Obama owned what the market did under him - Trump owns what the market does under him .... good and bad. a 3 day correction or whatever it ended up being is a ridiculously short snapshot to start claiming anything one way or the other when it happened under Trump. And even if the market had stayed at the point it was after that 2nd or 3rd day ... if you draw a line from the when Trump took office (or the election date might be a fairer start point) to that low point on Feb 22nd - it was still a great performance. Arguing that is silly. But then - when I post graphs that factually show that the Trump era market performance is basically on exactly the same trajectory as under Obama and guys like Diam want to ... you have your counter idiocy. If anyone was crowing about the blip in the market in Feb I didn't see it.

What I did say was that the market reaction to Tariffs was negative and 40 educated me that the Dow/Stock Market aren't the economy . . . . which I never responded to because it seems to freaking obvious to explain the market reacts to confidence on how any news will impact the economy ... so when Tariffs are announced and stocks go down, it means most do not believe that Tariffs are good for the economy.

It's hard to downplay the success or importance of the NK talks. Doing so is silly in my opinion. . . . But any celebrating or declaration of success have to be tempered. Kim is more than capable of doing something totally random or crazy between now and when talks start - or during the talks - or after the talks.

It would be awesome if we could denuclearize North Korea soon. Let's just not call it a done deal just yet, and realize that the nuclearization question might well be the football, and PRK is Lucy and the US is Charlie Brown.

The risks to the US and Trump himself for failed negotiations are much higher than failed negotiations for Kim Jong Un and PRK. We also don't have a South Korea ambassador, nor (from what I can see) any Korean experts in the white house. All Un has to do really is get the President on video tape doing handshakes and talks with the dictator, and we've legitimized the PRK regime in a way we have not done to this point. Even "picking up the phone" like we did yesterday legitimizes the regime further.

Long story short, this ain't over. Not by a long shot.

About the Twitter banter: maybe it just makes the President seem human. The two leaders are scheduled to talk in a couple months and there are signs that Kim may be willing to make major concessions, right? Seems like Trump is making better progress than any other President in recent memory, but how this all plays out remains to be seen.

We are sending in a one time developer/reality show host/bankrupt often/Untrustworthy (by his wives) person to negotiate Nuclear disarmament with a dictator who is next up in a long line of dictators from NK that wanted a meeting with a US President in order to get some credibility.

Each president going back to Nixon wouldn't take this meeting without an agreement in place to cut Nukes...
