it also sucked reading how fans treated him and his family in public. Yeah that was disappointing to read. There's a jackass in every crowd, though. If he returns and stays clean, he deserves respect, he actually deserves some respect for his honesty in that article.

it also sucked reading how fans treated him and his family in public. I hope some people reading that take a long, hard look at themselves. I felt sick seeing it. I knew it was bad based on the comments I continuously see on his social media feeds, but knowing it extends to damaging his property, abusing his mother and brother, and assaulting Josh on the streets is disgraceful. Those aren't Browns fans. Real Browns fans would never treat one of our players, or his family, like that. A real Browns fan would never want that perception of This is what it's like to play for the Browns to be something real. Personally, I hope the Browns quickly respond to that, vowing to revoke season tickets for anyone found to be involved in such behaviour. We don't want fans like that: For both the organization and the city of Cleveland itself.

I agree w/you. I know I would never dog a player or his family.
On the other hand, I am not a fan of fans who trash posters for excusing every negative thing a player does and transferring the blame to the fans who are not happy w/his behavior.
If it isn't okay to trash a player, it shouldn't be okay to attack a fan just because he/she has a difference of opinion. We have way more fans around here who attack posters who don't agree w/the majority than we have fans going out in public and attacking Gordon and his family.

Oh, okay.
He is starting to try and start another fight.
For the record, to the best of my knowledge, I have never once had a personal exchange w/Josh Gordon or any member of his family.
Also, in regards to the posts that have been deleted, I am not on meth and I stand by my comments that I think a lot of posters attack others who do not share the majority opinion on here and that it happens on a consistent basis!
I also maintain that it is wrong for people to attack players and their families in public. There is no place for that.
I will also add that I do not view Josh Gordon as a victim. I think he has abused his status as a star athlete for years. I also think the hostile abuse by so many posters against those of us who doubted Gordon's sobriety is unfair and abusive.
I will now leave this thread and let the "righteous" have it back. LOL

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/201...bly-every-game/Josh Gordon admits using drugs or alcohol “probably every game” Josh Gordon, who rejoins the Browns on Tuesday, admitted drugs and alcohol were part of his pregame “ritual.” In an interview with GQ magazine, the wide receiver said he played under the influence “every game,” including college. “I used to make a ritual of it before every game,” Gordon told GQ, via Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. “If I had already been drug tested that week, or the day before the game, I knew I had a couple days to buy to clean my system. Even before I was getting tested for alcohol, prior to my DWI in 2014, I would take the biggest bong rip I could. And try to conceal all the smell off all my clothes. I’d be dressed up to go to the game. A bunch of guys smoke weed before the game, but we’re not talking about them.” “I would have these little pre-made shots. I used to love Grand Marnier. I could drink it down smooth. I could usually drink a lot of it. But if it wasn’t that, it might be a whiskey or something. And I would drink probably like half a glass, or a couple shots to try and warm my system up, basically. To get the motor running. That’s what I would do for games.” Gordon said it happened “every game. Probably every game of my career,” including his time at Baylor. He said he was a “highly functioning” alcoholic. “We would stay at the team hotel and then players are allowed to go back home, get what they need, and then go to the game,” Gordon said of Browns home games. “So I’d leave the hotel early morning, go home, eat breakfast, do my little ritual, whatever it may be, some weed, some alcohol, and then go to the game. And then, I’d definitely be partying after every game, win or lose. Every game.” I just read this today. BEFORE every game?!? Wow... He was worse than I thought.

I hope his confession is good for his soul as the cliche goes.
I am shocked reading this as to how prevalent and how much it was involved. Hope he has some more fight left in him. I am eager to watch some good with my own eyes.

I think it was moronic to state this on the public record.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Man... I want to say welcome back so bad, but I've been burned by his stupidity a few too many times. I think through only good play, off field behaving and him embracing the opportunity is the only way I'll come around. Nice to see the video though. It's time Josh, don't screw it up.

