I don't know how I feel about this. I know that dude is a straight wacko... but going from basically "we'll destroy you" to "hey, let's talk turkey... come visit us" and etc doesn't seem fully right coming from a psycho.
What's he going to want to denuke if he's really willing? Swish said what I thought, all US troops out of South Korea at the least.

The man sitting across from him bankrupted a casino because he's so terrible at negotiation. North Korea will probably walk out of this with warheads. They'd be crazy *not* to take a shot here.

I do like the direction it's going now compared to what it's been though. US can have a very, very big win here if things work out. It won't be like the Obama Iran deal though...

Trump's failures as a negotiator are two-fold: he's incredibly dumb, and he's easily bowled over by simple flattery. Those traits are a constant in any negotiation he enters. It wasn't more than six months ago that Kim Jong-Un won him over with simple flattery. He went from fuming at him to calling him a "smart cookie" because Jong-Un said something nice about him. The New York real estate world learned this a long time ago, and used it to dupe Trump into overpaying for land. The Saudis have already figured this out and bilked him, I'm sure North Korea took notice.

So... I'm no detective here but I'm going out on the limb here and say you didn't vote for Donald LOL?
It's okay, I'm skeptical too of the situation as I alluded to earlier. I don't think anyone can successfully negotiate proper terms with a psycho like Kim. No matter how smart, stupid, cunning or even honest one may be.

So, what could have brought on this sudden, out of the blue announcement, talks with NK that Trumps Sec of State had no prior knowledge of?
Stormy Daniels...?

Good evening.
Today I had the privilege of briefing President Trump on my recent visit to Pyongyang, North Korea.
I'd like to thank President Trump, the Vice President and his wonderful national security team, including my close friend, Gen. McMaster.
I explained to President Trump that his leadership and his maximum pressure policy, together with international solidarity, brought us to this juncture. I expressed President Moon Jae-in's personal gratitude for President Trump's leadership.
I told President Trump that in our meeting, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said he is committed to denuclearization. He pledged that North Korea will refrain from any further nuclear or missile tests. He understands that the routine joint military exercises between the Republic of Korea and the United States must continue.
And he expressed his eagerness to meet President Trump as soon as possible.

Yo bro, trump is gonna meet Kim in May.
If he handles this correctly, this will be a massive W for him.
However, it’s gonna be interesting. The only way I see NK denuclearized is if the US pulls troops out of SK. The next best thing would be a halt to missile testing in exchange for massive sanction relief.
This year will be big politically for the US, for better or for worse. I think you are not giving enough weight to the fact that NK is and will be bankrupt in months. Kim cant feed his people already, and soon he wont be able to feed his army, nor himself. Without the US and coming to the table, he will suffocate if debt. Trump needs to stay firm, and not let up as we hold all the cards. Curious, if NK does in fact denuke - NOBEL PEACE PRICE in order? I believe so.

NK was suppose to be bankrupted years ago.
you forget that they have the backing of two superpowers, which is why their country not only managed to function, but magically gets equipment to even test missiles in the first place.
we've had sanctions on NK for how long? no bankruptcy, so ask yourself why and how, and then you will see that NK is the perfect buffer for the two countries who are actually pulling the strings.
as far as your last question, if he gets NK to denuke, then yea, make him a candidate for the Nobel. im deadass too.

If Trump could broker a N. Korea solution, he would be very deserving of a Nobel Peace Prize.
As a general rule, I do think it is better to wait until a President leaves office before giving such an award. What's the rush? Wait and see what happens and then judge based on the full body of work.

i don't see a problem with giving a president that award based on the current body of work.
the problem is that conflict is bound to happen, and we're talking about a president - not an activist, scientist, teacher, etc - so how they get the award has to be judged differently.
for example, there could be a situation where trump has to order a drone strike on <inset region of a country>, but that shouldn't disqualify him from the award because that drone strike is small compared to denuking the korean peninsula.

If Trump does such an outstanding job where it's appropriate to give him a Nobel Peace Prize right away, so be it. You probably won't hear much objection from me.
The whole idea is to avoid the awkward situation of giving a President the award after a few months of promises, only to have transpire during his Presidency the exact opposite thing that he got the award for.

