Any bets on how many games Gordon plays until he relapses? He hasn't played the first one yet!

First game back, 4 catches for 85 yards.
With any decent qb, he would’ve gone for 120 and 2 TDs

Dude is a physical freak. Not sure if people who never played football can appreciate how amazing it is that this dude has missed that much time and was still able to hold up physically [and excel] in his first game back.
Freaking incredible.

If he could of gotten himself clean when he was younger and played with a real QB I think Gordon could have put himself in the Hall of Fame.

Freaking incredible. He looked great. Sadly that boned us. Hue got so excited this week in practice he ignored the logical game plan of running it down their throat. I'm sorry to say this, but Hue may be stupid.

I'm sorry to say this, but Hue may be stupid. the problem with your post is that Hue's gameplan had WR's running wild. we also averaged 4 yards a carry between Crow and Kizer. But no gameplan is gonna work when your QB is throwing less than 50% because he's missing said WR's running wild.

Yeah... Going into the game with an air attack was the right way to go with an inexperienced, inaccurate QB against a top rated secondary. I can totally see how you see this as Kizer's fault.

I can totally see how you see this as Kizer's fault. yes, i blame the QB for not being accurate enough to hit wide open WR's. you don't need to be experienced to hit open targets. that's about as straightforward as one can get. Hell, even Weeden was able to go out there and essentially play catch with Gordon that year he went off for 1600 yards.

Simple question: who put him in that position?

Simple question: who put him in that position? Kizer can't execute simple NFL plays. 3 step drop, 8 yard completion to a wide open WR who's CB is playing soft coverage. Sails over the WR's head. Simple? Not for Kizer. Quick slant? Throw it at the WR's feet. The lack of being able to execute simple plays consistently puts the team in a bind. It's maddening. Can't build any rhythm or momentum. He makes the occasional splash play. But it's too few and far between all the bad stuff.

It has to be tough for 21 yr old Kizer, so young, so inexperienced, yet clearly the best QB on the Browns roster.
...there is no help from an experienced QB.
Kizer reminds me of Goff last season...Kizer's head is having trouble processing information on the field fast enough to catch up to the speed of the game.
For the fans, the OJT is painful to watch because we see missed opportunities when we see the "re-plays" in slow motion.
...no doubt, after the 2016 season, some Rams fans thought Goff would be better suited doing something other than being a NFL QB.

This is one of the few games I don't really question Hue's playcalling. Hue tried to run, but it seemed like we ended up in a lot of 2nd and 12s. Once there, we were in passing situations. Plays were there on the pass calls, we just didn't hit enough of them. I'll have to look at the film, but I'm guessing Kizer was feeling the pass rush, so he wasn't finishing his throws with confidence. Unfamiliarity with Gordon could play in also, causing him to think too much. As a result, they were sailing on him.

This may not be fair, but that doesn't mean it is wrong. Kizer played poorly despite my trusting Hue. Adding Gordon changed very little. Hue has dumped a bunch of time and practice into Kizer who still hurts us a bunch with missed throws, indecision, strip sacks and part of that is a lack of protection.
The amount of time, reps, practice to get him to the level he is playing at has to hurt some of the team. Add to it no vet to help him and give background support, and it is a lock. I have started to follow the Texans closely.

To be fair to Hue it's not like we have some great alternative to Kizer atm ...

...start Hogan?
imo, getting rid of McCown was a huge mistake by the front office. Once McCown was terminated..the only attempt to fix the problem trading for Osweiler...who did not make the roster.

This is one of the few games I don't really question Hue's playcalling. Oh, I did. But at the same time there were also some really good play calls. For example, I think there was a 3rd and short early in the game that ended up going to DeValve. It was the perfect call, IMO, and excuted well. However, handing off the ball to Duke Johnson, up the middle, on 4th and 1 was idiotic. If you were going to run it, a QB sneak or something to Crowell would have been given us a better chance that your smallest RB. Duke has performed well in between the tackles this season, but when you know what's coming, calling Duke's number made zero sense to me. However, cfrs stated, after being at the game, that tons of wideouts are open. So I have to assume much of the issues in moving the ball equally lie with Kizer just as much as people have criticized play calling.

Unfamiliarity with Gordon could play in also, causing him to think too much. As a result, they were sailing on him. It's not his play calling per se that I'm questioning, Grimm. It's overall strategy. It's week-to-week game planning, and it's in game decision making I'm wondering about. You are clearly looking at this with reason, and I appreciate that. And I don't want to seem unfair or knee jerk Hue out of here. But I do have to say, I was angry most of the game (contrary to the past two weeks where I enjoyed the games and saw hints of progress). There were things I liked (Njoku, Gordon, Duke's effort...) and there were some pretty throws and decent movement of the ball at times. But overall, the game pi$$ed me off and it was a combination of Kizer's poor play and Hue's need to sling the ball in spite of every factor (inexperienced, inaccurate QB, porous run D, questionable receivers, rookie TE, excellent running last week, etc.) telling him to shorten his game and pound the rock. (Watching them march up and down the field on our D didn't help either. It would have been a blowout if Rivers was a better QB). JMHO

I thought the catch Gordon made on the deep sideline throw was awesome. He high pointed the ball and secured it w/just his hands while it was getting swatted by the corner. Incredible hand strength.
The guy amazed me. Not sure how he can not play for 3 years and still perform as well as he did in his first game back. You would think that taking those hits would have been more than he could handle.
He's an athletic freak of nature.

He did. He looked great. And that was an amazing grab and show of hand strength. He even almost made couple impossible catches off terrible throws. Man, I hope he stays sober.

He couldn't run Hue's offense last year - no one could - so I doubt he could run it this year. The common denominator is Hue and an anemic offense.

I'm surprising myself here.. I'm going to wonder if Kizer CAN be accurate, he young, he doesn't have the benefit of a veteran like McCown to nurture him, the game is still too fast for him and he's missing a LT thats going to be a first ballot HoFer.
We NEED to get an experienced FA QB the second FA starts up. I'm thinking when the game slows down, and Kizer can relax, have some weapons, a full training camp with those weapons that his confidence then his accuracy goes up.
