up with Jimmy Garoppolo.” While Clayton broached the possibility of Dont’a Hightower leaving New England — since the radio spot, he’s re-signed — he noted that the Patriots have lost several players on defense and need to replenish: “They need some volume. That’s why I can’t imagine them sitting there with a quarterback who’s not gonna play next year because he’s got Tom Brady on the team, waiting to get a 3rd round compensatory pick in 2018, when he can get a good group of draft choices now.”

I really don't know if anyone is saying he is guaranteed to get traded or that it's a guarantee that he won't be. It's a discussion where people have the opportunity to discuss the logic behind trading him and the logic for keeping him. I truly don't know what's wrong w/that? It sure beats saying things like this: "Oh no! We can't trade for a backup!" Or, "Jimmy G stinks because Cassell and Hoyer stink." And btw......I hate when people wag their finger in my face. My choice is to break it off and stick it somewhere dark.