'Washington in shock after Trump ACCEPTS stunning invitation to meet North Korean despot by May after rogue nation agrees to suspend nuclear and missile tests'http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-...ar-program.htmlThis should be interesting... very interesting. Narcissist vs sociopath. What could possibly go wrong? Seriously though? This should be good news. It is.

Is it really that shocking, or stunning, he accepted the invite for talking and securing a peaceful future? I mean, like Trump or hate Trump, it's his job to do so. Not shocking, for me, he accepted. It would be shocking if it worked out, the talks to denuke was very genuine and they were able to get something where both sides could at least walk away with a few less concerns to sleep with at night.

This is neither a good thing or a bad thing. I'll judge it by the results of those talks if they even take place.
Trump wants this for many reasons, not the least of which is he wants a Nobel Prize... Just like Obama's.
But putting that aside, it's better we talk then blow stuff up.. We don't need another war to fight

Foolish.
We were inches from war and now we are a mile.
Kim was launching missiles over Japan and now he is launching nothing.
Kim was detonating Nukes, working toward a Hydrogen Bomb but now he is testing nothing.
We were shouting names at each other, threatening to turn everything to ash and now we are going to sit down and talk.
How can you possibly be confused as to if this good or not?
And the Nobel Prize suggestion is stupid beyond comment as Trumps biggest worry was having to possibly kill millions of people to save the United States.

I have no idea how these negotiations will go or how they will end. But it's certainly a great first step in the right direction.

My guess is trump will come away saying something to the effect that Kim is really a great leader. Really really great. A smart, fair, honorable leader. He seems to like despots and authoritarians.

Have you seen a certain 3 letter anti trumper on here going snowflake and hair on fire once again that trump is winning...... The guy who had a hissy fit "you, sir" meltdown where he declared that he was no longer speaking to me because he got tongue-tied is calling me "snowflake"? Seriously? By the way, if you ever do get around to untying that tongue, I'd love to hear how it wasn't racist when Trump tweeted out a racist graphic from the neo-Nazi website Stormfront.

And don’t get it twisted bro, this is a positive article and I’m glad NK and SK are talking.
But they aren’t in talks of denuclearization. But we got the next best thing going, which is atleast halting missile test. I guess you called that one BTW

I see a bunch of people who have such a hatred for President Trump they are unhappy when something good comes America's way. I often wonder if some of them would sell out America in order to "Get Trump".
Our Society is broken.
Who is un-happy when something good happens to America? Who is happier to see Trump fail than to see the USA win? Show me? I don't think you can. I think that's more McCarthyism and yes - it's part of the reason our society is broke. . . . People are allowed to have a different opinion than you. And they can see the same issue and hold a different perspective. But calling anyone who sees things different than you Anti-Murica and saying they want America to fail is exactly part of why Murica is broke. Regarding Trump and NK ... I hope the world is a safer place as a result of whatever negotiations begin. If it happens Kudos to Trump. Kudos to Trump that the negotiations have even begun .... but talks and getting results are not the same thing. And whatever my opinion of Trump - Kim Jong-un is a real and total whack job. If the talks don't lead anywhere I won't blame Trump one bit. If the talks explode into a pissing contest of verbal bravado and reckless tweeting and military brinksmanship - I'll have an issue with Trump... but I don't think that's likely at this point.

Because its blatantly true that TDS is in full swing for some, and if trump came out in favor of oxygen some on this board and the left would suffocate.

[/quote] I think what you are talking about might be the blind Obama hatred that was expressed for 8 years? And no - I don't see what you say is so obvious ... I see people with a different view getting called un-American... something that never happened with the Obama haters. In fact it was Obama and the Obama supporters who were still called un-American. Take tariffs - just because some don't think tariffs are the answer and some think it's going to instantly solve everything - doesn't make them un-American.... the fact that some don't want a Wall doesn't make them hate American. Just because someone doesn't like a Trump policy you like or think makes the US better - doesn't mean they want America to fail it means they have a different opinion about what makes America better.
The more things change the more they stay the same.

News Flash ... Mr Twitter won't be getting any prizes after NK backs out of abandoning their nukes. They've lied and backed out of every deal since Bush Sr. Nothing new here. Moving on.
