BB controlled JG, none of us know what FO did or didn't do...JMHO Swish had it right BB wasn't going to let JG go to Cleveland....who knows the hearts of man.....GO Browns!!! Then why did he trade Collins to Cleveland? Why did he give a pick to Cleveland for Mingo? Our FO blew it again. Exactly! Bill doesn't care who he has to coach against! Especially anybody on this team!

Especially anybody on this team! Payoff for Shanny losing the SB... Shanahan, who served as the Falcons' offensive coordinator in that game, recently appeared "The Rich Eisen Show" when he admitted to thinking about that game "a lot." When he was asked if there was one play in particular he regretted the most, Shanahan answered honestly. "There's no doubt," Shanahan said. "The second-and-10 that we got sacked on. I wish I had dialed something up differently." The play he's talking about occurred with roughly four minutes remaining in the game. At that point, the Falcons still held an eight-point lead with the ball. Most importantly, they were already in field-goal range at the 23-yard line. All the Falcons had to do was run some clock and kick a field goal to take a two-score advantage. If they had done that, they likely would've won the Super Bowl.

Old pal Banner chiming in..... Joe Banner Verified account @JoeBanner13 Hue must be totally fed up if he is letting Mike Silver put out that he wanted Garapollo. Tweet They traded out of Watson when Hue text Watson pre-draft..... has a coach ever quit? Would be an all-time Browns low. Even for us. Banner is going to say and throw out whatever he can to cause discourse. He is still p'od we fired his garbage arse. I highly doubt the FO left the building an hour before the trade deadline.

The trade deadline is today. Trades are still be made. Ajai just went to Philly for a 4th.
I think the deadline is at 4:00, but I am not positive about that.

If that is true, that the FO went home at 5 the day before the trade deadline and without inquiring about Garropolo e ven though the Pats were shopping him, they all need to be gone. I have supported a lot of what they have done, but that would just be lazy and incompetence. This is the first I've read this can you link to where they were actively shopping Jimmy G? I'm trying to find a link. Shefter said last night at halftime that once it was clear that NE couldn't re-sign him, they contacted SF about a trade. Not sure if they only went to SF, or if they were just the first call. I would think they would try to maximize the value by shopping around a bit, but I didn't hear anything other than they made contact with SF.

People are running with it like Hue called him right away to complain.

I don't believe that. I don't think BB consults w/his players on where they want to play. LOL Quoted for truth. I cannot believe how many posters actually think that a team would not take the absolute best deal offered to them, as a favor to the player being traded. Let alone a player who refused to sign a deal to remain on that team for a few more years. That is one of the most inane stances I've seen taken on this board, and that is saying something.

All I've seen it that it began and ended with SF. SF called yesterday morning and it progressed from there.
I've seen nothing (yet) that other teams were involved.

Sometimes common sense is the answer. Like Vers said, you're trying too hard.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I read posts on the Pats message board most seemed quite ticked they got a second from San Fran and not the Browns second plus offer, sum thought the Browns offered a first for him.

If anyone wants to believe what old pal Mike Lombardi says..... Michael Lombardi Verified account @mlombardiNFL Heard Browns made small offers for JG during this season but nothing near as good as 49ers. And they were not involved today

JG will want to get paid. His agent will want JG to get paid. The 49ers can overpay now, they can overpay before Free Agency, use the franchise tag next season, or let JG test the market. Anyway you look at it JG is going to get paid even if he stinks it up during the games he plays this year which will be written off as him being in an unfamiliar system.
49ers made a risky and stupid deal here.

49ers made a risky and stupid deal here. The other thing here that no one is talking about it. Maybe the Browns spoke with Jimmy and he said I will not sign an extension with you. So why trade for him? SF may have just traded a pick for a guy who technically right now, they only have rights to 8 games for.

It's very likely that there were multiple trade scenarios NE & BB were evaluating
some with a "guarantee" of an extension, some with other players mixed in and the deal that ultimately got done
to think that JG had zero power to influence his destination is silly (his agent could have easily floated - "no way he resigns, you'll have to franchise him" to many of the suitors)
Just because SF got a good deal doesn't mean we did or didnt a mistake

49ers made a risky and stupid deal here. a second rounder for JG is not stupid considering what type of QB you normally can get w/ a second round pick (we have one with lots of ???)

Do you have something showing what other teams were involved? Maybe you're not trying hard enough. Of course you're right. I mean the greatest HC of this generation pigeon holed himself with only discussing a trade with one team to reduce the trade value of a top asset. You're ridiculous if you believe that. Or naive. Or just standing behind a stupid idea that makes no sense. You choose. lmao

... a stupid idea that makes no sense. Break it down; it may make sense (at least to a greater extent). Teams finishing near the bottom of the 1st round probably don't need a QB. NE would not get the same value from a team finishing lower than SF, leaving the Browns as the most likely other team in the JG sweepstakes. (Could there have been other picks thrown in? Sure, but so could SF). At this point in the season, it is very speculative to predict the drafting order for 2018. I'm believing that BB doesn't think that the acquisition of JG will do much to improve SF's draft position...

But said greatest coach may have already realized what the trade value was, grabbed an offer he couldn't refuse while he had it. For all we know, the browns talked to him last week, or yesterday, or anytime before. Its still too early to really know what went down.

j/c: The #49ers will try to extend QB Jimmy Garoppolo, but an extension was not part of the deal, I’m told. Nothing is close or imminent. https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/925326463548690433Diam, wasn't it you that said there was no way a team would make a deal for JG without an extentsion already being a part pf the deal? It sounds like something I’d say ... so more than likely it was me ... Wrong again ... *L* ... not the first time, won’t be the last .... I’m a business guy ... and thats risky business .... They have a ton of cap space and not sure why any qb would not want to work with Shanny ... clearly the best offensive mind in the game .... and im not sure its even close ....
