I don't know..........I don't think the bench press has a whole lot to do w/playing RB. I was a RB. Leg strength was huge. Speed was huge. Toughness was huge. Cutting ability was huge. Vision was huge. Blocking ability was huge. Hands were huge. The bench..........uhmmmmm.........not so much.
That isn't me knocking Barkley, but the bench isn't very important for RBs.

I agree and that is why we took Myles last year. Dude is a freak.
I just don't think that stuff translates to RB as well as some other positions such as DEs, OLBs, WRs, etc.

I agree. As long as they aren't under a reasonable standard, being way over doesn't translate to much for a back.

It's just sort of comical that there is this false narrative that height determines if you're going to be a good QB or not. Keep on keeping on, I guess.

I don't believe that height alone keeps someone from being a good QB. I do think it's one ingredient in the evaluation process. Character and being able to contain your emotions is another.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Character and being able to contain your emotions is different from height. When someone says that so and so is too short to be a quarterback it falls on deaf ears. You have Brees. You have Wilson. Both won a SB. The comments aren't his arm strength is lacking because he's short, the comments are he's TOO SHORT, which is simply not a reason someone fails. Maybe if we're talking about basketball or being an astronaut it would matter, but then again Muggsy Bogues was 5'3"... so maybe height only matters when it comes to being an astronaut?

Out of 32 NFL starters, you can't even name a handful with Mayfields measurables. So while you are able to show that it's not impossible, you've also shown how unlikely it is.

Again, that's something different. People are flat out saying he can't be a good quarterback because he's TOO SHORT.
I mean it's whatever. There is zero weight in the argument that being TOO SHORT is a reason for being a poor quarterback, but I can't stop ignorance... whatevs.

Anyone who says that his height alone precludes him from being a good QB I would have to disagree with. I do believe the evidence is there to say it makes his odds less, but it certainly doesn't preclude him.

As far as the Browns not being enamored w any of the QB's that may well be true as far as the 1st pick goes.. then again I'm reminded what the late great Mark Twain once said about NFL GM's.. "At the times leading up to FA and the draft.. there is only one critter that lies more ferociously than a Missouri mule trader and that's the NFL GM."

I wonder who is saying that "being TOO SHORT is a reason for being a poor quarterback?" I haven't read that on here. Have you?

He's on a crusade man. Next I'm waiting on him to talk about how the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor. lol
He's picked his guy and he's fighting tooth and nail for him. While I most certainly disagree with his choice, I understand him for being defensive and kind of admire him for sticking to his guns.

Sticking up for his guy is fine, but we should at least try to be truthful. Well, there are not many Rosen supporters... not sure why? but... I'm on your side with Rosen. he's going to be the QB for some team for a very long time and do well.

And I don't really care what quarterback we draft, I will root for him.
There are a lot of lies made up about him. I'm just trying to help out so people know the truth unlike your friend over there.

So....he should be at the top of our list?

So....he should be at the top of our list? nope. Plus, he is an air raid QB. 3 of the 4 biggest air raid QB failures we drafted. Let's not make it a 4th.

I have no definitive opinion on Mayfield, one way or another. The same goes for all QBs in this draft. I was just being cheeky and saying do the opposite of what Hue wants. Every QB he has liked for Cleveland and we got has been an utter failure. The one he didn't want at our draft slot ended up being extremely good.
To his credit, he did like Goff.

It's early yet, but Goff seems to be doing well coming from an Air Raid offense.

You'd better hope that DePodesta has no say too. He's the one who said Wentz wouldn't be a top 20 QB.

All the more reason to listen and remove some of those folks from the decisions loop IMO. Some committee verdicts looking for consensus where none exists lose sight of their charge and focus on building agreement. It can work and has, but not for everything. We have some proven individuals who have proven they are not able to provide the solution. Do not give them undue say, or limit their options to player A or B.
I agree with DeviceD above. I have been told "Trust me" twice and one game was won over two years. Somebody else be the chooser, somebody with more ability than Podesta.
