With the changes made to the Bill last week almost everybody should save a few bucks, or at least come close to breaking even from the old tax laws. Those who it may still hurt are the ones with low income who want to keep their health insurance but who will no longer get a kickback from the government to help them afford it.
Before they made the changes I was looking at a HUGE increase in my taxes, now I have not figured it exactly but I think it's only about a $40.00 increase for me. Thanks GM. Do the detractors have anything to say about the final bill? Honest question.

The ones who pay more than 10K a year in property taxes, state taxes, local and school district taxes or sales taxes will still lose out on their deductions. Those who owe more than 750,000 on a mortgage won't be happy. Also many people are not happy that The majority of individual income tax changes would be temporary, expiring on December 31, 2025. If the tax rates go back up then most people will be paying a lot more in taxes then than they do right now.

2/3 of the country opposes this bill.
So obviously the GOP is in full support of it.

After re figuring my taxes with the new plan I will pay $274 more for 2017. Which is NOT what I call a tax cut. The difference for us is in the 8,100 in person exemptions that we will lose.

I figured our taxes will go up about 10%, probably a bit more. Just got a 5% raise, oh boy gone already. Thanks GOP. Trickle down has never worked and the fact that the GOP is lying through their teeth saying it will ...... deplorable, but predictable.

Biggest issues with the tax plan is that the cuts for middle and lower class are temporary will expire in 2027. Rates will creep up after a few years on most working class.
MOST IMPORTANT: GOP intends to make cuts to social security, medicaid, medicare, SS disability, military retirement/disability, food stamps, and other "entitlement benefits" to help offset tax cuts! Reverse Robinhood Politics.

Even then there may still be a big add to the deficit.

BTW I said when Trump was elected that his admin would be the biggest heist in American history, I think this tax bill is going to accomplish that. This is a huge transfer of wealth to the top, HUGE!

When you start seeing your tax bill increased and higher healthcare premiums hit you, you can thank your middle class GOP friends who will be actually enjoying getting hit with the very same increases.

Reverse Robinhood Politics. I hate when they refer to SS and medicare as entitlement. It isn't entitelment, we paid into it for YEARS. If I could have just kept the SS money and invested it myself I'd be a whole lot better off. I don't expect to see anything from SS so it infuriates me when I pay 15.3% of my income to something I'll likely never get. At least it is capped at 127k. As for the tax changes, running it as straight pass through income (I haven't read the business aspect of it yet) I will pay somewhere between 250 more or get a 1k break depending on what calculator I've used. I changed to an S-Corp this year too, which is going to save me a good chunk of change.

Because only one is pushing trickle down. Perfect example. You're still playing sides when we're all on the side of getting screwed by our politicians, regardless of party. Divide and conquer is still a viable tactic.

Actually the GOP has already figured in (collectively) a 25%-30%, SS medicare/medicaid, plan parenthood, welfare and other entitlement cut estimate to keep this bill from adding more than 1.5 trillion to the deficit so they wouldn't need a super majority in today's vote. GOP>>>Lie, bait, switch. Legislation on speculation = crash landing.

Divide and conquer is still a viable tactic. thats fine, but right now one party is in full control, pushing trickle down. i do not support trickle down. as such, there's no reason to blame "both sides" when only one side is pushing a policy i'm 100% against.

I can read and do math. By my estimates and calculations my tax bill will be reduced by about $2000 anually which is about a 30% reduction. Now if you guys are so well off that you are going to poo poo on a $2000 reduction out of principle, well I don’t know what to say.
I do know that this reduction is better then the $2500 in premiUm reductions Barry said most everyone woukd see. I mean hell my awesome ore ACA coverage was only $3000 for a family of 4. Reducing it to $500 a year.....heck yea....idiot

Struggling Americans: Does this mean you'll be open to raising the minimum wage?

I find it funny the left complains about the tax cuts NOT BEING ENOUGH yet, they are the party consistently wanting to raise taxes. I find it funny that for the last year we heard how this was GOING TO RAISE TAXES on everyone, yet now the left is simply saying "well the tax cut isn't going to be 'much' or we are getting 'less' of a tax break than the corporations. So it went from a flat out lie from the left, to now them pivoting and trying to spin it as class warfare. Typical.

It’s funny that you keep whining about the left when there is a ton of conservatives who dislike this bill as well.
The majority of the country dislikes his bill. But keep thinking it’s only a left problem.

But keep thinking it’s only a left problem. we will see how that shakes out once the majority of the country sees all that extra money in their paycheck. maybe if the left and MSM were not posting FALSE information left and right against it, we could actually get a fair shake to see what it would do and how it would implement. However when the minority leader is getting 4 pinnochios based on her comments, and they state the majority of americans taxes are going up, to just say later "well, they are not gonna go up, they just aint getting AS BIG of a break". lol. its rather funny.

I am willing to bet that 1/3 of the country does not even know there is a tax bill being by voted on because we are that disconnected from reality. So now we are down to 66% of the country paying attention and you claim that +51% of the country opposes the bill saying on 15% approve and 33% don’t kniw it exists? Lay off the Huff and Wa Post

You and Willit must be the same posters, because you can’t stop making false statements.
The tax bill is not popular amongst the majority.
“I’m willing to bet” means jack crap homeboy. I’ll take the numbers from multiple sources over whatever nonsense math you’re coming up with.

It didn’t work under Bush.
But somehow, it will work under trump. Yea ok.

You and Willit must be the same posters If we were the same, it would be "the same poster" not "posters". But if you are going to imply I or anyone else is breaking rules by masking ourselves, please have proof. ohhh that's right, the left only deals in accusations. No worries, the refs have ways to know if that is true or false. Seeing how we are still posting, you got your answer. The tax bill is not popular amongst the majority.
Does that matter right now? All that matters is what happens when people see the money going into their checks. Which is going to happen. Even the dems do not refute that now, they are parlaying it as "not as big as a cut" lol. They are deathly afraid of people getting their own money. FYI - J/C - I keep hearing them say its a scam, heist, etc. Do these idiots realize that taxes IN GENERAL are a scam and theft.
