Where's the money to fix that problem? Oh, no where. It's up to Napoleon to fix this real issue. I get it. It's their problem.

But why spend gov't. money on things I mentioned in my last post, that do nothing, and ignore REAL issues?

Messed up.
I wish I had an answer for you.

So, with the town not able to withhold the tax dollars due to the county saying "we aren't going to redraw the lines", the town wasn't down.

Nope.

Next thing that happened is the town decides "hey, we want to re do the fire department" (necessary background here: The town, and the township have paid for the fire department buildings, equipment, training, payroll - everything - since forever. Never a problem)

The town paid for the buildings, and payroll, the township paid for the equipment and maintenance.

It simply worked.

But, the town, after spending all the money to "fix" an intersection in town, then wanting to change a county road to a state highway, and being told no (and spending upwards of another million dollars that, as it turns out, will be wasted money) got pissy.

The town said "Well, we're just going to start our own fire department. We'll give you $700,000 for all the equipment." (it was a "that'll show you, you dumb township trustees. We're going to back out of the deal we've had forever, and get our own fire department" kind of thing.)

Sell us the equipment for $700,000, or we'll go buy our own stuff.

Township said "no. We pay for fire protection too."

Town said "Tough, sell us the equipment, or we're going to buy our own."

(all of this, this part, is because the town felt the town citizens paid too much for fire protection. They kept throwing around the "we pay $250,000 for fire protection"...........just idiotic stuff. They couldn't even explain it.

So, the township says "go ahead, buy your own equipment." Oh, but it would cost well over 4 times what the towns offer was to buy the existing equipment.

All of this money spent, buying buildings, re doing intersections, trying to force a s.r. move, paying for studies to find out what was necessary to change a c.r. to a s.r..................the fighting about fire equipment and who pays what.

All that money spent, to get trucks out of downtown.

Wanna know why I don't toe any gov't. line? They think they have unlimited power, and unlimited resources. Most of the time, though, they have unlimited idiocy. Lack of planning, and too damn good of benefits. They don't give a rip.

I actually worked on a lot of projects that came out of that.. and it wasn't as much an infrastructure bill as it was an economic stimulus bill to help get the economy moving after the recession.. It just so happened that a fair number of the projects were infrastructure related.
Im not saying nothing was done, I am saying that the vast majority of that "stimulus" went to unions heads pockets, and donors companies. it was by far a fair shake for the rest of the country.

You mean like how the new tax cut will greatly enrich GOP donors and backers?

At least be fair enough to admit that it works both ways. I mean I thought Paul Ryan was going to have an orgasm as he slammed that hammer down. lol

Yes, that pesky stimulus that kept the country from going the way of Greece. Good ole GW is who you can thank for that. I'm beginning to think you are a chronic pot smoker with your short term memory loss.

Great, calling for infrastructure plan now. A bit late to the game prez. What could possibly be next? Calling for a gun control plan after the next mass shooting. tongue

I don't know why they would be Peen. But it seems those for it were against it when Obama was president and now that Trump wants to do it, they're suddenly for it.

Those who were for it when Obama was president now seem to be against it.

Politics makes people do crazy things.
