Agreed.
Fracking is awesome for natural gas. Guess what? Even though, just around here a new pipeline went in for the natural gas from eastern ohio/western pa........people bitch about the pipeline, AND the fracking. Yes they do. I'm not sold on fracking myself actually. However, natural gas is plentiful and much cleaner. So at this point, I certainly consider it the lesser of the two evils by a large margin. And people bitching about the pipeline? I would certainly agree they are. But they would be doing the same if that pipeline delivered oil or anything else. Sort of like a halfway house for people leaving prison. These things sound like great ideas when you mention them to people. Until you want them to be placed in peoples back yards. Then it becomes an issue of spills, leaks, safety and property values. You really can't blame people for feeling that way.

If you buy a new car, it doesn’t matter if it’s a truck or sedan, due to regulations these cars today are more efficient and leave less of a footprint than cars 10-20 years ago. I agree 100 percent with less footprint part. However the efficient part is bull. GM's 3.8 L engine was more powerful and fuel efficient than the 4 bangers they have replaced them with. I could get more MPG with a Park Ave than I can with a Cruze. True today's cars do struggle to reach the gas-mileage heights of some 1980s models. But still we're a lot better off than we were back then. Today, most late model compact cars won't get 50 mpg hwy, but many can get better than 40 mpg hwy while still carting around a wide range of new features that would have been considered science fiction in the 1980s. Hey if a few mpg is the price for dramatically improved automotive safety, convenience and technology, so be it.

No, part of the new sanctions stopped China's purchase of NK's King Coal.

One of the best motors GM ever made imho. THE BEST IMO and the only reason they stopped making it was because of the chicken little crowd. The government cracked down and said we don't care how much more Americans have to pay or suffer, we want to keep spreading this global warming lie.

So your saying adding toys .... it's ok to waste gas I was trying to be realistic and didn't expect that response. There is a lot of other safety equipment like air bags, onstar, and beefed up bumpers that wastes gas and can save lives. I'm ok with it. Let me ask you this. How many new cars would you sell in a year if you only offered new cars that didn't come equipped with any of these items.... a radio sound system, auto trans. electric windows, and air conditioning?

Let me ask you this. How many new cars would you sell in a year if you only offered new cars that didn't come equipped with any of these items.... a radio sound system, auto trans. electric windows, and air conditioning? Not many. However cut the prices a few thousand dollars and do away with on board nav, adaptive cruise control, Voice-Activated SYNC, built in wifi, infotainment systems, USB ports, etc, etc, etc and sales would go up.

It is literally the global scientific community , vs republicans, the south, and people over the age of 50.
This time your actions destroy biodiversity on planet earth, not just American citizen rights in the 1950's and 1890's.
Big oil is raping biodiversity on planet earth, just like The United States of America enslaved and segregated people.
Oh, I'm sorry, was I not supposed to say that, or was I supposed to forget? I'm trying to figure out what a superpower stands for, forgive me.

Coal power plant closures ramp up in spite of White House plans https://finance.yahoo.com/news/coal-power-plant-closures-ramp-205900402.htmlThe Trump administration may hope that it can reverse coal power's decline by ending the Clean Power Plan and other eco-friendly efforts, but the industry's moves suggest otherwise. Luminant has announced plans to close three major coal plants in Texas (in Freestone, Milam and Titus counties) between January and February of 2018. The shutdowns will take a combined 4,200MW of power off the grid -- enough to run over 4 million homes, as Reutersnotes. The news boosts the expected capacity of 2018 power plant closures to over 13,600MW, or a whopping 79 percent more than the known closures for this year. It's not a record high (nearly 18,000MW went offline in 2015), but it's clear that the trend is toward more closures, not fewer. Luminant isn't shy about the reasons for the decisions, which will unfortunately lead to roughly 950 people losing their jobs. It blames an "oversupplied" renewable energy market, but it also points to low prices for both natural gas and wholesale electricity. These coal plants haven't been money-makers for a while, and there was nothing to suggest the market was about to turn around. These latest closures illustrate the problems the White House faces with its plans to challenge the "war on coal" (as EPA head Scott Pruitt called it) by removing Obama-era regulations and policies. The decision to scrap the Clean Power Plan may have reduced pressure to lower carbon emissions, but that doesn't matter if it's no longer financially viable to run a given coal plant regardless of its emission levels. Simply put, the recent trend suggests that coal may be on an irreversible slide, and that clean energy tech like solar is still the future. Luminant (1), (2) This article originally appeared on Engadget. _______________ this part: Luminant isn't shy about the reasons for the decisions, which will unfortunately lead to roughly 950 people losing their jobs. These coal plants haven't been money-makers for a while, and there was nothing to suggest the market was about to turn around. is he wrong, GM? or are you ready admit that the market killed off coal?

If this is the way the market takes things then so be it but at least today we are getting an honest look at energy because Trump has taken away the Regulations which showed a false narrative. King Coal no longer has its hands tied behind its back.

Here before I start posting please take this entire box of Q-tips and clean all the ear wax out of your ears. Also you might want to start wearing some glasses because you just can't hear or see when it comes to this subject bro. Are you done or do I need to wait longer????? These three major coal plants you bring up closing. All are owned by luminant who is a eco friendly company who is looking for ways to get away from coal power. Here is a little tidbite from the company "Environment HomeSocial ResponsibilityEnvironment duck150x102Over the years, Luminant has been in the forefront of environmental stewardship and innovation. Today we continue to deliver on our commitment to provide reliable and increasingly clean sources of electricity to help meet the needs of a growing population and move Texas toward an even more environmentally sound future. Our stewardship begins with maintaining an excellent compliance record that meets or outperforms all applicable federal and state environmental laws and regulations. No one has more experience than Luminant in using coal to generate electricity in an environmentally excellent way and with an exceptional track record of reducing emissions. At the same time, we are committed to technology development, renewable energy and zero-emission nuclear generation that will improve the quality of the environment for our Texas and global communities." https://www.luminant.com/social-responsibility/environment/Now your a smart guy and your honest so let me ask you this. How many millions of dollars has this company had to spend to "In their own words" " maintaining an excellent compliance record that meets or outperforms all applicable federal and state environmental laws and regulations. " Now you also said {quote]The decision to scrap the Clean Power Plan may have reduced pressure to lower carbon emissions, but that doesn't matter if it's no longer financially viable to run a given coal plant regardless of its emission levels. /[quote] Why would it be no longer be financially viable??? because the government has already forced so many regulations down the power companies throats, and driven up the cost of updating, using, and maintaining their coal powered plants. BTW you might want to read this 1,600 new coal-fired power plants are planned or under construction in 62 countries. https://wattsupwiththat.com/2017/07/03/f...ound-the-world/
