I wasn't talking to you. I put j/c. I'm just saying that people are kinda going crazy over this report. I don't get how or why it is such a big deal.

Washington would have to give the Broncos permission, which I'm guessing we would know about.
Yes, Washington would have to give the Broncos permission. Just like they had to have it from KC to get Smith.

As an organization, we were morons to cut him. Imagine how much Kiser might have learned from him. In my opinion, cutting McGown was the biggest mistake of last off-season. (Only slightly worse than cutting Haden.) I would take him back, and hope he stays with the Browns when he retires as a coach.

Fellas, I'm with Joe Thomas on this one for Kirk Cousins. Not that he knows QB's, but you snag Cousins and then utilize your top 2 picks on Offense and defensive players. We HAVE THE MONEY FOR COUSINS!!! The only thing I'll add is that I think we are gonna have to max contract Cousins for him to even consider playing for the Browns.

Just curious for your opinion on why we shouldn't sign Cousins.

Just curious for your opinion on why we shouldn't sign Cousins. Because I think two of the draft eligible QBs (Josh Rosen and Sam Darnold) can be much better than him. One of them (Rosen) could probably be as good as him this season.

I just worry about a guy already stating he doesn't want to play for Cleveland, playing for Cleveland. Just seems like bad juju coming out of the gates. Normally I would say go for the draft talent and not the FA QB, but this seems like a solid opportunity to actually land a franchise QB who was the starter of an NFL team with proven stat line and not just the backup behind an Aaron Rodgers or a Tom Brady who had a few solid games.

While I'm "picking on you", I secretly admire your desire to have the kid on our team.

get real about Mayfield. No comparison to Kizer if u think so u eliminated yourself from all QB discussion....FOREVER.
Mayfield would be #2,3,4 QB for the simple fact of his height not his skill set.
I dont think we are slotted in the right slot to get Mayfield. But now a lot of this is pending on the vet FA we take.
You can take your nose out of somebidies butt now...lol

On a side note, heard on the radio, maybe Florio, that Cousins won’t sign with Cleveland because he wants to win now. Then he said the Jets are a possibility. Are they ready to win now? Or is it that there is the Browns and 31 teams ready to win now?

Reports have said the Browns offered the Chiefs one of their second round picks, but ultimately the Chiefs agreed to take a third round pick from the Redskins along with Kendall Fuller. Reports also said the Redskins were willing to sign Smith to a long-term contract, whereas the Browns were more interested in the short term. Cousins is expected to receive a multi-year deal that will likely surpass the most recent quarterback contract extension signed by Matthew Stafford of the Detroit Lions, which came in at five-years, $135 million with $92 million of that guaranteed. If the Browns were not willing to sign Smith to a long term deal why would they sign Kirk Cousins to a long term deal?

Kirk is younger and more trade-able when their rookie is ready.

So why go after Smith then? Because Smith was seen as a cheaper, shorter, bridge gap solution. Hence why we wouldn't offer him a contract like Cousins'

Kirk is younger and more trade-able when their rookie is ready. If you're signing Kirk Cousins, you are hoping he is your starter for more than four years (and will compensate in a way that makes that clear). Drafting a QB first overall and then never playing him would be a colossal waste of the most valuable non-player asset a football team can have.

Having two QB's when one of them is a guy that teams will trade for is not a problem.

Or why would a team trade for an aging veteran (who has a deal that is expensive or nearly finished)?

Guessing you nailed it. The Browns and then 31 teams ready to win. I think it's just a nice way of saying "I don't want to play for the Browns."

Cousins won't sign with us unless we commit to not drafting a QB number 1. I'm sure it'll be a stipulation in any deal we'd make. Obviously it wouldn't be in the contract, but it would be a handshake agreement.

There is no way possible for Cousins to be traded. The trade deadline has passed for 2017 and starts for 2018 at the same time as free agency which is what Cousins will be. If the Redskins tag Cousins the tag doesn't go into effect until free agency starts and then anybody signing Cousins would have to abide to the rules of the tag as far as compensation to Washington (IE Franchise tag = 2 1st rnd picks, transition tag = no compensation.)

Its ok for u to have an opinion. All I know is I watched at least 6 full games. I was very impressed with his arm strength, accuracy, command of the playbook, leadership n comfort in the pocket. If he was 6'3" + he would be the front runner for overall #1 pick. I love him but I cannot rationalize taking him #1 why I say he is not slotted for us to get him in the draft. I do see him dropping because of his height. FA QB pick up could have us target him.
You know who will end up taking him?
NE Patriots...wont surprise me at all.
Stating u dont want him over n over doesnt cut it with me. Not cause of disagreement but because u didnt state why. Note I dont know what u did just in that reply u didnt.
Device does over do it but at least he is pationate on who he wants.
