I would be OK with a killer speed WR who can help Coleman. The Trips we could put to there would be a matchup nightmare. I think the new OC could use him OK.
Price is acceptable, I hope. We can pay for some known commodities. Gordon?

I think it's harsh to judge Coleman before we get consistent production at QB. Until that point, it's an incomplete IMHO.

Makes sense. Gregggg knows him.
At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

At first I was shocked and then the contract details came out: Jaguars are giving QB Blake Bortles a new three-year, $54 million deal, worth up to $66.5M with incentives, that includes $26.5M guaranteed, tying him to Jacksonville through the 2020 season, per source.
Jacksonville out of QB market. https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/967556260974465024The Jaguars already owed Bortles $18 million for the 2018 season, so they just tacked on an extra $8.5M for the next seasons after that. I would be pretty surprised if the Jaguars passed on a QB in the draft. Edit: Also, Kirk Cousins is going to get so much money.

Wouldn't a new 3 year deal include the 2018, 2019, and 2020 seasons, with him becoming a free agent in 2021? I don't see them going with a QB high in the draft.

Yes, but they were going to owe him $18 million in 2018 either way because they picked up his fifth year option and he probably won't pass his physical. So they get Bortles for two more years while only adding $8.5 million to his deal. This is a pretty good deal for both sides. Blake Bortles can be Mike Glennon for them until whoever their next QB is is ready and he gets money.

Posted this in the Franchise Tag discussion as well. Could go in several discussions, I suppose. Report: Vikings not expected to use franchise tag on Case Keenum Posted by Josh Alper on February 26, 2018, 12:27 PM EST Case Keenum stepped into the Vikings lineup in Week Two and his run as the starting quarterback lasted all the way until the team’s loss to the Eagles in the NFC Championship Game, which left Keenum in pretty good position to land a payday as an impending free agent this offseason. That payday may not be coming from the Vikings. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Vikings are not expected to use the franchise tag on Keenum before the March 6 deadline to do so. That doesn’t mean Keenum will be leaving Minnesota. He could still sign a deal to remain with the Vikings for a second season, but it certainly raises the likelihood that he’ll be hearing from other teams once the “legal tampering” window opens a couple of days before the league year starts on March 14. It also will fuel speculation that Minnesota might be making a run at signing Kirk Cousins as a free agent in hopes that he can help the team make the final steps that eluded them in their quest for a Super Bowl this season.

It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.
Denver is apparently a favourite. Albert Breer (MMQB) has been trumpeting this for a while, saying that Elway attempted to trade for Keenum last year. Breer stood by that again this week in which he projected Denver drafts Rosen, pairing him with Keenum. (Breer has the Browns taking Darnold, Giants taking Allen and Jets signing Cousins. Mayfield goes to Miami.)
It is smart for Minnesota to let Keenum hit free agency, however. I don't see anyone really wanting to pay him. If Keenum's agents are fighting for a starting contract, they're just not going to get it. His interest on the open market is as a bridge, not a starter. This might be an easier way for Minnesota to bring him back on the cheap - which could help them also retain Bridgewater.

I certainly see it as a sign they believe that Bridgewater will be ready to return.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Are there many free agent Running backs that might help the Brown improve on what they have a running back.

Thanks for the clarification. I didn't realize that he was actually released. I thought he would be available during the FA period.
I liked EJ Gains in college. That is the dude from Mizzou, right? He's long and can make plays. But, I could be wrong again, because there are two Gaines at cb in the NFL. Set me straight.

vontae davis to buffalo is a good acquisition granted he stays healthy

I would still draft a RB but I would hate to go into the draft knowing we had to pick one and end up over drafting a player just to make sure we got a RB or end up not getting one because of the way the draft fell.

Ivory wouldn't be a bad pickup ... a little bit older, but hasn't had tons of use
runs hard, needs touches though ... pretty good out of the backfield

NFL: "No decision has been made" on Teddy BridgewaterPosted by Mike Florio on February 27, 2018, 9:15 AM EST As the NFL, through its in-house media conglomerate, pushes the notion that Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater‘s contract won’t be tolled from 2017 to 2018, allowing him to become a free agent, the NFL officially is taking a more equivocal position. “No decision has been made,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarty told PFT via email on Tuesday morning. The situation involves two issues. First, does the placement of Bridgewater on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list to start the 2017 regular season trigger a provision in the labor deal that automatically tolls his contract for a year? Second, and perhaps more importantly, was Bridgewater improperly placed on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list to start the 2017 regular season? As to the first question, the language of the CBA seems clear. If a player in the last year of his contract misses six games due to being physically unable to perform, his contract tolls for a year. As to the second question, an arbitrator could decide to reject the medical testimony and documents supposedly supporting the decision to keep Bridgewater on the PUP list. An arbitrator recently made a similar decision in a grievance filed by Bengals quarterback A.J. McCarron, who successfully argued that the team improperly put him on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list to start the 2014 season, robbing him of a year of credit toward free agency. The Vikings hope to avoid the perception/reality that they’d be responsible for keeping Bridgewater under contract for another year. The league eventually must decide whether it wants to risk losing another fight of this nature, exposing yet again the extent to which doctors can manipulate medical decisions in a way that advances the strategic interests of the team that pays them. However it plays out, a decision needs to be made soon. The free-agent market officially opens in 15 days. Report: Teddy Bridgewater expected to be a free agentPosted by Josh Alper on February 27, 2018, 7:53 AM EST We know that two of the Vikings’ quarterbacks from last season are set for free agency on March 14 and it looks like the third will be joining them. When last we checked in with the league about whether Teddy Bridgewater‘s contract would toll because he spent six games on the physically unable to perform list last season, NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said they “will let you know when we have something.” That hasn’t changed, but another league employee reports all signs point toward Bridgewater hitting the open market. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Bridgewater is expected to be a free agent come the start of the new league year. Rapoport adds that the Vikings are not “planning to assert” that Bridgewater’s rights should remain with them for another year. That’s pretty much what Vikings General Manager Rick Spielman said early this month when he framed the Bridgewater contract question as a league matter rather than a team issue. Rapoport followed up his initial report to say “all parties” are in agreement in reply to our tweet about that characterization. If the league isn’t willing to make it an issue, part of the reason may be found in the recent loss of a grievance involving Bengals quarterback AJ McCarron. McCarron argued he was improperly placed on the NFI list as a rookie and an arbitrator agreed, which leaves McCarron set for unrestricted rather than restricted free agency. Bridgewater could make a similar argument about being ready for medical clearance in Week One and that the Vikings’ more cautious approach had to do with roster machinations rather than his health.

I don't think there would be even a chance of Minni allowing Teddy to hit free agency if he was healthy.
It's a damn shame for that kid.

He's just an older Crow. Best running up the middle and gets stronger with more carries.

It's a damn shame for that kid. It's rumored that Minnesota will be big players for Cousins. If they don't get him, they could still try to sign Bridgewater back. With the legal tampering period now, they can have an idea of what's going on before anyone can sign contracts. If they are out of the Cousin sweepstakes right away, i could see them trying to bring him back. If he checks out health wise, I'd sign him in a second. He still could be a good QB. Draft a QB at 1 or 4 and we should be set with 1 of the 2.
