It's funny how you replied to me on that response.

Maybe I should have elaborated on my comment that the Nagy/Biscuit combo being interesting because I think Biscuit was a better fit to KC's old offense than I think he fits the new one. He probably wouldn't have been the guy I would have picked for the Bears.

That being said your comment that the team that had 200 more rushing yards than us, didn't run the ball enough is also interesting.

I didn't reply to you. I started off with "j/c:"

I will say that I am not going to apologize for defending Hue Jackson and I'm not going to pretend all of these other coaches are so much better than him. I'm sorry if that upsets you, but it is what it is.

And you can get one more slam in, but we probably should stop after that. I think you know why.

You don't need to pretend all those coaches are better than Hue, because they are.

They will need to lose all games in 2 seasons to catch on to Hue...

I'm not the thread starter and I wasn't the last post.

You don't have to apologize for defending Hue, just don't expect anyone to blindly accept whatever you say.

I don't need to get a slam in. I just tell it like it is and if that bother's you, it isn't my problem.

The guys liking Nagy shouldn't bother you either. Yet somehow it does.

http://www.lindyssports.com/nfl/kansas-c...-retire/463985/

Kansas City Chiefs assistant head coach Brad Childress is planning to call it a career after 19 years in the league.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported Monday that Childress will retire and that “it doesn’t sound like (head coach) Andy Reid will be able to talk him out of it.”
News of the expected departure comes on the same day that Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy was announced as the head coach of the Chicago Bears.
Childress has spent the past five seasons with the Chiefs after serving as an offensive coordinator with the Cleveland Browns in 2012. The 61-year-old is perhaps best known for his uneven head coaching stint with the Minnesota Vikings from 2006 to midway through the 2010 season.
With Brett Favre at quarterback, Childress coached the Vikings to the NFC championship game in 2009.
From 1999 to 2005, Childress acted as Reid’s quarterbacks coach (1999-2001) and offensive coordinator (2002-2005) for the Philadelphia Eagles.

If they don't interview Troub quickly, they'll be forced to look outside the team for candidates.

The Bengals hired the Lions old defensive coordinator, Teryl Austin, as their defensive coordinator.

https://www.cincinnati.com/story/sports/...tor/1012060001/

That's a really good hire, Austin gets interviewed for head coaching jobs every off-season, for Marvin Lewis. I wouldn't be shocked to see Austin as the head coach of the Bengals in 2019.

Back at ya.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Right. I think he'll be gone after next season. I think they only signed him to an extension because the other two guys they wanted (Jay Gruden and Hue Jackson) were retained.

So Teryl Austin goes to Cincy? Hmm, wonder why the lateral move

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Good for him. I have so much love for Pett. In hindsight, I can't believe how bad Ray Farmer was. The worst of the return era.

LOL, I didn't think he'd be back in the NFL.

I really liked his personality and he might be fine as a DC, but he was over his head as a HC.

Why does Gruden's wife allow him to have that ridiculous haircut?

My wife comments on it every single time she seems him. Maybe he went to the Raiders because he will have the second worst haircut in the organization.

Yeah, but a lot of times those consultant jobs are labeled as such because if they have an official position their salary offsets. So the Seahawks basically got a year free of Mike Pettine because the Browns were paying him. Chud did the same thing when he was a consultant with the Colts.

Pet went 10-22 with the Browns. That clearly wasn't good enough to be the head coach of the Cleveland Browns. You have to produce winning results to coach here! LOL

Pet didn't work for a FO that intentionally blew up the roster.

Our 1 and 31 record had way, way more to do w/the personnel decisions the FO made than it did w/coaching.

Its a weird situation...the front office didn't hide the fact that they were doing a complete rebuild.
Stripping it down to bear bones and building through the draft.

The front office made it clear that "Hey look, this is gonna hurt...but we are going to rip the band aid off".

They rip the band aid off.

And people are pissed because it hurts. Even though they were warned.

You were right Vers in saying that the process of stripping down in this type of rebuild was too drastic.

ed, they were clear about their intentions. Both Sashi and Haslam admitted it would be a multi-year job. They warned us that we were going to lose a lot of games. I don't think they ever tried to deceive us. They thought it was a good plan. I think most people were okay w/that plan.

I think that parts of the plan were good. I think we will reap the rewards from some of those good aspects moving forward. However, football is so different from baseball and even hoops. One game a week. The need for impact players. Experience. Etc.

Losing so many games is tough on everyone. One can see why the coaching staff got so upset w/the FO. You got college kids posting things that are mocking the defense, yet you have never ran that defense before and you think you have to because of the personnel that you have been given. You are handed three qbs who have never won a single NFL game and now people are questioning your play calling and game management. It was too much to overcome.

I think we have good coaches. I don't think they are great, but they are well-respected in the NFL. I think Dorsey and his staff see the roster issues and will work hard to get these guys some players. I think that the good part of the plan [lot's of cap space and many draft picks] will aide both this FO and coaching staff moving forward. I truly believe that this franchise is going to be okay, provided they don't give into all the criticism they are receiving right now and fire guys like Hue and Williams.

I'd bet against that as I highly doubt it. If there is one owner who likes to see contracts all the way through, it's Mike Brown. Some might call it loyalty. I think it's more of his fickle nature and hatred of dead money.

Because in a sport where you risk injury in any play, its absurd to think that you are going to accomplish anything without zero tolerance for excuses.

Main problem with the Browns has been its losing culture and lack of accountability, and this regime has been the worst at that.

Nobody would sign for a 1-15 and 0-16 seasons... that's completely absurd to to think.

We never though we would be playoff worthy in 2 seasons, but what we have seen is not even close, we are talking worst team in the NFL history level.

And contrary to what some think, the main issue has never been talent, ownership or business acumen, main issue has been the mediocrity of the football people in the organization.

I must remember that not even with the new franchise this level of tolerance towards mediocrity was admitted. Just to put in perspective, Palmer had 5x more wins than Hue and I don't remember anyone missing Palmer at that time...
