I didn't favor this before, still have reservations. But this could do us a lot of good with FA pickups. Barkley is a monster! Liking him more than a Darnold all the time.

Doing some of these mock draft simulators, I'm wondering if we could pull off something like this:
1:1 CLE Josh Rosen QB UCLA
1:4 CLE Bradley Chubb EDGE NC St.
2:1 CLE Sony Michel RB Georgia
2:3 CLE Mike Hughes CB UCF
2:32 CLE Equanimeous St. Brown WR Notre Dame
This draft is pretty deep in RBs and CBs. Even if we pass up Minkah and Barkley at #4, it seems like we'll have a really good chance at getting a top CB or RB falling to us in the second round. If for whatever reason there's a run on those positions, then we'll get a good WR or OT falling to us. The later rounds are harder to pick because you don't know who goes where or who's drastically over-valued. Three guys I'd consider later on would be Shaq Griffin (LB), Alex Cappa (LT), and Mike White (QB). I think White could be had in the late 5th or later. He might be a really good bench stash, ala Kirk Cousins when they took RG3 in the first round. The guy had a great Senior Bowl, and seems to have some really good QB traits.

I also like White.I don't think there is anything wrong taking whoever we want 1 or 4 and then White later on. I think White could become a solid backup, maybe more.

I think it would be amusing to draft Christian Kirk, just for the confusion of names with Christian Kirksey.

I think the Darnold/Ward pairing is the most likely
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I think the Darnold/Ward pairing is the most likely After Randall being at FS, I already feel better about that position and less the need of Minkah. Darnold/Ward via a trade down with a team still in the top is something I'm warming up to.

Yep, having a CB at FS ought to do it. lol
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I thought he was a road grader type guard. He's kinda nasty at times. I like that!
Darn! This belongs under the colts trade thread. Oh well, it's regarding Q. Nelson... someone called him a tackle...

Other than QB, the weakest unit on our team is the secondary. Yet I keep seeing people pushing it down on their draft boards when it comes to addressing those positions. I see that as very short sighted.

Yeah, we all know playing three years in the NFL all boils down to what you did in the NCAA. lmao
I don't know who the hell convinced all you people that he is going to change positions and be a good FS.

Not really. We certainly don't have a Jarvis Landry in our secondary.

Not really. We certainly don't have a Jarvis Landry in our secondary. According to your logic, Randall hasn't proved anything and not worthy. We've seen Bowe, Kenny and endless WRs selected in the draft come and do nothing. Getting Landry hasn't proved anything outside the speculation that we're better there. I see that as short sighted.

Not worthy of what? Playing CB? Sure he's a CB. But who sees him as rated as highly at CB as Landry is at WR?
Hey, we got a good upgrade at the CB position. But since he hasn't taken a snap at FS in the NFL, it's you making the reach here, not me. And how good do you actually have to be to be considered an upgrade on what we had at CB last year?

Base all of your hope and prayer's on Gordon... we'll see where that gets you here and probably by the season starts before he messes up again. Landry alone won't be anymore effective for our WR group than our secondary and probably easily to say both suck, but we could use more help for the QB than we could in our secondary. And I'm not even advocating us getting a WR at 4, dude. But yeah, let's have a solid defense that loses by three points all the time because our offense drags. I'm done with you guys and the lame sarcasm that someone has been spewing out all day. Have fun.

Not your type of sarcasm, you're just trying to downgrade people. I've been reading the posts all morning, and now you have your girlfriend here with even more sarcasm. Truth, or just an annoyance - take your pick.

And how good do you actually have to be to be considered an upgrade on what we had at CB last year? This would tell me that you didn’t watch many Packer games this season. He was not a very good corner. I’m not convinced he’s going to be a great FS but It was a mistake for the packers to try to make him a corner. He was out of position.
