Do you have something showing what other teams were involved? Maybe you're not trying hard enough. Of course you're right. I mean the greatest HC of this generation pigeon holed himself with only discussing a trade with one team to reduce the trade value of a top asset. You're ridiculous if you believe that. Or naive. Or just standing behind a stupid idea that makes no sense. You choose. lmao OK list all the teams that were involved in the trade process... BB got saddled into having to trade him cheaper than what he could have gotten predraft out smarted himself. He couldn't sign Jimmy G to long term and trade away his other QB smart real smart. Even the great ones make mistakes.

It's probably too soon to say this because the wound of the trade is still fresh, but right now, it wouldn't bother me at all if the FO was sent packing. Hire some football guys and keep Hue and his coaching staff. When has this worked? It might work for a year or two, but the minute the team fails the head coach is gone. It's exactly what is going to happen with Chuck Pagano in Indianapolis.

Pit, I see what your saying. But said greatest coach may have already realized what the trade value was, grabbed an offer he couldn't refuse while he had it. For all we know, the browns talked to him last week, or yesterday, or anytime before. Its still too early to really know what went down. My point is there are quite a few who are unsettled at the QB position. You're right that it's not every team, but there's more than a few. It just makes zero sense that a man as smart as BB wouldn't pit these teams against each other in trade talks to drive up the value of JG. To believe that he isolated those talks to one single team makes zero sense. It's not logical.

Well ... the bright side Vers ...
Everyone now wants the FO fired more than they do Hue ... *L* ...
THIS REALLY SUCKS!!!!
As usual .. looks like the thief has the wrong people in place .. SHOCKER ..
IF he fires anyone, although I’m starting to lean towards HOPEFULLY he gets it right this time and gets rid of the FO and not the coaching staff like he did with Chud ..

What do you think the odds are that Haslam can hire a new FO that would keep the existing HC?

Question, because I cannot read eight pages to see if it was mentioned..... did Garoppolo sign an extension with this trade, or is he still a Free Agent after this season??

If the reports are true and Hue was sending emails about the front office to reporters, then no GM in his right mind is going to want to work with a guy like that.

If you replace the FO the new guys will hire their own coach and Hue would be gone anyway.

If these guys didn’t call BB on Monday ... i have no probs finding out though ... *L* .. I’m a business guy Pit ... u do your due diligence .. that includes FOLLOWING UP and with JG not singing an extension with NE and the trade deadline a day and a half away ... U pick up the phone and make that call ... If they didn’t do that I would now lean towards letting them go ...

As much as it pains me to say it, I'm at the point where I just don't care anymore. I don't trust this FO to draft a QB.

I say “could’ve been,” because that will forever remain a hypothetical. More than one team I spoke with that was in the market for a quarterback in the spring was under the impression that the Patriots weren’t moving Garoppolo.

While it's possible, that certainly isn't standard operating procedure. The odds are heavily in favor that a new FO will want "their guy".

And theres a lot of revisionist history going on with Wentz and Watson .. your not one of them .. but theres a ton of that going on ... If they didn’t even reach out to BB .. thats an entirely different level of incompetence in my world ...

Get over it. Jimmy G was never going to be traded to the Browns.

Hue talking through Mike Silver is a punk ass move to point blame at the Front office. looks like here we go again. Chud vs Lombardi, Pet vs. Farmer and now Hue vs Sashi.

j/c: This makes sense as to why SF made the deal for Jimmy G. Sure, the 49ers could (and might) sign him to a lucrative contract extension now or in the near future. It would be a bit of a gamble since Garoppolo has yet to play a snap for them, but it would give them some cost certainty and keep him from becoming a free agent in March. Barring that, the Niners are set to have more than $90 million in cap space in the offseason (after they roll over what's left on this year's cap) -- money they could put toward an extension or, if they wanted to take a longer look at Garoppolo, a franchise tag.
Simply put, by making the trade instead of trying to pursue Garoppolo as a free agent, the 49ers have assured themselves some level of control over a player who might just be the answer at quarterback while also leaving themselves open to a world of possibilities.
The loss of their second-round choice is nothing to sneeze at, especially since the Niners are 0-8 and there's a good chance that it will be a pick that lands high in the round. But the 49ers still have their first-round pick, the Saints' second-rounder and two third-rounders.
That is all valuable draft capital that can be used to help build around Garoppolo and get some much-needed playmakers capable of making his life easier. Better yet, they could spin their top pick to a quarterback-needy team to stockpile even more valuable picks for the future.
Acquiring Garoppolo also begs the question of what happened to the Kirk Cousins plan? While Shanahan has more familiarity with Cousins and Cousins has proved more in the league than Garoppolo, there are many reasons why Shanahan could have made this move. For one, there's no guarantee Cousins would be available as Washington could still use the franchise tag on him again.
If Cousins hits the market, his cost is expected to far exceed what Garoppolo is likely to earn. Even if the 49ers figure to have a ton of cap space in the offseason, there's still a limit to what would be considered fiscally responsible to sign Cousins. The trade deadline is today. Trades are still be made. Ajai just went to Philly for a 4th.
I think the deadline is at 4:00, but I am not positive about that. 4:00? The FO has time to go for a long lunch, then.

The FO hasn't exactly produced much talent for Hue. They've traded away more potential talent in draft picks then any other team in the NFL and got little or nothing in return. Someone in the FO blew the last 2 drafts bigly and need to answer for it. JG is nothing to us. He wasn't coming here because BB wasn't going to stick it to him and send him here.

What do you think the odds are that Haslam can hire a new FO that would keep the existing HC? With a competent franchise, the answer to this question is zero percent. It would not be wise to hamstring their new GM like this. Or, you limit your candidate pool to only GMs that will stick with Hue. However, with Haslam at the helm, I expect buffoonery. I think this whole thing is going to get blown up. It's going to be a long march to the end of this season.

Here's a quick thought: If hue is really sold on Kizer being the future, why isn't he strongly denying the 'Hue wanted Garoppolo' story? This is pretty telling, especially since it's the bye week and the team is probably off today.

Pancakes and waffles? That's a lot of starch! You should pick one or the other and never have them as a combination!

Ok here is my question on the Garoppolo trade, it's not about whether he is good or bad or in between. All I have heard on many media outlets especially on WKNR from our Denver joke of a broadcaster (Sorry I hate listening to Him he hates the Buckeyes and he doesn't hide his Bronco fandom), anyways, they are saying BB was good to JG by not sending him to the Browns dysfunctional organization and sending him to a more stable organization and a quality HC like Shannahan in San Francisco. Now, SF is as unorganized as we are, they have a FO and a HC who have produced a 2-22 record? Now if they are so great and we are so bad why isn't showing in the win loss record? Come on people their FO hasn't produced anymore than we have and their HC is as bad as Hue, You are what your record say's you are aren't you? Vent done!
John 3:16 Jesus said "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

IF...Hue bails on his own accord, which I've always said would happen, then blow it ALL up because at that point NOBODY would come here. You think it'd be bad now! Keep the FO and do a coach search. Nobody would apply.

Both the front office and coaching staff is most likely gone.
Shame on me for thinking that we could make it two years without blowing everything up.
Fire the FO for the banker's hours.
Fire the coaches for emailing every reporter in the country what they should be secretly emailing to the owner.