One has nothing to do with the other.
But, Gordon can help us win games. Heck, he may be the guy to save Hue's neck.
To be clear....even though I think Hue is a bad head coach, I see no point in releasing him at this point. Let the season play out. Let's see how it goes the rest of the way.
We face a team on a short week and we have been rested and had 2 weeks to come up with a plan. My thinking is we can win this game. Let's see how it goes. Maybe it's the start of good things. Maybe we see the same bizarre decisions and look totally lost. We will know on Sunday around 4PM.

I wish Josh the best - not just for his sake - but for the Browns sake and ours also. But I have to say, after reading that latest article about him smoking dope and drinking before games, that I do not have a good feeling that this will end well. Hoping I'm wrong.

I heard on the radio this afternoon what people were doing to his family and property. I don't remember his name, but we had a decent CB a few years back that left because he was getting death threats for having some bad games even though he was offered more money.
Braylon Edwards said that people would harass his parents when they would go out to eat.
This kinda stuff isn't cool, criticism needs to be VERBAL ONLY, DIRECTED AT THE PLAYER ONLY.
Hope Josh doesn't go lights out only to leave when we need him most.

Did you hear a few seasons ago when JJ watt was talking about some crazy fan how rolled up in their neighborhood just to talk trash?
Some fans are absolutely out of control.

Some fans are absolutely out of control. It don't get much dumber than that. Walk up on a guy that big that can get THAT CRAZY. Write your own obituary and email it to the local paper before doing something like that.

Fake news.
Nobody is ignoring it. Stop spreading false narratives.
what Josh Gordon did does not justify harassment of family members and destruction of property.

Cause it's (hopefully) old news and we've hashed and rehashed it a thousand times and now we get to talk about what he MIGHT be able to do for the team. But y'know, if he was that good high and drunk, can't wait to see what he can do sober!

Cause it's (hopefully) old news and we've hashed and rehashed it a thousand times and now we get to talk about what he MIGHT be able to do for the team. That is false. Some of us had a clue and spoke about it, but the vast majority of posters defended JG and said the NFL was picking on him and saying stuff like......."hit a woman and keep playing and take one hit off of a joint and get suspended." I did a lot of research on the topic and NFL players who have retired said you gotta be a complete fool and have terrible drug issues to get caught. They said it was easy to beat the system and that the NFL doesn't really want to suspend any of these guys, but they have put the drug policy in place to appease a significant part of the fan base. Let me guess, guys? Once again I am clueless? LOL

I guess. Maybe he will be like Tom Landry. We'll see. Note I don't say he is a bad coach. He is a good coach. Norv Turner was a good coach....Buddy Ryan was a good coach....heck, Pat Shurmer is a good coach.....they just weren't good head coaches. Lot's of good coaches turned out to be bad head coaches. It's the nature of the game. Good head coaches don't get fired very often. New head coaches usually take over bad teams.

But, Gordon can help us win games. Heck, he may be the guy to save Hue's neck. Potential truth. I do think if Kizer hits on a few big chunk yardage plays, his confidence is going to sky rocket and his play follows. This makes Hue's downfield attack offense look good IMO. This opens the runs game. Corey being added, even though he's not shown a lot - his speed cannot go unaccounted for either. Offense goes from sluggish to, again potentially, clicking on all eight cylinders. I see Crow starting to get crazy.

I better clarify this. I think some people mistake what I mean. And I understand why they do.
When I say "lack of talent," I am not saying we don't have talented players. I am making a generic comment about how "talented" we are at this particular point in time.
Part of that is due to our youth. Inexperienced players at so many positions is tough to overcome. Some of these guys will become talented players, but they aren't right now.
We do have quite a few untalented players that will never make it, but again, some of our players will become talented are just not very good NFL players right now.
Furthermore, we are hurting at key positions. QB, WR, TE, CB, FS, and maybe even SS. Considering this is a passing league, that is pretty tough to overcome.
Guys like Njoku, Peppers, Kize, Coleman, etc might get better, but they are playing horribly right now.
That is not on the coach, peen.
