Building owners will have to give permission for the chief of police to have men stationed in their buildings. If not they will have to get a entry warrant from a local Judge.

And the Police chief will also have to pick the officers he wants in those places. And the Police Chief will have to set the hours. And the Police Chief will have to decide if he wants to pay overtime for those officers.

Why doesn't the right have any ideas? Those who buy guns, sell guns, deal in guns.. aren't they the ones who might have the best ideas? Yet they are content to stay on the sidelines and wait for everybody else to throw out ideas and laws.. that's why I said what I said before, it makes the gun owning community look very cold-hearted.. people are dying, innocent people.. at a rate WAY higher than almost every other developed first world nation... and the response from the gun community is "We have laws, not much else we can do here"...
That's a valid point, but I will try to answer based on my OWN opinion. I am not any of those things, but this is just my opinion.
They are not throwing out any ideas, because there is no way to deter it. To me, that is just the sad reality. If someone wants to do something like this, that is well planned, well funded, etc., there is absolutely nothing you can do to stop it unless the person makes a mistake while planning it.
There is no gun ban, no gun law, no gun policy that will keep guns out the hands of evil people. There is no law, that will stop a bad person who truly wants to commit an atrocity from doing so. I truly believe PUNISHMENTS for said crimes will deter others after the fact, but even then sadly, it is just reality.
That doesn't mean we should not try to stop it, don't get me wrong. I am just arguing that some of the thoughts on how to are not worth the air used to speak them. And the ones yelling in outrage with no actual solutions other than a vague blanket statement too me are just trying to appease their voters.
my original comment I say stock, not butt stock. I was referring to that. that is my fault. still, the butt stock makes it easier, but to me it still sounds like the rate of fire was just too fast. but taking into account echos between buildings etc it could make the rate of fire seem faster when just hearing sounds.
No worries! I am with you that we can't assume anything at this point because we are not going to be privvy to all the details yet, and it's hard to say for sure how he fired so many rounds at that rate or if it was even that rate of speed (echos)
Actually I don't think any Judge would give the chief a warrant for that if the building owner doesn't want the event nearby.
But yeah I'm sure you'd be ok with police forcing the action to enter a building without a warrant, to secure an event 1/4 mile away that the building owner doesn't have any affiliation with and doesn't want any part of. Murica

I believe you are correct. Besides, look at the backlash they would be getting if they didn't go along with it. People like you would be shouting how they don't care about the safety of people, how they aren't willing to work with law enforcement and just how unMurican that is, while refusing to mention their right as a property owner to exercise their rights.

Vegas is all about tourism and providing security is a good thing.
You may be right but many owners just won't want these events nearby now. They'll be fighting to get them moved elsewhere. Better to move these events to a rural area nearby with no tall buildings around or have them indoors.
