as someone who's played/coached basketball for their entire life ... it was DEFINITELY done on purpose. You do not close out like that unless it's intentional ... the extra slide of the foot by Zaza was unnecessary and goes against the unwritten rules of basketball. (It's not only a foul, but considered dirty/dangerous).
It's comparable to going at someone's knees after the play is dead in football.
Is it an effective strategy given the cirucumstances? Yes. Is it clean? No.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

You don't think it's just him being a clutz? Its not like he hasn't hurt other players before in practice........
I still cannot decide for myself if the injury on Leonard was on purpose or not.
If you wanna watch it again:
Not sure if you all watch The Jump on ESPN. I DVR it so I can listen to it as I finish working or while making dinner, sort of a "background noise" show. It doesn't hurt that the host is nice looking. Anyway, the morning after Game 1, two longtime NBA vets said it was dirty, Steven Jackson and Kenyon Martin.
To me, it doesn't matter if we think it's dirty, if NBA players say so, that clinches it.
Amin, the other panelist on that show, said it was dirty but isn't feeling sorry for the Spurs at all because of their history. Bruce Bowen did that same move a dozen times during all of their title runs. Heck, the move is actually named after Bruce. So, it's a bit of karma if you ask me.
Celtics got first, and Lakers got second?? .... Riiiiiiiigggggged.
yeah its so obvious

How many developmental bigs have we had in the last two years? Eddy Taverez and maybe Sasha Kahn?
I was more talking about Bigs in general, birdman, bogut, sanders, tavares, we had moreland as well.. but its crazy how we haven't been able to keep any bigs this year

Celtics had the highest probability, thanks to the Nets, and the Lakers were third most likely. I think it fell right in line based on what was supposed to happen.
Also, Boston owns the Nets first rounder next year too. And it's unprotected. I get the Browns are bad, but we're not the Nets. They're future is so bleak.

Boston has got to be tired by now...and facing a well rested lebron/cavs..This could be over quickly..Key is going to be taking home court from them. They don't have a single matchup they win, and Playoff lebron has no equal...barring something crazy happening, it won't be that hard of a series..Everything they can't do, we do well. Theres nothing they can do we can't do better....TT/Love should have a field day on the boards and with no rim protection to stop lebron/kyrie...I'm going to bet each average 32+ a game. Washington would have been a much more difficult matchup for us because of their bigs and their 1/2 combo.. Boston going to need alot to go right. My biggest concerns with the cavs right now is rust, and injury

Still doesn't mean it's not rigged. The two NBA dynasties are picking 1&&2? The last decade or so of the lottery? Suspicious. What were our odds when we got Wiggins? Let's just hope that the Lakers trade the #2 pick for Paul George and some stuff and Lonzo and Lavar have to build the big baller brand in Indiana.
You may be right, the Cavs are really good, but this Celtics team will challenge for another NBA Title weather Now or Next year, the roster is young overall and with the #1 pick will only improve, and IMO Brad Stevens is the best Coach in the NBA ... If we lose to the Cavs this year I won't be happy but I know the future is bright and then I will root for the Cavs to bring another Title to Cleveland ... In the meantime GO CELTICS

My biggest dream of the draft is ball ends up in orlando or minnesota..I just want him to fall to a mid market team and see how ol dad handles it...I would anticipate some crazy good interviews

IMO, game 1 is the best chance of the celtics winning a game.
if it doesn't happen tonight, it will be a sweep. they will only play a rusty Cavs team for 1, maybe 2 quarters. they better hope they can take advantage.

That's pretty much what everyone is saying who have played basketball, even if it was just in high school. 'You have to be out of their space when they come down.'
I'm gonna have to say then it was most likely intentional.

Wouldn't be surprised if they refuse to sign with anyone else.
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

My dream is to open social media and not see any stories about this grade-A jackhole.

Yep, it's equivalent to diving into a lineman's knees after the whistle in football. Bush league.

That spin by Love deep in the paint might have been the best Ii have ever seen. Wow. LeBorn and Kyrie are the guys, but Love is more than a 3 point shooter. He is pretty tough in the paint with his back to the basket.
Kevin is a wide bodied man. It's hard to push him around.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

So much for rust. Boston doesn't look like they believe they have chance. They simply can't get enough possessions against us because they have no one that can rebound. I'd post love up the whole 3rd and by the 4th they could all rest

Well, the one thing the celtics did well in the first half was keep us from hitting 3's.
Love just put an end to that so far in the 3rd.
