Cooks was gonna be good, especially with brees tossing the rock.

But I don't blame them for making that trade. They needed defense.

There are a bunch of other teams that should have tried to get into the mix though.

Kessler doesn't have an NFL arm. Bill wouldn't even bother with him.

I don't think BB needs a QB with a great arm.

If you combine Bill's game planning with Kessler's efficiency, I think you can win football games.

I don't think Bill would suddenly make at run at Kessler either, but I could see Bill as the coach that could turn Kessler into a solid back-up.

I think in New England, BB is in charge of everything from hot dog sales to scouting reports.

Everyone else is there just to do what Bill tells them to do.

I disagree. I think BB oversees things, but I think he trusts McDaniels because offense is not his forte.

I think he is involved, but I think it is my boy's offense.

Oh, my boy is Josh McDaniels. I used to be friends w/his dad.

I like Josh and think he might get another HC job this year.

This offense has evolved over the years, but it's same Erhardt-Perkins they've been running since Charlie Weis. I don't have any doubts that Bill trusts Josh enough to hand him the keys, but Bill knows that offense inside out. He may have made his name as a defensive coach, but he has also been an offensive coach.

Of course. But he was a 21 year old development rookie who got thrown in to the worst imaginable situation and, inevitably, made mistakes.

They all do. We're acting like it's not uncommon for a rookie to constantly do things that make us want to rip our hair out.

That does not mean give up on them, cut them, trade them. We survived the worst. Now is supposed to be the time to see where the roof on development goes.

I don't understand the fascination of casting off young players rather than continuing their development. Why are we do hell bent on forcing them in to situations where they struggle, but handing other teams the developed product?

I guess that's why Craig Robertson, Tashaun Gipson and Taylor Gabriel are playing next weekend while we've already forgotten the 0-16 parade. They were too young and inconsistent for us. We only got their struggle, someone else got their ceiling.

Meh. It is what it is. Hand Kizer to Belichick. We'll deserve exactly what happens next.

Let me know when Kizer becomes a good QB. Everything he has shown indicates an average NFL starter isn't in his future. But you just keep on steering the hate wagon.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I believe DK still has the potential to become a good QB. He didn't have much of a chance in the situation he was put in. With patience and good coaching he can still be good. However, I wouldn't gamble on it. I would still use our 1st #1 on a QB. If both develop it's a win win situation for us.

Kizer lost 14 games for the Browns, Hue lost 31. Doesn't matter which way the wagon is going. Granted, the Toledo homeboy in me would like to see Kizer succeed, but I'm not holding my breath. At the end of the day, nothing's changed in this organization and I'm finding it impossible to get my hopes up because we have yet another group of FO hires and a good draft coming up. It's so pathetic around here you've got people doing the nanner dance because we retained a 1-31 coach for God sakes.

We should stop making excuses for everything. Kizer had his chances and he didn't use them well.

Time to stop beating a dead horse and move one. Fire Hue and all the miserable football staff, demote Kizer to 3rd stringer..

Sick and tired of excuses that lead you to nothing.

I think you are still paranoid... Still thinking this is a Hue Vs. Sashi argument...

Its time for you guys to come up with some arguments for Hue's brilliance, because using Sashi has an excuse for Hue's incompetence will not do anymore...

Yeah it's the ones that are happy with the moves and lack of other moves that keep up the whining. Not the Hue haters. lmao

Anyone can keep whining in every thread if it makes them feel better. I mean it clutters the board and accomplishes nothing, but they certainly can. I just don't think they should be surprised when people call them on it though.

I think regardless of who was or was t fired you’re gonna have people complaining, or expressing their opinions about things, depending on how you look at it, FO, players, owner, and even coaches after you finish an 0-16 season. Some are gonna end up being right, some wrong, but I do think we all want, no deserve, the same thing and that’s a franchise that can compete and we can be proud of. We may not agree on how to get there but let’s hope we get there. Just think people have the right to say whatever they want on here after not winning a game this year. But that’s just me.

And see, I don't really disagree with you.

But here we are in a Kizer thread and the usual suspects bring up Hue.

We have a FO thread, and guess what? Yep, crap about Hue.

I understand that sometimes threads get high jacked, but at what point do you think enough is enough? Don't you think they should keep the comments about Hue in the threads about coaching or create another Hue thread instead of bringing it up in every thread?

See, that's why threads are titled. To let you know what the thread is about. To give you the topic of the thread you are entering.

Spamming the board isn't what this is supposed to be about. Going into every thread bringing up the coach isn't how a message board is supposed to work. There's a difference in disliking the HC and using that to clutter up every thread on a message board.

This thread is titled Kizer Rnd 7.

Interesting, as that's the round he should've been taken in.

WE DON'T NEED A QB BEFORE WE GET A LINE THAT CAN PROTECT HIM
my two cents...

Hate wagon?

It is a hate wagon to have the audacity to suggest the team should give draft selections more than a single season to establish themselves before making a determination as to their long-term value?

At least I'm consistent. All our rookies struggled, and I want to see what they all do next year. The same thing I said of the 2016 rookies. The same thing I'll say of the 2018 rookies.

I'd love to know how that's apparently hateful but I've learned it's a waste effort to try make sense of anything coming from you.

Good catch, as always, Pit. Sorry for being so hateful towards the rookies. thumbsdown

I agree. Personally, I'm in favour of #1 rookie vs Kizer. Grab a veteran like McCown, Fitzpatrick or Sanchez, all of whom have been influential in helping guide younger quarterbacks across multiple different systems, to assist in their development.

Unless the #1 rookie beats Kizer out, let's see what he's got in year two. If he's shown no signs of improvement, we usher in the rookie to cap off the season.

I don't vibe with the idea that we should get Smith/Cousins just to develop the #1 rookie for a few years. As I've said before, the longest a #1 overall quarterback has sat in recent history is Jared Goff, who was only on the bench for 9 games. Prior to that, Alex Smith only played nine games himself as a rookie (1 TD, 11 INT, 11 fumbles saywhat ).

Based on precedence, the first overall pick doesn't stay on the bench long, especially if we're looking at a relatively pro-ready prospect like Josh Rosen.

I feel like that's two chances to hit on our quarterback, and two chances to answer some lingering questions.

Not really a hateful sentiment, in my book. rofl

A lot of really good QB's had really bad rookie years. I don't want to get of a QB that shows so much potential too early. I don't want to start him the way he plays now either.
