Intolerance by fundamentalists is a blight on humanity and a stain on their belief systems.

Want more pit?

But, I'm sure you'll reply with something along the lines of "those were typos" or some such thing, won't you?

Same old same old with you - calling others out for what you yourself do, yet someway "excusing" yourself for doing it.

BTW Arch, since you're such a stickler for details, can you point out where it is that I suggested you "mispelled" anything? I don't think you can.

Can I point out where you suggested I misspelled something? Yeah. Can you see the bold? That's you, my friend. Notice the little at the end?

Now, if you wanna backtrack and say it was in fun, go ahead...........we all know you very well. Just, if you do it, admit it this time.

Ok, I'm just a tad bit confused... the REASON we have the first amendment is to protect religious prayer before government meetings? That seems to be mildly in conflict with what many have been saying on here lately.....

Actually, the first amendment assures that we will not have an offical Church of the USA. No one's first amendment rights were actually broken.

There should never be any problem with what type of prayer. As our government was founded on the ideas of religious freedom, you'd have figured that a Hindu prayer might have made it on the scene sometime in the first 200 years. I just find these people in the gallery behaved as I expect many Christians to behave, by shouting about the evils of others. I would love to see a flood of non Christian religions petitioning to have their prayers said before congress opens.

Tell me which of those words are mispelled Arch? It has nothing to do with spelling. You mean that you have a degree and can't see that?

Okay........have it your way. You started it, you can call it quits when you want................you know (KNOW) exactly what you meant, as does everyone else........wanna be bullheaded? I'm up for that.

And, since you incessantly say "you're the one with the degree", I'll take you up on that.

Funny, you wanna call me out on spelling and usage..........ok. I'll go with that. Since you started it, I'll be watching. (and if my daughter wasn't here right now I'd be lighting you up)

Count on it. You started, I'll finish.

My daughter is here now.......I'll have much more later.

Very simple. The problem with prayer in school is that it was always christian prayer, which was the only prayers that were used by government funded school systems. As not everyone in the country is a christian, but just about everyone pays taxes no matter their religion, so you can't have christian only prayers in school.

The congress was having a hindu prayer performed at their opening for the first time ever. I guess that would have to mean 200+ years of christian only prayer, although I do believe a group of Hopis did a prayer there once before. By all rights, any religious group could petition to have their prayers performed in front of congress, but it would appear they have to be invited. Once again, it's another case of by the people, but only for the "chosen" people.

I almost forgot. You misspelled "schoold".

By the way, your "better than thou" attitude has run it's course. Get over yourself. You can't hide behind semantics anymore, pit[ You can't change your stance in the middle of a discussion anymore pit, just cause it suits you.........

I know, I know, pretty soon you'll be telling me that if I was face to face with you I'd change my tune - you tried that already - sorry. You can bully many, and you can change your views when it works for you.........but, the bottom line is, you post your "perfection" all the time, and none of us lowly readers believe it..........and let's face it, your ego precedes you..........You call out others for things you do. You change your opinion based on who you are replying to, and in the end, you want everyone to believe that you are correct in everything you do and say. Sorry. I'll be the one to say it, but most of believe it..........you are full of it..........You are flat oiut Mr. wannabe.

Most poster just shrug you off, I won't. Have a good day. You have become the joke, and the funniest part is, you don't have a clue about that.

Here's what you posted Arch. I did not try to correct your spelling. However, you should I say we,were all joking around. You made a remark that was supposidly a crack about "me being a stoner".

My response was indicating that the way you typed that, you sort of look like a stoner too. It was a joke. But naturaly you want to take it somewhere else. I should have expected as much.

And it had nothing to do with "spelling" as you claimed in your quote. You even went on a "spelling correction rant" before I pointed out to you that you were incorrect. So now,you want to play 3rd grade games. I wonder if anyone on this board is surprised by that? Certainly not me.

The fact is,you didn't seem to have any problems poking fun at me,which is fine. But you sure as hell can't take it Arch. You want to make a huge issue when someone jokes back with you.

And it's pretty sad that you are too ashamed to do something in front of your child to someone else, that you wouldn't do in front of her face. Quite sad really. The old "do what I say,not as I do" routine.

But I can see why. You certainly wouldn't want her to grow up treating others as you do,would ya? Or why would you be ashamed to do it in front of her?

Have at it Arch. You've shown exactly what you're about here. One thing I've never been is two faced with my own child. Afraid to be myself in front of them. Take a long look in the mirror Arch. Why do things you would be embarrased for your own child to see or emmulate on a message board that permits children to read it? I guess it's okay to act that way in front of other people's children, just not your own.Sad Arch, really sad..............

Just for you, I'll spell it out..........got it? Just for you.

My daughter came out and wanted to do something..........you know, play catch.......and then I pitched to her, and then we went on a ride............quit being a know it all, please! Your ignorance is laughable.........like I would "not post if my daughter was around".......pathetic pit. Sad and pathetic.

Ashamed? Not a chance in hell. If I were you, yes, definetly I would ashamed. However, for me, unlike you, this message board is at least tertiary for me. Family, work, they all come before this board. So, when my daughter comes out and wants me to play with her, I do that. Sorry you can't see the benefit of that. Perhaps that's part of the reason you are by yourself?

Sorry, you are the sad one.....ashamed of my actions on a message board? Not hardly. Willing to give my 7 yr. old daughter time prior to posting here? Guilty.

You, pit, are the joke. "emmulate" is spelled "emulate". Your "know it all" attitude is so old, and it is obviousl You bully others into keeping their views silent, unless they agree with you. You have even told me that if I met you in person I'd change my views........that's being an internet bully right there my friend, whether you see it or not. (doesn't matter, everyone else sees it)

And now, for you to tell me to be ashamed of how I raise my kids? That's a fricken slap in the face. Don't you ever tell me how to raise my kids, and don't you ever insinuate that I am ashamed of how I post. To do so makes you look worse than I thought you could.........and I do resent you insinuating that my 7 yr. old child wanting to play was the reason I didn't post.

You couldn't even apologize enough for saying that..........and I guarandamntee you won't. Screw you pit. Dragging my family into this? Pathetic.

To tell you the truth.... I felt embarrassed for the guy.... embarassed as a Christian.... Here he was, participatating in a historic moment, for his religion, and for his country... only to have a couple Christian religious fanatics make asses of themselves.......

Do unto others, as you would have others do unto you...

Is there any question as to why there is a separation of Church and State... ?

First of all Arch, somebody would have to actually give a damn what "you think" in order for you to have much of an effect one way or another. I don't fit into that description. You must be mistaking me for someone else.

Well that's really the sad part. By and large, most Christians I know, would never think of acting this way. And from the standpoint of some who do not follow Christianity, this shines a bad light.

I don't realy feel "embrassed" for the guy,but I do kind of feel sorry for him. I heard two outbursts in the video. I don't know if it was "the same guy" both times or not. But which ever the case,i feel sorry for him/them.

Because they missed the message. They missed what Christianity is about. And it's quite sad to see such a thing associated with Christianity IMO

One of the many reasons I switched to a christian high school...

I may not agree with the Hindu religion... but I still think what those people did was wrong. I understand what they were doing and the reasons, but I still think you have to give some respect to the Hindu priest... personally I probably would have either listened quietly or just prayed my own prayer.

"Misspelled"

There are 2 esses in the word.

As per the actual topic...there should be no singular prayer to open up any governmental function. If they wish to allow a moment of silence for those who wish to seek guidance/assistance from their higher power, then so be it.

But if kids can't say a prayer or the pledge of allegiance in school.....and if players in high school can't pray on the field, then they should change it so it is this way everywhere.....
