I think we should keep him for insurance. The opinion of by some isn't great but he does have experience and is a capable #2. If we trade or release him we have Cody and KH. Do any of you feel comfortable with that scenario?

Not until we can go a season without injuring all of our rostered QBs.

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

as of now I would like to see.

Kizer, Hogan, Kessler in that order this year and Brock gone.

I think Brock is the best qb on our roster at this particular point in time.

But then again, I don't know as much about QBs as you guys.

I feel the same way. Brock has played in and won games at this level DK has not. College, TC and preseason games are not the same as an NFL game. I like DK, I feel he has all the tools to be our future QB I just pray we don't get him hurt or ruin his confidence by starting him.

I better clarify. I am not advocating starting Brock. I hate QB controversies. I'll roll w/whatever Hue says in regards to the situation.

I just don't think Brock is as bad as most are claiming.

To attempt to be fair to BO, he definitely didn't get as much time with the 1's as Cody or Kizer, iirc. I'm not knowledgeable enough to comment on how much that affected his performance when we did see him.

No, I don't.

And unlike you, I have already said [repeatedly] that I would not cry about his decision because I don't want a qb controversy.

Sashi basically just said in his presser that Brock will be gone

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

well, i never really was wanting us to cut him ... I didn't necessarily want to keep him either.

Hey Vers been a minute...yea I don't know who "us guys" are. But I was simply stating my personal, specific opinion.

I am not on enough on here anymore to know who those guys are.

at the start, when we first got him, I said Brock, Kessler, then Kizer.

I simply have moved on from that opinion..

cheers buddy...

let's go beat da bears!!!

I don't mean to be inappropriate. That guy is a warrior, if any football player ever was one.

... so that being said, we are on the phone with them right now, right?

Josh McCown - QB - Jets

Josh McCown started the Jets' preseason finale on Thursday, playing two series.

Long tabbed for starting duties, McCown was held out all summer before some reason playing the first two series tonight. Teams almost never play their starting quarterback in the preseason finale. It was an extremely baffling decision, especially in the context of 38-year-old McCown's injury history. He was promptly injured on the second series before limping back in to finish the drive. It drove home the absurdity of the Jets' decision. The Jets are running their team like a club that wants to go 0-16. Of course, that actually is the goal, but Gang Green is being particularly flagrant about it. The Jets have the potential to be the worst offense of the modern era in 2017.

I think that Bowles will be in trouble, and it will be no fault of his own. Talent wins in the NFL, and the Jets will be largely bereft of talent.
As far as Oseiller, I think that the plan may have been for him to look the part, so either they could start him, or so they could trade him. Unfortunately, he did not look the part.

I don't disagree with that.

I think that they were hoping that he would look good enough to either lock up the job, or for someone to want him enough to trade for him. Instead he didn't.

I think that the reasoning for them not exposing him in the last 2 games is that they didn't want to lower his potential value.

I think the only thing that makes sense is something happened behind the scenes with Brock. Otherwise, none of this makes much sense to me. Here's the chronology as I understand it.

Browns trade for Brock.
Browns clearly aren't interested in having him on the team.
Browns find no takers for a trade.
Brock comes to camp.
Earns praise for both his attitude and game.
Brock is clearly headed toward the season as the starter.
Sashi says "he couldn't imagine Brock not on the team".
Brock fails to seize his opportunity to start and gets beat out by Kizer.
Brock goes on trading block.
Sashi says "I shouldn't have said that".

How do we go from failing to win the starting job to no possibility of being on the team? He's clearly at a minimum the second best QB on the roster. Why not just keep him as the #2? What the hell happened? There's got to be more to this.

I don't think it's enough to lose faith but it is perplexing.

If Kizer goes down you have 0% chance to win games with Kessler and Hogan.

You have a greater than 0% chance to win games with Brock.

I just don't think we know the whole story.

I haven't lost faith. It's a process.

I didn't like most of their early moves. I really liked what they did in off-season for the most part. Thought the draft was okay. Not liking the fact the FO is meddling w/the roster.

I remember when there was just a rumor of Banner and Lombardi doing that and the same fans backing this FO threw a hissy fit. Now, they just say they think the FO is making good moves. LMAO.

I say get what we can for BO if that's what you're aiming to do, even if it's a late rounder. We either win with DK or we lose outright regardless, so it doesn't really matter about keeping BO. We aren't legitmate contenders this year. Heck, I say cut the dude if thats the ultimatum. Atleast we could see another position talent develop with his spot. Thanks for the 2nd round pick 🤘🏼

Been thinking about what I would do with Brock. He has a guaranteed contract so no way I cut him. Seems silly. However, if I could get a draft pick for him then I take it and ship him without

I like Hogan, I would keep him.

I would cut Kessler. I would sign a veteran to a league minimum contract. Would Kaepernick accept league minimum to become the Browns back-up? (if he turns that down then at least we can shut up all the league has blackballed him talk). I don't know who else is out there but I would want a smart guy like Matt Hasselbeck. Yes I know his first pet was a T-Rex but I want a guy who can help Kizer prep for the game, just using Matt as that type of player.

I don't think Brock can be that guy. I don't think he has that kind of understanding of an offense. Some of you might say that we had that guy with McCown. I would disagree. I think Josh is an awesome teammate but I don't like him ass a mentor. I think he does some things horribly wrong (ie holding the ball too long) and that those habits rub off on the young guys (See Cody Kessler).

No offense, bro............but holding the ball isn't "taught." It's about a lack of processing speed.

Kizer has it bad, just like Cody does and Josh had.

Brock gets rid of it quicker than any of them.

I get that most fans don't recognize that during games. They just see that the qb got sacked. But, it is a real thing that is very important.

I agree with your general statement, however there are other factors that may make a QB hold onto the ball longer, such as good coverage, lack of pressure or style (ex: Roethlisberger).

McCown is for sure going to have CTE and terrible joint pain the rest of his life. He's made a living taking huge hits for no reason.

No reason?

His reason is to compete on the highest level there is. It's reason enough to compete as best you can on any level.

I commend McCown for his toughness.

Most of the hits are unnecessary. So not "for no reason", that was a bad choice of language I guess. It's more like you said, he just processes info slowly. He takes more hits than the average QB.

I don't count stupidly diving into 2 defenders and fumbling at the goal line "making plays". I do admire his courage, but courage can be dangerous in the wrong person.
