Probably not. He'd have been fired in two years whether he went to NY or Cleveland.

If u want to critique in a 2 year bubble your correct .. If you expand your glimpse to the years since the thief took over for both franchises it paints a way different picture ...

Or maybe he was oversold to the Browns, just like Holmgren,or Savage...

Maybe this was the only place he could get a job....

Or maybe the FO and owner blew up the roster and informed the media and fan base that it was a multi-year plan and that 2018 was the targeted year to start having a competitive team.

I'd be upset if they fired Hue without ever giving him a QB. I mean he has put up a good front about it all but you know he must be seething with the way they refuse to go after any real QB worth a darn and then expect miracles from him.

In the end, it is probably best to keep all in place and not fire anybody until we see 5-6-7 games next year.

Yep, and the Giants were built to win now. They have spent a ton of money on FA the past couple of years. They even went 11 and 5 last year after really spending a lot on their D.

There have been all kinds of reports of friction between McAdoo and the players. The team's effort has been terrible.

All of that is nothing like what is going on w/Hue and the Browns. I am actually amazed that he has been able to keep the players playing so hard despite their record over the course of 2 seasons.

I don't know what the full year would do if we are 1-7 or something like that, but I know you can argue what good would releasing some early do? I agree, I don't know of many, or any interim head coaches who really made some sort of impact.

Hue wants more control over player selection. I tell him to pick his QB. He gets anybody he wants with that 1st pick. I'd like to get him signed even before we pick him if that is possible.

I then use 4 of those first 5 picks on players who can support that qb. The LT out of ND might be the guy I would select next.

We then toss a bone to Williams and have him give us the 2 names in FA he would want, then we throw everything we possibly can to make it happen.

I just hope we keep it together provided the FO and the coaching staff can work together.

We have a lot of bright spots:

--A ton of draft picks.

--A ton of money to spend in free agency.

--Young players who will have another year of experience.

--Players playing in the same scheme for multiple years [for once.]

Patience!

I agree and I think this is what’s gonna happen. The only moves to the FO would be adding a football voice, but I don’t think anyone will lose their jobs.

This next season according to the plan should see an increase in FA spending to bring in that last player or two to fill a key spot or two.

I think its a big unnecessary risk... You don't have to be an Harvard boy to see this...

Most probably we will bring the football voice and some players, but must probably we will still end up losing the major part of our games.

Now picture the Browns 0-4 next season, and nothing has been done.... The project will implode...

Just fire Hue, bring a new HC, and you buy this project 1 more season....

Time for Hue to take the fall, if he wants to save this project... You could say the same thing to Sachi... but I think he is far more important to this project than Hue.

Yeah, Hue is not going to get another year unfortunately. You can't keep a coach who goes 1-27. You simply can't. And they won't.

While I don't think like that, I honestly don't see what you get on Hue, the point is that something has to be done, if not an incredible amount of pressure is going to be placed on the first 4-6 games of the next season.

I honestly don't see this regime surviving a 0-4 / 1-5 start of the next season.

So there is a very serious risk that not only this two seasons were a waste, but that next season will be a waste too...

Either Hue or Sachi have to step down to give some room for the project. Dumbest thing would be not doing something and hoping things will turn out differently.

THAT'S WHY THEY FIRED THE GOOFY COACH. We need to fire our goofy coach!! Hue wouldn't have lasted one year in NY! He doesn't know how to win. If we somehow keep this guy, we are screwed big time. Maybe when we are 1-7 next year Jimmy will get a clue!!! But that's just a waste of time waiting that long. No other team in the NFL will want this guy as head coach. The sports media over hyped this guy all along. He is the worst coach in NFL history and anybody who wants to keep him will learn the hard way.

Your record is scratched. It keeps repeating the same thing.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

It's not hard to figure out that Hue isn't going to be here next year. I'll admit there is a very very slim chance that he stays. And I can't believe there are fans who would actually want a coach who went 0-16. That's blasphemy.

I can't believe there are fans who would actually want a front office who put a 0-16 team together.

Neither Hue or the F.O. have clean hands in this mess.Imo the stench of poo coming out of Berea on both sides is starting to become unbearable.

I get the feeling McAdoo wanted out. Surely, he had to know that benching Eli Manning would infuriate the fan base.

Then again, I feel somewhat bad for him. Eli isn't the same guy he was. He's done. He's not amongst the best quarterbacks in the NFL anymore. It felt more like the Giants just wanted to rip the Band-Aid off before adding Mayfield/Rosen/Darnold in the 2018 draft.

One thing I absolutely agree with - his hair alone is fireable. When you're squandering the riches of NFL coaching on your weekly hair gel budget, the first step becomes admitting to the problem.

Marvin Lewis gets fired for not hitting the playoffs again.

Lewis is brought in to be our HC and Hue is demoted to OC.

Both of them bring over AJ for QB comp.

and draft Rosen #1 overall.

there fixed it.

I want Hue to continue to coach this team .... but I could see the Bengals trading with the Browns to get Hue, with Lewis being bumped upstairs.

If Jimmy Haslam was not the owner of the team, we would be a very attractive spot for a coach to land. We have a bajillion picks, tons of cap space, several very talented young players, and a front office that could probably be pushed aside very easily.

Alas, Jimmy Haslam is our owner. We will probably fire Hue Jackson and end up with Jeff Fisher.

I know your being sarcastic but Jeff Fisher at 178–171–1 (.510) is better than anything we've had in the last few decades. tongue
